Narberth Pharmacy

I live a few blocks away, and really wanted to support this local pharmacy. Unfortunately, the pharmacist is rude and unhelpful. My daughter had 5 prescriptions that needed to be filled yesterday. Two of them were almost $ 200 each, so I asked if they could wait for me to either get a coupon or find a generic solution. When I went to pick up, I asked about the generics that our allergist had recommended. She told me that in fact that was a completely different drug from what we wanted. She acted as if I was asking for heart medication to treat my allergies. I left and asked my allergist to call in some generics for us. My allergist did say that the generics were not exactly the same, but that they were similar and would treat the same symptoms. So my husband went to pick up the medicines today and when he told her who he was picking up for, she said rudely, «yeah? well what do you want?»…“I have like a million scrips for you guys. I don’t even know what you guys want.” etc. Five is like a million? If we are so much trouble because we would prefer to investigate another less expensive option for 2 of our prescriptions, then we will take our business elsewhere. If you want to be a successful mom-​and-​pop shop in a small town, surrounded by and competing with big box pharmacies, you need to at least have decent customer service.

They are friendly and fast here! We transferred our prescriptions to the Narberth Pharmacy two years ago and love being able to walk in and get our prescriptions within a few minutes. They know us and have always been extremely helpful. I’m very glad to be able to keep my pharmacy money in the local economy, even as our health insurance company is pestering us to switch over to some online conglomerate.

Look, i know the place is small. And the newstand is dusty with very few newspapers. And the gummy candy looks like it’s been hanging on the shelf for such a long time that it’s hardened. But. This place delivers. And they are so so so nice about it.
How can you not like a place that delivers and is nice about it? You must give it great kudos. Great great kudos. I know they have faults but when you have multiple kids, to wait in the freakin pharmacy while a prescription is filled, even it’s only for ten minutes, can be Hell… trust me. You dont have to try, just trust me. And if you can run in, drop off prescription and they BRING IT BACK to your house when it is done, well, that’s gold I tell you. Gold.
