For some reason, there aren’t really any nice stops on US 59 in Nacogdoches. Don’t ask me why. With all the personal travel that runs up and down that highway, I’d expect lots of people would want to make use of a high end rest stop in this town. This Shell station is OK in terms of stops. It’s not too grubby and has a selection of road food and drinks. The bathroom is odd in that it has black fixtures, but things seem to be relatively clean. The Dickey’s BBQ adjoining the place makes it all smell heavenly. I stop here when nature calls and/​or I need a snack.
