Since first review I have been multiple times and have been fed amazing meals. Everything tastes great, is cooked perfect. I’ll continue to come here

I was there with my family for a birthday celebration. Our table was nice, and our server was nice, but not exceptionally good at her job. I ordered a specific kind of martini straight up and it came on the rocks, my daughter’s drink came with just vodka and not with the grapefruit juice she requested, and my niece’s wine was bad! She happily returned the drinks and made it right. She neglected to pick up empty bread baskets, and some other empty dishes. The food… well…Three of us ordered the bass special… it was all overcooked and two of the three of us had fish that was black on the bottom, the risotto that was with it was tasteless and dry. Two of the dishes were a hot mess… too much heavy sauce on a marsala dish with think pieces of chicken an one all you could see was cheese… not the veal and Italian ham that should have been seen on the plate. We didn’t complain because it was a large party, so we just ate it. We didn’t realize it until after the dinner and we all agreed we should have said something during the meal. The coffee at the end was warm at best. To their credit the manager did come over to ask if everything was good, and we did tell him. He requested when we next return to please let him of any dissatisfaction during the meal. This was a Sunday night, and it was not busy… there was no one in the kitchen checking food. I believe he discounted the specials and took the bad glass of wine off the check. Too many good restaurants to return to this one for sure! Also, there were no salads that came with the meal, and no veggies with entrees. Not for me!

This is the second time going to Arturo’s in 2016, the first time the dining room had around 5 people seated– it took 15 minutes just to get the attention of the waitress to seat us. She didn’t care to give us bread, as every other table. However, if it could have gotten worse, it did. This time the waiter forgot our drinks and gave us our appetizer and meal without them and when asked he said yes he would go get them. He returned with my boyfriends drink, that was now watery because the ice melted. Also, it took him long enough just to place the order. This was on a Tuesday night with about 5 tables open, what is it like on a busy night? Terrible service, mediocre food, and high prices.

Very very good. A little nervous because of reviews but reasonable prices and so good! We had some unreal calamari(and I’m always scared of calamari). The rest of the food we had was equally good — pizza and pasta. There was a short wait but way better than the local seafood places. The bathroom and the rest of the restaurant were very clean too.

Narragansett Resturant week .Had a great meal with excellent service. Unrushed and relaxed. I had veal malainase, my wife seafood risotto. Both prepared perfectly. Had girl and dragon cabernet. And pumkin matini both great. Will do this again. Even had leftovers !

Muck in a dish. That pretty much what you will find at this locale by the sea. Went recently for a birthday dinner and had veal brandy, it was a congealed mess. The 2 stars are for the calamari which was excellent and came in many types(I had the florentine). Most dishes that hit the table were poorly constructed and it showed. I really used to like this restaurant what happened? Manager did come over and decided to debate about espresso martini’s. He opined that you can use espresso liquor, I assured him that would not suffice. Let’s brew some espresso, add whatever else you want but please no fake espresso sugar syrup in my $ 10 martini. Arrivederci Went in May 2015.

Decent food. Gorgonzola bread is a favorite of mine. It would be nice if the wait staff could be more friendly and not look so miserable

We had a flavorful dinner here and lots of quantity/good value. We made reservations and they were ready when we arrived. Service was very pleasant, professional, efficient. Not sure why there are mixed reviews, but we are glad we came. Recommend! We are a party of 10 with children on a summer weekday night.

Great food. Stopped on return trip from Block Island. Delicious eggplant parmesan grinder with a green salad! Nice optional side. Veal parmesan was also tasty!

Great restaurant for all sorts of occasions! The food is always amazing and the number of specials offered is always quite impressive! Great place for a drink & a bite to eat for date night or book the private room for special celebrations! Always my ‘go to’ place for a memorable experience! Great food, great prices, great service and great experience! Thumbs up across the board! Dinner tonight consists of a tuna appetizer, arugula salad, veal chop & plain tortellini for our daughter accompanied cherry cheesecake! The place was PACKED and the service & food absolutely exceeded our expectations! Ambience is amazing, prices are more than reasonable and the food & service exceed our expectations consistently! Thank you! Great job!

Excellent, excellent food. Kitchen staff works wonders. Great menu at great prices. I have eaten in the restaurant several times and also dined in the bar area as well. Most recently I attended a private function there held in the back room. Food was fantastic as was the waitstaff. Can’t wait to go back. Toasted raviolis are too die for… And the Penne Vodka! Also the Calamari is a must have… I don’t even like calamari but I will certainly eat theirs! Side note… If you enjoy a glass of wine here and there, they serve a very hard to find(trust me I have looked everywhere) Nicki Minaj Moscato that is the best glass of wine I have ever had. Believe me, I know the name is ridiculous but it is a must have for sweet wine lovers!

After a beautiful day yesterday at our daughters Baptism, spending time with family and friends, I’ve decided to post about our experience at Arturo Joe’s Restaurant. My wife and I hosted a party there for our guests following the Baptism at the church. My wife had a written agreement with the owner Joe Paglia regarding the details and pricing of our party. Contractually, the food was to be served at 1:45, however, upon our arrival, our almost 50 guests had to wait 45 minutes for our food. Not only did the food come out at 2:30, but it was the wrong order. When my wife asked to speak with Joe, the waitress said he was in the kitchen and she would go get him. Joe never showed. He conveniently left right before we were given the bill. The waitress(who was kind, accommodating and unfortunately caught in the middle) kindly got him on the phone for my wife. Joe made it clear that I was interrupting his busy afternoon. He was rude, condescending and compared his establishment to McDonald’s by stating I should have gone there with my guests. Joe stated our contract never specified a time for the food to be served among other details that were overlooked and never communicated to the restaurant staff. I returned home to look through my emails and forwarded him our agreement. He replied back with«go somewhere else». It is difficult for me to post about something like this… we have friends who manage restaurants and we understand how challenging it can be. Additionally, I’d rather eat a cold meal than to send it back, but somehow, some major mistakes that could have been rectified turned into an opportunity to be demeaned by a coward of a man. I pray that he treats his employees better than his customers. Please spread the word and share this post. This town is small and I would encourage you not to give this man your business. …oh and also, new campaign name: #gosomewhereelse

My fiancé and I went to Arturo’s for dinner on Friday night, we sat at a high top in the bar area & were able to sit right away. We ordered the #4 pizza) chicken, red peppers, gorgonzola etc) which looked delicious but tasted like absolutely nothing! Could not have been more flavorless! We also split the caesar salad which was very meh… dressing is more oily than creamy & the romaine was a little brown. We both had 2 glasses of wine & did not think the bill was worth the $ 50. We will be back to Arturo’s for a drink but that is all!

I feel like my thoughts are well in line with the majority on this one. Food was ok. Waitress was very good. The drinks were decent. Noise and atmosphere were good. But, there wasn’t anything that really stood out, especially for the price(slightly above average). We went on their prime rib night, which, normally, I’m really into. The cut of the meat was decently sized, but was super fatty. I know prime rib normally has a fatty section, but the cut of meat I received was on the above average side of fatty. I will say that it was cooked very well. I’m looking forward to giving Arturo Joe’s another go sometime in the near future, and will amend my review if needed.

Classic Rhode Island restaurant. Decent place in Newport, there definitely a lot better places in the Newport area. I will say though, the service here was fantastic. Very attentive to our needs including more bread for our group and always having our drink filled. The sauces were good, but the pasta could have been much better. all in all a decent experience.

Four stars might be slightly generous for this place but based on my experience tonight I was happy with everything. This place is average in every sense of the word. It is like every other Italian American restaurant you can think of and follows suit with respect to décor, menu, food quality, service, and price. There was no wait probably because people don’t want Italian when they are down the beach but we were sat as soon as we walked in. It took too long in my opinion to be greeted by our sever but from there on it was flawless. Food came out as ordered, was hot and tasted average which was all I was expecting. Atmosphere is what you would expect friendly and relaxing. Service was the same, not bad not great. Long story short if you are looking for a casual night out and are sick of the tourist traps down here check this place out.

It’s been quite some time since I posted a review! Let’s start with a new discovery that is very easy for me to say good things about. Arturo Joe’s… not a place you would THINK of having good food. Maybe some good american burgers or a burrito or something. But guess what? You’d be mistaken! This place has some of the finest Italian dishes around: various types of pastas, meats, and seafood. Sounds like Olive Garden? Maybe… but the food doesn’t taste synthetic here. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. If they told me they made everything from scratch including the pasta I’d believe them. Ironically, I came here one day and they had a special for chicken pot pie. Originally in the mood for some clam angel hair pasta I quickly made the switch to try out one of my favorite dishes at what can easily become my favorite restaurant in the state(well almost anyways!). It took a while longer to get to me but the crust was crispy and flakey(perfection!) and the inside of the pie itself was well proportioned with meats and vegetables and excellently seasoned. I wish this was on the menu! They have a bar area and sit down seating as well giving you very different types of experiences with the same foods. Just a warning, you’d drive right past here if you didn’t know where to look. Plenty of parking and prices are reasonable!

I have read a few reviews about this place and I can’t understand where people are coming from. I think this is the kind of place that locals rave about because they are used to eating below average food for decades. I think the place is awful. I went in and sat at the bar with a group of people. The setup is awful and the décor gives off a weird former 80’s décor cheaply renovated. Over priced crappy mixed drinks, and the bar staff comes strolling in and are loud and unprofessional. I usually like very laid back places, but I think this place caters to the same 30 people that go in there and then treat the rest like strangers. Lastly and it deserves to be last is the food. I ordered this supposedly famous Calamari Giovanni. It wasn’t bad but there was no squid in the dish, all filler of mushrooms and tomatoes. Now the worst part of this visit the 3 meat pizza. This was totally disgusting. My wife got sick. How do you screw up a pizza??? Gross. This place has been around for decades and I think this is only because of 2 reasons. A. There really is no where else to go and eat in the immediate area. B. The owner may own the strip mall that the restaurant resides in and his costs are low. Either way the food was awful or portioned cheaply and the bar feels like a crappy version of something that is supposed to be upscale. My suggestion would be to go to the Chophouse Grill in Wakefield. Pay a few bucks more and get something of quality. Thanks
