Dave’s Appliance / Action Heating & Air

Had a flame sensor go out on my residential furnace. I called action heating and cooling. They showed up in a Dave’s appliance truck. Apparently they also go under the name superior heating and cooling. I told the guy what was wrong and showed him the furnace. he confirmed the diagnosis in about five or 10 minutes, and said it would cost me $ 277 to fix it. I’ve done this task before, I just didn’t have the part or the time. the part is less than $ 40 retail, probably half that his cost roughly. I told him I don’t mind paying a higher price for service, but that was just way too high. He said «I don’t set the prices» so I called his office and they agreed to a $ 150 repair. once he talked to his office he refused to do the work for that price. I paid him his $ 88 trip charge under protest and sent him on his way. I drove down the street and paid $ 38 for the part and had another heating company install it in five minutes literally. They charged me 50 bucks labor. I hate to see any business taking advantage of consumers with outrageous service fees.

I DO NOT recommend Dave’s Appliance/​Action Heating & Air. The service I received was poor and my bill was much higher than other businesses.
Integrity is not part of this businesses daily practice. Dave’s is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau. In fact, their rating is an F.
