Very disappointed over this particular restaurant. Arrived early for a 645 reservations waited 30 minutes to sit down. Dumpling’s were small but okay. Crab corn soup has neither crab or corn in it. When we asked to speak to the manager she came over after 20 minutes and said that crab is very expensive and walked away. We all found this to be rude. This restaurant is understaffed and the food is just okay. Customer service is terrible. Our group will not be returning there are to many good restaurants in the area… Three thumbs down!!!

Decent Chinese food. The Peking duck was nice but you could spread that plum sauce on the floor of the last Saturday night LIRR train to Long Island and I would eat it.(Maybe that is slightly hyperbolic, I probably wouldn’t do that because I don’t want the plague, but you get it) I thought the dumplings were above average, didn’t care for the fried rice. They lose a star for this — it was raining the night we went and their«umbrella stand» was an empty tub of MSG. See my picture, which was literally the first thing I saw when I walked in. Points deducted for the MSG in and of itself and points deducted for such silly goosery.

Worst Chinese food I have ever had. Bland. The rice was unbelievably bad. And all this just so overpriced.

We went to O’mei last night and experienced the worst! Not only was the food less than mediocre, the owner was worse! When told that the soup dumplings were inedible, she argued that it was the«specialty of the house» She made no effort to make us feel comfortable or offer us another menu choice. She even returned to our table to continue the argument! Terrible experience!

We had a great experience, asked for Egg Drop Soup, it wasn’t on the menu, but they made it special for us… Some of the best we have had in a long time. We had the chicken with mushrooms and broccoli. The sauce was a light but extremely flavorful white sauce. Our service was wonderful and the servers where on top of everything! We will definitely be back!!!

Best Town Great —North Naples location, I am a regular with 6 or 7 visits, Great Food, Good Service, Clean Nice Atmosphere, the Peking Duck is wonderful, and priced well for the quality of food… Good for a nice dinner for 2 or small group. I am a local and try to avoid the snowbirders, this location seems to be more of a local younger crowd…

Terrible!!! Worst experience have had in years. Totally ruined a birthday dinner for my wife we had with 6 of our friends. Here is a list things that went wrong: table not ready for us; took 15 minutes to set the table; 15 more minutes to have someone come to the table; he told us the previous waitress walked out as «her head was going to explode»; no drinks served; finally found the waiter; he said things were a mess because the owner«screwed up» as there were too many reservations and not enough staff; he agreed we should leave as things were going to continue downhill. Needless to say, we decided to take heed to his word and left and went next door to Sam Bucco restaurant where we were served magnificently by the owner himself. Omei is an «evening killer». Thank God for Sam Bucco

Had several bad experiences with service and being short changed on the dishes. We only would go for the duck which is solid. There rude and cheap. If you want to pay for fried noodles this is the place for you.

Had a great experience! I have some food allergies that makes dining out a challenge. Our server Morgan made great recommendations — had the Wok Tup Chicken, it was light and perfectly cooked, and the Mu Shu Pork, which was fantastic. Even the sweet tea was above average. Food came out quickly and Morgan made sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be back!

Three of us had dinner at O’Meii earlier this month. We each enjoyed our entrees, the service was good(delightful waiter) and there was a nice ambience. Each entrée was served with a small bowl of rice. We asked if we could have more rice after we had eaten what we had. The answer was«yes» for $ 3 more for each LITTLE bowl. How petty can you be! The waiter agreed and told us we were not the first to be amazed at this charge. For this reason we would not go back.

Gave the place 4 tries. One lunch. Was ok. Since there are noooooo good Chinese restaurants in Naples, so the lunch was fine. Peking Dick? Unheard of here. Tried it and found it to be Nothing like the real thing. Bad, bad. Then another time for dinner. 8pm, 2 tables occupied. Had Crispy duck that came as sliced, breaded fat with about 10 percent meat. A soggy mess. Totally unacceptable. Companion ordered Chilean Sea Bass. A plate of thin sliced white fish overcooked and totally tasteless. Even the sauce was bland. $ 21.50??? Not even worth commenting further. We love Chinese soup dumplings. Had them at the first lunch. Good. The next 3 times, they were sold out, none available in a restaurant that was virtually empty except at lunch time. Save your money and go to the nearest restaurant with the word Wok in it’s name. For less than $ 20 you will get acceptable food instead of forking over $ 80.00.

Finding Asian food spots in Naples that are decent is hard. My parents like this place so we came here when I got in for dinner. The space is nicer than your average Chinese spot, and the prices match that. We tried to order a few dishes but they were sold out of almost everything we tried to get — weekend after Christmas left their inventory low. I really wanted to try the crab soup dumplings — I have an unhealthy obsession with soup dumplings — but they didn’t have them or most of the dumplings. We were able to score some spicy dumplings, the crispy noodles, kung pao chicken and mango shrimp. We wanted spicy, savory dishes but didn’t get that. The dishes had flavor but weren’t spicy at all, and the dishes were sweeter than we wanted. We did try to make that clear but it didn’t seem to carry through to the dishes. Food was good — I loved the noodle dish and the dumplings we could get were decent. Definitely have had better Chinese with more robust flavors elsewhere but we are in Naples and I understand making dishes different to accommodate their local audience.

A ludicrous excuse for a restaurant. Abysmal customer service. We were placing a large order, and several dishes required minor alterations in order to accommodate dietary restrictions/preferences. The restaurant refused to change any order, including replacing shrimp and chicken in the pineapple fried rice with tofu and leaving out egg, as well as replacing the white sauce for a brown sauce in another dish. Management refused to budge with any of these minor modifications. Charlie Chiang’s is much friendlier, the food is fantastic, and they are accommodating for people with dietary preferences/restrictions.

We came for Christmas Eve dinner, looking to uphold our family tradition of Peking duck for our first Christmas in Florida. We had a reservation, but upon arriving at the restaurant and ordering a duck, we were informed that we would have had to preorder. No mention of the preorder was made when we made the reservation. It was very disappointing. Moreover, many of the items we tried to order off the menu, such as the calamari and string beans, were«unavailable» because of the holiday. The food we did order was very good, and the service was fast and friendly. All told, O mei should provide a special holiday menu if they are going to restrict their menu so drastically.

To be fair, we went on the Friday night after the Monday opening of their Naples location so maybe that is why the service was so poor, but in my humble opinion that is not an excuse. Our server was clueless about the dishes and the food was verrrry slow. My husband and I got there about 8:45 and were there for two hours and we did not order dessert. The hostess, who I believe is the owner, is not the least bit engaging with customers. She barked out«tell them to order a vegetable side!» when our waiter asked her if my dish had any vegetables in it. I had the Four Seasons Spicy Prawns which were pretty good. There is nothing else on the plate, but the prawns themselves were cooked well and there were plenty of them(5 or so). My husband got a vegetable side dish. In all, the food was OK, but we weren’t overly impressed and we so wanted to be as we could walk to the location if we wanted to. Will give it another try in a few months.

READTHISFIRST! I have tried this location Two times since it opened(and the other location once). I did not write a review for the first time because they were clearly not ready. I was soo hoping that the food would lead the way here and the food is «decent» with«promise» but defiantly needs work. Service: However in this case the service lead the way with how bad it was not from just one server but all three servers on at that time and the hostess who wouldn’t engage anyone and deferred to the servers even for greeting and seating. I believe she is an owner so that is a massive misgiving in customer relations. Every server seemed that this was their first day without training. We had to order 4 times. Then they came back and told me that one of the dishes was unavailable. We were about 40 minutes in at that point with no food and the first dish that came out was wrong. Contrary to what I would expect at a highend Chinese restaurant, places are not set with chopsticks nor do they serve tea(at least they didn’t in our case). I did see another table get fried wontons but they were not offered to us. We were one of three tables, one for each server and each table was struggling to get service. I’ll forgo the full extent of the service issues except to say it might be the single worst experience I have had, with our server getting nearly everything they did wrong. Not one server there was a professional grade server or even competent. At those prices it is unacceptable. It will be the down fall of the restaurant if not dealt with immediately and seriously. Every customer there was fighting their own battles with service. Food: We went to give it a test run/try out for a place to have out Christmas Eve Dinner(which was typically Chinese for us starting when we were young and broke, because it could be good food at good prices and there are no crowds Christmas Eve in Chinese restaurants). We were keen to try the dumplings and«soup» dumplings which were executed perfectly but were simply«ok» for flavor. As part of the presentation for those, they put a thin slice of carrot under the dumpling before steaming it. This is peculiar because it totally changes the flavor of the dumpling even if peeled off making it much sweeter and offering a limp crunch and aspects that are non-traditional nor needed. I was told the dumplings are made in house and I don’t doubt that simply by how nice the Jade(shrimp) Dumplings came out from a fresh and textural aspect. However, I would like to see thinner dough on the dumplings. That being the trick because it makes them more difficult to make and more fragile to prepare and serve but it lets you taste the ingredients that much more. Clearly one of the traits of a good dumpling. There are a several other dishes that I can review but I’d be wasting my time and yours because I cannot recommend this restaurant in its current form. I sincerely hope this review helps and they get their act together because we need good dumplings and dim sum in this town but the service is a «FAIL» and the food although shows promise is not worth the money at its current level. (You might temp me back there soon if you hire even adaquate servers, put a good Sesame Noodle on the menu and more dim sum)

O’Mei came upon recommendation and an invitation from co-workers. I was most excited about getting back to the reality and culture of family-style Chinese restaurants, and O’Mei brings it to the table. I was most skeptical by the previous reviews. However, I noticed that a few years have lapsed since most of the bad reviews were posted. Glad to know that they’ve taken that time to improve. Our table of 6 people pre-ordered the Peking duck, as they knew to make the order with the reservation. The roasted duck takes 40 minutes to make. After it is prepared, they bring the entire duck out for viewing for the wow factor and patron approval, and then they bring it back to cut it up into pieces. The beautifully roasted duck was prepared just the way one would like it. The meat had a nice texture, wasn’t dry, and the skin was nice and crispy. What made this special, is that the duck was accompanied with«pancakes»(more of a rice-type tortilla) in a steam basket, a thick hoisin molasses-like sweet sauce, and julienned scallions. The other guests decided to request it not salty, but I’m afraid it lended itself to lack of flavor without all the accoutrements. I’m sure that I’d they prepared it a little more salt to enhance the flavor like they probably already do, I would have been more apt to try it by itself with rice. But it’s definitely a must try. $ 39.99 goes a long way for 6 people. While waiting for the duck, I ordered carrot cream soup, and the table shared, scallion pancakes, and steam dumplings. We also enjoyed curry tofu and vegetables, Singapore rice noodles, and Mongolian beef. The main dishes typically run from $ 15-$ 20. I just wish there was a tad bit more to go around for a family-style dish. All dishes were just as lovely as the duck. I would have to say that the curry tofu and vegetables were my favorite out of the lot. They had some great flavor infused in the tofu, and the texture of the tofu was silky and decadent. It isn’t like the tofu where you question what you just ate. Service tended to be a tad bit slow, so don’t expect it to like a Chinese buffet conveyor belt style service where your water is always filled and they can’t wait to push you out the door. So, take your time. Engage in conversation. Enjoy the experience. This place is worth coming back to, because they really do serve quality items all in all. I’m still trying to look for that true authenticity of Chinese restaurants, but I should just come to terms that I live in Naples and not in a city that has multiple Chinatowns. I’ll definitely have to try this place again. Their lunch specials at $ 8.95 are calling me back.
