This Asian market moved to its new location by the Crossfit gym a few months ago. I live in east Nashville and it is very convenient to have this little gem so close to my house. The man who runs the store is friendly enough. I usually tell him what I need then he guides me around the store while I make my selections. They have a variety of produce that I cannot find at any other grocery store in the area, and everything is cheaply priced. I will say that when I am making a recipe, like green curry, I have to go to two grocery stores to find everything I need(i.e. chicken, smaller bags of rice, some vegetables). A few of things that I have purchased are: lemongrass, limes, curry paste, noodles, chiles, sprouts, thai basil, and Japanese eggplant Bring cash if you can! Credit card machine fees are expensive for small businesses like this.

We stopped by at this place to look for some Asian sauces and I wasn’t impressed. They really didn’t have a lot of merchandises on sale. Also, all of their cold goods are in these coolers where you have to open them to see what’s inside. You pretty much have to ask the owner for what you really need in order to find it. They have a really good location though so if they just get more merchandise items, I would certainly come back and shop.

This place is nothing too fancy but they generally have pretty much everything I need if I am making a Thai dish at home. Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient to where we live so I will go back when I need lemongrass stalks or massaman curry paste.

If they had more inventory, I would certainly bump them up more stars. But because of their limited inventory… I have settled on 3 stars. Prices are higher than K&S, but then again, they are smaller… When I’m in a pickle and need something«now,» I go here. I’m glad they’re on this side of town. Great for emergencies. They have basics, but not a whole lot.

This little shop is an Asian Market and it’s called Asian Market, done. They have a surprisingly large selection of products that one would normally have to cross the river for. Having this place on the East Side is very handy indeed. Noodles, seaweed, coconut milk, chilies, chili pastes, rice, jars and jars of things I’d never heard of, dried herbs and spices, some candies, sodas, assorted cookware etc. Also they have some select frozen seafood and some unique fresh produce. If you’re interesting in the sourcing, it’s not readily labeled and I know for some people that’s a very important issue. The folks in the shop were speaking Cambodian and were very friendly and willing to help us with questions. It’s a little disheveled in there but it does have some sense to it. Plus it’s fun to wander around and look at things. Also be careful pulling out of the spots right out front because literally it’s a two foot back up in to Gallatin.

Total diamond in the rough. I had a long list of not-Kroger-available needs(fermented beans, kaffir lime leaves) for a soup and stir fry and was dreading a Sunday trek to Nolensville pike. Unilocal pointed me to this little gem and I got absolutely everything in my list. Score!

I started going to this place almost 2 years ago, when it was at its much smaller location down on Gallatin Pike. My mom was visiting from the west coast and wanted to run in to get the basics. She was pleasantly surprised at the variety. Even on the west coast, she occasionally has to shop around for frozen, shredded cassava. At least for my Asian cooking needs, it has everything I need that I now rarely go to K&S. There’s a whole wall of different types of noodle for your Japanese(udon), Thai(pad thai), Chinese(lo mein), and Vietnamese(phở) cooking needs. There’s sauces galore, and there’s even an aisle of fresh vegetables. My typical shopping list there includes: jasmine and sushi rice; baby bok choy; firm tofu; Thai basil; soy sauce; fish sauce; frozen mixed seafood; and frozen escargot(snails). There’s parking in the front and back, with a rear entrance. Another tip: they often keep the doors locked but they are there. Just tap on the front door to be let in.

Probably not the first place that comes to mind when needing Asian goods but an A-Ok little market if you live in East Nasty, with 8 freezers of frozen food, fish, vegetable and other strange looking things. I needed dumplings and shelled edamame and rice squares in a hurry and it was all here. some fresh vegetables and a the usual dry goods and a huge array of Asian Videos. Run by a nice Cambodian fellow whom I tried to cajole into opening Nashville’s first Cambodian eatery.
