This place has a variety of ice cream flavors, as well as various flavored shaved ice and mini melts(like dipping dots but made of real ice cream.). I had the Booty Freeze which is shaved ice with minis above and below. The orange shaved ice with vanilla minis is delicious, but next time I’ll have it with sweetened condensed milk on top. Naturally, I surrendered my booty. Four stars for being out of sweetened condensed milk.

I think this is the best place in OBX for ice cream, and the people here are are some of the friendliest around They even give your furkids a bit of ice cream

Love love love this place! This is a must have every time I go to the outer banks. The place is super unique with its own loft upstairs where you can hang out with your friends and family. The delicious«booty treat» is something you must try before you leave, and don’t forget to meet the awesome owner. He is incredibly kind and works very hard every day to keep happy customers in and out the door. Hard work pays off!

Great place to grab some yummy frozen treats! === THEGOOD === Shaved Ice. Both my toddler and my mother-in-law had a shaved ice and enjoyed it. They let you pick up to three flavors for the listed price, so both were adventurous with their flavor selections. Kid’s Size. They have both a kid’s size shaved ice and a kid’s size ice cream and they charge accordingly. This is a nice option in an area that could otherwise just say that«small» is the smallest they serve. Ice Cream Flavors. They serve Hershey’s ice cream(not to be confused with the chocolate company) and had flavors I’ve never heard of. They give you a nice size sample of anything you’re interested in before making your final decision. Don’t be surprised if you end up getting one scoop each of two different flavors because you can’t decide. === THEBAD === Music. The place is kind of small and they music is a touch on the loud side. Not really a good opportunity to sit and enjoy the treats you bought. Probably best to head outside and enjoy. Easy to Miss. Make sure you put the address in your GPS because you can easily drive right by this place and not realize you missed it. It’s kind of small(see above) and crowded by some larger beach homes, so keep your eyes open!

Best ice cream in OBX. Our family hot spot after dinner. Mint chocolate chip and cappuccino crunch you can’t go wrong. Milkshakes are banging too.

This place is cute and small. They were amazing with our peanut allergy. I love them just for that. The ice cream is Hershey’s, nothing amazing, that is why I gave them 4 stars. But they get 5 stars for great service.

If you’re in obx and don’t go to DQ, that’s your fault. They have awesome varieties, Hersheys ice cream flavors, Ben and jerrys style dippin dots, best strawberry shaved ice ever. And there’s a pool table upstairs with foosball and a few games. Don’t come here because they’re super fast, you come here because it’s delicious. This was for the kill devil hills location, but I’m sure this is good as well.

I’ve never had shave ice so delicious! Most places hand you chunky ice that is too course to hold the flavor anywhere but at the bottom, but not Booty Treats! Their ice is like fresh fallen snow that holds flavor the whole way through and melts in your mouth. The mini melts are the finishing touch that makes this place, in a word, AWESOME!

The nice girls working here recommended the sour apple shaved ice paired with cotton candy dippin dots style ice cream and it was DELICIOUS! This place is good! And corn hole out front. Definitely a nice place to bring the family.

Very cool little beach front ice cream joint. Great shaved ice, milkshakes and fresh made ice cream cookie sandwiches. A great break from a warm spring day at the beach. Highly recommended!

I’d be back. They have some good ice options and do some things with Dippin’ Dot type ice cream. Only crack on the place is the wannabe hip, but entirely unreadable menu board. Other reviewers note it and it’s a pain if you’re a first timer or have no idea what you want. The employees could smile every once in a while. I could’t tell if they were hostages or not. I was thinking I might ask them to blink if they needed help, but a girl went to her car for something and came back so… must be there voluntarily?

This place is awesome. They have shaved ice, ice cream, and mini-melts(basically«dippin’ dots»); and you can combine whatever you’d like(the shaved ice + mini-melt combo is the best). Be sure to look at the suggested combination recipes on the wall to get an idea about what might be good!

My family and I love Booty Treats and make an annual stop here on our vacation. We tend to stick to the shaved ices. The large ones are really large and will melt quickly on a hot night. You can customize flavors as well. With a name like Booty Treats, how can you go wrong?

Lots of young girls working on a Saturday night. Pretty busy at 9:00pm. The ice cream was okay. The service was a bit slow… their system didn’t seem to make any sense — they seemed unorganized and standing around while lots of people were waiting in line. The funny name brought us in, but the underwhelming ice cream and service would keep us away next time. The coolest things were the wooden stools and a good sound system of music playing.

I came her with my two friends. The ice cream was very expensive. If you’re on a tight budget, I’d prefer you buy a carton of ice cream instead. Preferably Ben & Jerry’s Rocky Road with sprinkles. Very inappropriate name. Not cool.

Tourist trap. Unilocal should give me stars for keeping people away from this place. First off, good luck understanding what they even offer or reading the tiny menu board. I still don’t know what a majority of what they offer even is. Clearly part of their allure is confusing customers into overpriced fare. Since I was weary of getting anything that I didn’t know what the hell it was, I settled for a chocolate shake. I couldn’t get through half of it before it found the bottom of the trash bin. The claim they use Hershey’s ice cream. I saw them swapping out fresh for an empty, and unless my eyes deceived me – it wasn’t Hershey’s – rather some food service knock off. Stay away unless you want a t-shirt for a topic of conversation back home.

With a name like booty treats, how can you not be a fan? There’s something here for everyone: flavored shaved ice, Hershey’s ice cream, mini melts(like Dippin’ Dots), sundae options. On this late night visit, we both tried booty freezes, which are like a volcano of shaved ice with your choice of mini melts as the lava. I was like a fat kid in a candy store when I found out that I could combine cookie dough and cookies ‘n cream for the mini melt portion of my treat. As for the shaved ice, I tried the egg custard, and it tasted a bit like neutral dairy and a bit like vanilla pudding, though I can definitely say I wasn’t expecting it to be orange. The man behind the counter was extremely pleasant and happy to give us the run down on the options when we walked in. You’ll notice tons of colored index cards posted on the wall and ceiling too; those are customer created combinations with their own titles. P. S. They also have frequent buyer punch cards!

All the Unilocal reviews led me to believe this place would be super good but I am underwhelmed. I also wanted to try it simply for the namesake. Booty Treats. hehe. This small little ice cream place was located a stone’s throw away from where my friend & I were staying at during vacation. When we walked up, the parking lot was pretty much dead. We thought it was closed. Unilocal says it opens at 3pm, but the day we visited(a Wednesday), it opened at 1pm. Unilocal you lie to me! You walk in to a door that looks like it leads into a house. This led to a little bit of confusion on our part. We kinda just stood there and stared at the door for a second. After making the plunge and walking in, we were greeted by two awkward and pretty unenthusiastic employees. We perused the menu and I decided on a double scoop ice cream cone, with a scoop of oatmeal cookie ice cream and cake batter ice cream. Tasty but nothing special. They serve Hershey’s ice cream so I could’ve pretty much bought it from the grocery store, which is why I’m leaving a 3-star review. If it’s something I can buy or make myself, then I’m really not interested. They do have ice cream sandwiches which I’d be interested in trying, though. My friend got the Peach Booty Freeze with vanilla mini-melts. She wasn’t blown away but she did like it. There seems to be a lot of shaved ice options so I would think that would probably be the way to go. Prices are decent. They also sell their own t-shirts. The store itself is pretty tiny and kinda awkward. I wouldn’t eat inside there unless I wanted to have a stare-down with the employees. Outside, the picnic tables are a little dirty and the only trashcans available are the ones that belong to the surrounding rental properties.

We stopped here after dinner one evening and didn’t really know what to expect. The handscooped ice cream was really good but the mini melts which were similar to dip and dots were just ok. I noticed a lot of people mentioned the booty freeze root beer float so I decided to get one. It was basically root beer shaved iced and vanilla mini melts. I didn’t think it lived up to the hype but I would be willing to go back and try more of the hand scooped ice cream. The prices were pretty average and the people working there were nice. I would highly recommend their scooped ice cream as they are rich in flavor.
