Small, clean restaurant managed by one chef(I believe) with a good amount of seating for the size. The sushi here is fresh and super delicious. Try the Sushi pizza!

I am obsessed with this place. The udon soup is delicious and I love their Rodoff roll. You can’t get anything like it anywhere else. I’ve easily eaten here over 100 times in the past few years, and the sushi is always fresh. the restaurant is always clean. The owners know how much I like extra Pablo breadcrumbs and always include them in my order. I don’t even have to ask; it’s awesome.

I love this place! This is my favorite sushi place close to home, and I’ve been to many places. Have only gotten the chance to go two times, months apart, but was surprised that the super sweet owner remembered us, saying«long time no see!» with a smile as we sat down. The sushi is so great and the prices are reasonable, my favorite thing is the takoyaki as its pretty hard to find around here and theirs is amazing. I just love the owners and the atmosphere too. On the outside it looks tiny and run down but inside is super clean, cozy, and comfortable. And the service is great as the owner loves to chat and joke around. When she saw i was pulling out my phone to take a picture of the food she cried, «wait wait wait!!» and began aranging the plates and glasses of beer appealingly on the table. She said she always made people wait to eat while she took pictures of food too so she understood me x) Go to this place! Theyre the best c:

I still have a lot more to try, but I’ll def be back. The donkey kong roll is a must. It sounds spicy but it isn’t. It is delicious. Every person must get it. And the rice bowls are killer. I had the sashimi bowl and it was great! So much sashimi it was ridiculous! Can’t wait til I come back.

Teensy-weensy place in an unlikely location but very good sushi at a very reasonable price. Hope coming here for the food, not the ambience

Cutest little sushi spot in a strip mall. Dont let the exterior scare you away. Key things to try: The Monkey roll, Miso soup, and spicy scallop roll. Everything was fresh, served quickly and had great flavor. The prices of the rolls were perfect & while waiting for our bill we received a cup each of this sweat peachy type of hot tea. Delcious. Service here was great, the woman who owns the place is friendly and came around to talk to us which i liked.

In Nanuet on business and stopped in for dinner based on the Unilocal reviews. I wasn’t disappointed! Enjoyed two excellent rolls, the Sexy Roll, and the Dynamite Roll. Both were very good! The place isn’t much for ambience, but the food and service were excellent, and the pricing very good. Highly recommended!

Amazing sushi! Cute comfortable atmosphere. Very friendly staff who remembers you when you come back and makes you feel special! Very reasonable prices! I’ve tried every sushi place in the nanuet/spring valley/suffern/bardonia area and I must say, world sushi is my favorite! You can’t go wrong by stopping in!

My favorite sushi place, EVER. Been enjoying World Sushi for close to 8 years now. Consistent high quality ingredients, freshest fish, and unique tastes. I’ve been to numerous sushi places in NJ and NYC and none have lived up to World Sushi. The owners are the sweetest couple and will make you feel at home :) Recommendations: Godzilla roll, donkey kong roll, butter crunch roll, samba roll!

Stopped in today for take-out while running errands. A friend of mine is a big fan of this place, and despite living in Nanuet for many years, I never went in! I assumed it was going to be a little hole-in-the-wall, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that the décor was actually quite pretty, and the space(albeit small) is much larger than what I expected from the outside. I ordered a naruto roll(no rice, wrapped in cucumber) called a Sashimi Roll and it had tuna, yellowtail, salmon, tobiko, and avocado inside. The fish was fresh and delicious. Usually when I order a naruto roll, the cucumber is sliced a little thinner than they did it here at World, but I actually liked it a little thicker because it stayed together much easier. I also had a side of edamame, but that’s pretty hard to mess up. It was $ 14. I’ll have to come back with my husband for dinner — we’re a little sushi-snobbish when it comes to good quality fish and because of it we’re particular about where we go. I’m excited to come back. They also have the most adorable website and some unique items on the menu I’d like to try.

Don’t judge this book by its modest, low-rent cover. This sushi restaurant is top-notch. Not only do the owners actually work in the place — always a plus — but sushi is made with care and attention to detail. The dragon and wasabi butter crunch rolls are delicious and well-decorated, and the pieces of fish are sufficiently tender to melt in your mouth. I love the décor: cozy, yet trendy; I can spend hours relaxing here. The waitress was sporting traditional Japanese attire(I believe it was indeed a Kimono, but forgive me if I’m wrong). The price is moderate, but can quickly skyrocket if you are not careful. The ambiance is very peaceful and you may treat it as your palace of solitude with a side of green tea. I certainly have. Overall, a diamond in the rough.

Looks can be deceiving… in the tiny strip mall houses some of the best Sushi of Nanuet! Seating has been expanded, but it’s also an ideal ‘take-out’ spot. Their«combo» rolls are excellent, and help fill you up without wringing your wallet dry. Personal favorite roll is the«wasabi butter crunch»… mmm! The owners have started adding Korean food to the menu, which is FANTASTIC!!!(Pork buns!!) Note: If you’re looking for frilly, designer sushi that looks pretty, then shop elsewhere. But if you’re looking for a good quality, tasty, and filling meal, then definitely make your way to World Sushi!

Wasabi clearly squirted out of a tube. Sashimi roll with a cucumber wrapper so thick that the contents fell out. A completely untidy spicy tuna roll with tons of mayo squishing out. Alaska roll with cucumber in it(not common, but I’ve seen it) but huge pieces of unpeeled cucumber. I had to pick it out because the cucumber skin was so thick. The server literally asked for my order when I sat down and then asked for it again literally 2 minutes later. In the time it took me to jot down this paragraph she came over and tried to take my still-half-full dish away. Fish was alright but absolutely not mindblowing. Messy rolls, poor ingredient prep, and frustrating service. Not recommended.

The takoyaki appetizer here is really good. I think they fry them which creates a tastier texture. Sometimes, traditional takoyaki can be too mushy. The sushi is fresh and all right. Not world class or anything. But satisfying nevertheless. Don’t order the tempura. The batter was too heavy, a la korean-style twighim. Not good. We accidentally came upon this place after an unsuccessful attempt to attend the Bear Mountain Octoberfest. Bear Mountain was packed. The wife and I cannot deal with people mayhem. So we just drove past and ended up here. Which was good because I see myself coming back to this place.

I stopped in for sushi to go on the basis of the reviews here and was not disappointed. I ordered unagi, himachi and saba nigiri, and a spicy tuna roll. The nigiri was so fresh and the roll was different than I know them from California: this spicy tuna was mixed with that decadent type mayonnaise I know from California Rolls. It was superb. If I’m ever back in Nanuet or environs I’d love a second meal.

You will drive past this place, I promise you. But you’ll turn around because if you don’t, then you’ll be missing out on some of the best sushi in the area. World Sushi is located in a stripmall but in the parking lot of a bigger stripmall. Stay with me… enter the Kohl’s stripmall on Route 59 and bang a sharp right. You’ll see the Palisades Urgent Center in front of you. World Sushi is to the right of that building in a very small row of stores. You can’t see the front of the stores from that angle — you have to drive up what looks like a curb in order to get to the front. Can you see why I missed this place not once but twice? I will credit my man 100% for discovering World Sushi. This small restaurant was absolutely fantastic and he outdid himself yet again. World Sushi offers a plethora of regular rolls, specialty rolls, and pieces. We ordered a variety of everything and we were«oohing» and«ahhing» the entire time… generous sized rolls, not heavy on the rice, and the fish was the perfect temperature and insanely fresh. Cold sushi really tweaks my melons but World Sushi nailed it. They also offer several varieties of sake and beer, which is nice considering the BYOB concept becomes tiring at times. Sometimes I just want a friggen Sapporo and I may not realize it until I get there. World Sushi seems to be a favorite among the locals, as the friendly owners greeted everyone by name when they entered. Service was hospitable and we left very satisfied. I have a feeling that King James and I will soon become regulars too.

I wish I could give World Sushi double the amount of stars allowed. This place is a great sushi restaurant not just for Rockland County but in general. It’s casual and low-key but the quality is 5 stars! I eat here often and that’s because I can’t get enough. The lunch specials are affordable and delicious. Since i work close by, I’ve convinced almost all my sushi-eating co workers to also try it only to become instant fans. Dinner is just as good. Try the sushi pizza as an appetizer… You won’t be disappointed. The sushi is affordable, fresh and consistent. I’ve also found that there are two different types of Sushi restaurants; there’s those that serve your standard spicy tuna, dragon and Philadelphia rolls. And then there are those places that serve sushi creations. World Sushi is the latter. Such as the Donkey Kong roll which incorporates a fried banana artfully displayed on top giving your salmon roll a kick. The Samba roll which has mango in it. And then there’s the Moscow roll… One of the pricier rolls on the menu at $ 12 but worth every penny. It’s one of those rolls that as soon as you bite it, your eyes widen. It’s literally a mouth full! I could go on and on but what good will that do. Go try it!!! I also have to note how great the service is. This is the kind of place, owned by a husband and wife duo(Chris & Nicole), that you are greeted with a friendly smile, waited on and remembered. They’ll remember your name and your order! You have nothing to loose and only a belly full of awesome sushi to gain! Enjoy!

Very nice people behind the counter. Larger than it looks from the outside, World Sushi is very comfortable inside with indirect lighting, comfortable chairs, and quiet enough to enjoy a meal. Sushi was pretty good. Rolls were quite small and not very tight. Reasonable prices on the the usual sushi shop fare. Not the best but pretty good and I will certainly go back again soon.
