I love going to local bakeries especially during the holidays. Bread is so great especially when its fresh during the holiday season to eat with soups, panini sandwiches and all of that greatness!!! Breadman understands this. The bread man is dangerously good! I had the cinnamon swirl bread loaf and ate the whole loaf in one day. I made french toast for breakfast and it was fantastic. Lunch I had a thanksgiving sandwich with a slice of apple, goat cheese, turkey, arugula and the bread was so heavenly. DANGEROUS! Dinner I found myself using the cinnamon bread with my soup. LOL, I mean I can go on!!! I have no self control and the bread man is worth every calorie and every effort! They have a wonderful selection and everything is made simple to the core of ingredients. Everything is always super fresh and they are extremely friendly and helpful. My sister drives from Frankfort, IL just to go pick up loafs of white bread from his Naperville location. This is the best bread ever.

Delicious, wholesome bread with a handful of real ingredients! Met the baker at Lincoln Square Thursday night Farmers Market, great guy with knowledge and integrity. And how awesome to know the man who makes your child’s bread?! No more supermarket bread for us!

My husband and I are super addicted to the Raisin Cinnamon Swirl bread — it is exactly the way bread should be. All natural ingredients that we actually know/have heard of. We usually buy the bread at Urban Orchard in Andersonville — but most recently have been visiting the Breadman booth at the Andersonville farmers’ market. On a recent trip to Urban Orchard(after we grazed through a loaf in under 2 days), I was saddened to find that there were no loaves available for sale. Though I did find an oatmeal raisin cookie from Breadman. Holy heavens, I have never EVER had an oatmeal raisin cookie THAT good. My husband didn’t want to get it — but once I opened the giant cookie up, he had 75% of it. ANDHEDOESN’T EVENLIKEOATMEALRAISIN. I love this little company and see big, big things happening for them! :)

I’ve never been to Naperville, but there’s always a representative at the Lincoln Square farmer’s market(tuesday morning). The bread is amazing and delicious. Easily the best loaf of whole wheat available nearby, and the challah and cinnamon swirl are also delicious. I’m sure everything else is equally delicious, but for my family it’s the whole wheat bread that we need for toast and sandwiches.

Love Love LOVE this bread. My 3yr old son and I walk over to the PR farmers market every Saturday morning and we never leave it without at least a loaf of cinnamon swirl bread in tow. We’ve tried the cinnamon swirl, with and without raisins, wheat, tomato basil, pumpkin and I also placed an order for 4 dozen rolls for my 6mo old’s baptism luncheon, which were perfect and fresh for the prime rib that went into them! I’m not sure what we’re going to do once the farmers market ends…

The Great Chocolate Chip Cookie Search continues. Did I really schlep all the way out to Naperville just to buy a cookie? Hell no! This outfit can be found at a few North Side farmers’ markets such as the Saturday morning Northcenter market and the Wednesday evening Andersonville market. Any baker who puts oatmeal in their chocolate-chip cookie already has a leg up on the competition. This version is a little dry perhaps, but tastes fantastic. Everything in the right proportion, not to mention the size of a small dinner plate! A first-rate cookie, this one definitely makes the list.
