Truly a little gem of a diner. It has everything that makes me love diners. 1. Affordable prices 2. Variety of good food made fresh & quickly 3. Strong coffee 4. Quirky fun décor & staff I’m not sure why I never posted a review after my first visit about a year ago, but I recall liking it very much and planning to return.(Moves put it out of my travel route). I was greeted very warmly as I came in and was offered my choice of table or counter. A tv is playing up by the counter, but the volume is not intrusive over the whole establishment, as is often a problem elsewhere. I had to laugh at the taxidermy turkey displayed by the jukebox. I had coffee on the table within a minute and it was beautiful. Strong and not bitter, just a teaspoon of sugar and no need for cream. The refills came by regularly and I never reached the bottom of my cup.($ 1.35!!!) I was asked if I had decided after about 5 minutes and inquired about the corned beef hash. I’m a real stickler on this, it HAS to be house-made. He assured me that it was and told me enthusiastically about how they make it. Awesome. I asked for a few moments to decide. Usually, if I’m going to do a review, I want a «kitchen sink» meal. I finally spied Lenny’s Pot Luck on the menu. 3 eggs, hash, 5 slices of bacon, 2 sausages, home fries, and toast or English muffin. For… Wait for it! $ 8.75!!! I was sold. The home fries were offered«deep-fried» or grilled with peppers & onions. I opted for the grilled and it was not a disappointment. Nice soft potato cubes with paprika and lots of diced onions and green peppers. Yum. The meal arrived within about 10 minutes. Good timing and looked great. I had my eggs over easy and they were picture-perfect. I even ended up with 6 slices of bacon; these slices were thicker and not the crumbly dry wisps that you often end up seeing on your plate. The sausages were thick in casings and a nice mildly seasoned pork. The corned beef hash was very tasty as well. I did post a photo of my plates. Everything I had was made exactly as I would have hoped. I especially appreciated that the potato was not heavily salted and they left that to me at the table. I wish I’d had room for the pies they had, but it was not to be today! I think I’m going to make it a point to choose Nancy’s when I have extra morning time like I did today. Such a great little diner!

Went to ‘Nancy’s Diner’ in Nashua The burger was nothing much, been there done that plate was missing the fries and slaw — Sadness but I shouldn’t eat them, so all is good Had a GREAT bowl of French Pea soup(split pea soup), liked it enough that I got a quart to go home. will add this place to the lunch mix — extended monthly rotation

The décor was interesting. I liked the news stories underneath the table’s glass. My friend and I just randomly decided to stop on a Friday morning. It wasn’t too busy but we unfortunately sat in an area where three different tables(seemingly of strangers) were having a loud and annoying conversations first about the decline of newspapers and then next about Tom Brady. We were going to get up and leave because we could barely hear ourselves over the people but a waitress came up with menus so we stayed. Large menu. Prices seemed decent. I went with the veggie scramble and was amused to be asked if I wanted deep fried home fries. Um, no I’ll pass on that. My friend got the western scramble. Food came out fast and tasted okay. Nothing spectacular. I didn’t finish all of mine but my friend was happy to finish it. Giving 3 stars as a few hours later I had a horrible stomach ache. I felt really bloated and gassy and I wonder about the eggs and perhaps quality of cooking in their kitchen. I hadn’t eaten anything else so I’m pretty sure it was from the diner food. I wouldn’t stop again.

No complaints here, Service was prompt and friendly. Food was good and cooked to order. the décor was a 50’s diner and looked the part. I would go back again.

Place was quiet when I tried it out. Service was prompt and meat lovers omelette was good size and not greasy, home fries look like they are from a bag rather than made in house. The toast was too greasy for my liking, some pieces were actually soggy. Reasonable but I would have to try more of the menu when the place is busier to get more of an idea of what it’s really like. Coffee and omelette ran me $ 9 before tip

Nancy’s dinner is a great local place for breakfast! There is usually a wait to come in but we’ve been served coffee while waiting a few times as a convenience which I thought was nice. It’s dinner food and their eggs Benedict is fantastic. The service is very good and the staff is very friendly. This is another weekend fav.

Not that impressed, unfortunately. I had been looking forward to a good diner lunch, but the place focuses mainly on breakfast. I ended up getting the patty melt with fries and it was just ok. When I asked for a side of ranch to dip my fries, I was given a bottle of Ken’s Ranch Dressing. I’ll go back and try it for breakfast to give it another chance but felt that their lunch/dinner selections were really limited. I was questioning myself if I really got the full menu even.

We have been here several times. In the past I was not impressed with service or food. My husband likes it more than me and he drives, so that is the main reason I have been back. I think he likes it so much because it’s close to our house and the drive is short. With each visit they have become better and better. Today I ordered eggs Benedict with muffin the eggs and ham dropped on tomato slices(I’m trying to avoid the gluten). The were eggs poached perfect and the hollandaise sauce was yum. I feel they have work out some of the kinks with service and food quality. The one negative I have is there was a musty smell in the air.

Stopped in here for dinner(they are now open until 7pm daily). Greeted at the door by a server, was seated immediately. Menus given, drink order taken, and food order was taken when our server came back with our drinks. Food came out in an acceptable amount of time and drink refills were brought without having to ask. The food here is your basic diner food: it won’t win any awards, but there is a lot of it, and it’s cheap. The only negative thing I can say about Nacny’s is that there was a musty smell as soon as I walked in the door. I’ve smelled this at other places, and believe it’s an issue with the HVAC. If you are looking for you basic diner food at inexpensive prices, give Nancy’s a try.

I so wish I Unilocaled this place before I came here. The service is bad, slow and I think these people are antisocial. I tried a bite of the salmon pie. Still waiting for my mushroom burger. I hope it’s better than the pie.

I love small diners, but this is not one of them. They have the theme down, but service was terrible and the food wasn’t much better. I think we saw our waitress twice and even had to ask for the check from someone else after stacking our plates and waiting 10 minutes. I got the check and he cleared the plates. We were sitting at a very small table against a post so the server could only come to one side. He reached over me to grab things as I’m pulling out money for the bill. Then he went to grab my half full glass of juice, again reaching over me, which I planned to finish. He said sorry did you want to finish that? Yea, no thanks. The French toast I got was bad too. It looked as if it was dipped in egg and grilled… No cinnamon, no butter, no powdered sugar even. Not somewhere I ever plan to visit again.

The décor is a good idea, but it was done mostly on the cheap. Still it was fun to fun look at the old ads TV shows under the glass on the tables while waiting for the food.(I now know more about Capt Video than I did last week.) The food, well it’s not top quality ingredients, but then you aren’t paying top dollar either. Order the«Lenny’s pot luck» breakfast and you won’t have to eat the rest of the day. I don’t know who Lenny is, but he fixes a nice plate of food. Well actually two plates. By the time you put 3 eggs, 6 slices of bacon, 3 sausages, home fries, corned beef hash, and toast; it doesn’t fit on a single plate. I have to go back and try them again, but at least it was good enough to go back.

I drive Canal Street on a daily basis and was excited when I saw this new diner pop up. I’m not a fan of the 50’s theme thing, I thought it was a bit cheesey, but whatever. We ended up going to Nancy’s on a Monday morning. The restaurant was about half full and parking was not a problem. We sat ourselves at a table and were immediately greeted and brought menu’s and shortly after coffee by a male waiter. I ordered hash and eggs and my girlfriend ordered a benedict I believe. You get the option of fried or grilled hash browns. We both got them friend. The hash was canned, but it was still cooked well and had that crust to it. We both left Nancy’s thinking the food was fine. I don’t think we would travel out of our way to go here, but we would go again. The food as well as the service were both good in our opinion.

Cute and clean 50’s themed diner with black and white floor tiles and pink seat cushions and lots of sunlight coming in the windows. Each table has old product and real estate ads under glass tops. The walls have such things as old Andy Griffith posters. No, it’s not authentic posters and such but it’s meant to depict an age gone-by — a diner, you see. I like the venue and the 50’s music playing. The menu is what you’d see in a diner with heavy emphasis on breakfast. We came in for lunch and ordered burgers, fries, and a chocolate milk shake. Great grilled taste on the burger and just the right amount of grease to warrant being a diner. LOL And the shake hit the spot just like a shake should. Service was prompt, prices are great. My only wish — later hours than 2pm. Maybe once they’re established, that’ll occur. P. S. The experience all around is way better than the Red Arrow in Milford. Just sayin’.

I won’t repeat what others have said about the décor, but to say it was poorly done. I decided to try Nancy’s this morning because there was a line at Suzie’s Diner in Hudson where I live(great place BTW). Boy do I wish I stayed in Hudson and waited in line. I walked in and seated myself. The diner was mostly empty, yet I wasn’t greeted. The table I sat at was sticky, which should have been my first clue to turn around and walk out. After several minutes I was finally given a menu, which was dirty. I ordered the same breakfast I order anywhere I go, and proceeded to drink my coffee and try to read my book. The coffee tasted old. It was impossible for me to concentrate on my book as the music was so loud(and cheesy). I finished my coffee and was never offered a refill. My meal took an incredibly long time to arrive and was finally brought out by someone in the kitchen. It was dropped off at my table unceremoniously without asking if I needed anything else or if I needed my empty coffee cup refilled. I waited several more minutes for my waitress to visit my table, which she never did. I finally walked to the counter and asked for a refill. The food was horrible and I my order was not correct. I was never asked if my meal was ok, so I was stuck with it. The potato’s were old and cold, and the raisin toast was odd tasting. I managed to eat a piece of toast and left the rest. My server never came by the table to check on me, so I left enough cash on the table to cover my bill and the tip and left disappointed. Next time I’ll wait in line at Suzie’s.

The Good: Cheap prices… Really cheap. The Bad: Food isn’t seasoned at all. Details: Ambience: It’s a cheap knockoff of a 50’s diner. Some of the memorabilia isn’t real and it takes away from that experience. At least from a «tribute to an era» diner. Food: The food was not seasoned at all. I got a veggie scramble, it came with canned mushrooms and did not include spinach or anything great. The menu itself was really boring, nothing unique at all. The seasoning they use on their homefries is NOTGLUTENFREE. Price: The prices reflect the poor quality of food but 4 people can eat breakfast for under $ 20. Service: The service was pretty slow especially considering the food was so instant. The staff was very friendly and the owner goes around talking to people. I am GLUTENFREE and they were very accommodating. The owner came out to talk to us about it and my food was totally separate. The reason this place gets one star is because I go to restaurants for food and when I do, it should taste good even if its not good for you. This place should source from local farms, and raise their prices. Maybe mix up the menu a little.

I stopped in here last week for lunch. The place was very clean, the staff were polite, and the food was pretty good. The music in the room was at a reasonable level(I did not play the mini jukebox at the table so that might be louder). Our waitress was great and one of the owners stopped by our table to see how we were doing during our meal. I will definitely be back. Is it a pure timewarp to the 1950’s like some reviewers may have been hoping for? No, but it’s a fun nod to that era with good food served by people who clearly value their business and their customers. I think it’s a great addition to Canal Street!

I wanted to love this place. The theme is great, the location is very close to me, and the prices are very good, but the food was… meh.
