Haven’t been here in a while, but it is just as good as I remembered. If you have never been here it is order anything on the menu board for one price. Everything is home cooking and delicious. The current menus is as follows: Fried Pork Chops or Chicken Gravy and rice Stewed tomatoes Cabbage Mac & Cheese Corn Green Beans Lima Beans And of course Peach Cobbler & ice cream. And now I slip into my food coma.

Home cooking. Good food, they even let you get a second helping if you want, just like eatin’ at moms! Nothing special on outside or décor, seat yourself and when it’s busy eat with and get to know a stranger. Friendly atmosphere.

This is great Southern comfort, really at its finest. It’s endless except for the deviled eggs. The fried chicken and pork chops really hit the spot. Next time though I will definitely order the sampler as I suggest you do. The staff are gracious and friendly and so very attentive, they are continually checking on you to be sure you don’t need anything else. All this goodness for only $ 9.50.

I can eat in places like this every day and be happy, not only because of the good food but the people are SONICE! I walked in and it was packed, waitresses zooming around so fast they left smoke trails. True story. The waitress walked up to me and said«you haven’t been here before have you»? I chuckled and said no, pls help me. She explained it’s all you can eat, eat whatever you want. I had to pause to figure this out, any food and no limit??? Was Lester Holt going to pop out and ask me «what would I do»? She was joking right? Nope it’s true you can eat anything off Of the menu and all you want, that said I did the sampler as I had no clue as to where to start. I forgot to mention when i went on I had to wait a minute before I say down, while I was waiting I was asked 3 times if I wanted something to drink while I wait, that’s so cool! Almost instantly a huge plate of food appears with fried pork chop, stuffed cabbage, fried chix, beef macaroni, corn, green beans, cabbage, and corn bread. I dive in and it was like home cooking perfectly done, this food isn’t fancy but packed with flavor and heart. I have to say I felt at home here, it reminded me of my humble beginnings when we went out to eat it was a treat, and the restaurants we went to were full of working class people… this is that place all over. The waitresses all worked together, no one had assigned tables, that was so unique in itself. The service was impeccable, I never needed anything before it showed up without me asking. As I left the entire kitchen crew smiled at me and said«have a nice day, we hope you liked the food». These people work hard and love what they do, impressive food, even more impressive people. All for $ 10, includes tea. Go here now!

Best home cooking in Charleston. People are friendly. All you can eat for a low price. Best fried chicken and macaroni and cheese I have ever had.

My new favorite place to go. Great price and a endless supply of food. Very nice southern hospitality. The place can get a little crowded but maybe that’s what makes it feel like home. :)

We tried Maries a few days ago. And all I can say is wow. Usually we conversate over our food and we were soeakless because we just could not get enough. The fried chicken was amazing. Seasoned to the bone. I was full and just could not stop eating! Its just a small business but they knock it out of the park! I will definitely be returning!

All I can say is awesome ! Small cute little hole in the wall diner with friendly service and good home cookin! Southern charm, simple, tasty, and fast! I had the chicken and rice and my husband ordered the pork chop. It took us a couple minuets to figure out this place was all you could eat! We got seconds and were stuffed, our food came out instantly and it was super hot and tasty tee also had, cabbage mac and cheese, corn, cornbread, lima bean, and sweet potatoes.(the Mac and cheese isn’t that good) but our bill was under 20. I took peach cobbler to go its amazing! Everybody was so nice we’ll be back!

I discovered this place via Unilocal as an out-of-towner. I’m so glad I did! The place is open Monday — Friday and closes at 2pm. The current price for the all-you-care-to-eat lunch special is $ 9.50. This price includes tea and tax!(Take that Boston Tea Party!) Here are my thoughts/observations. It’s a little difficult to find. The parking lot is jammed packed. The staff is super friendly and efficient. My husband and I ordered the Friday sampler. My tea was always half full or fuller! My plate was only empty when I was done. The food isn’t farm-to-table, it has the more processed element to it. But, it was freshly prepared and tasty. I’m pretty glad we went!

Inexpensive, home-cooked food with Southern charm. What more do you want. Easiest 5 star rating of all time. $ 9 is all you will pay for an all-you-can eat meal in which the servers keep bringing you food. That’s right. Your lazy ass can stay seated. That $ 9 includes tax and a tea. Why aren’t you eating here everyday??? Smothered chicken, baked spaghetti, fried chicken, pork chops, corn, cabbage, sweet potato soufflé. The menu changes slightly every day but everything remains unbelievable. And the waitstaff is as kind as can be. I don’t even live in Charleston. I was visiting a friend and he showed me this place. And then he basically had to drag me out of this place every day. I’m just upset he never showed me this place sooner. If you don’t like this place, YOU have the problem.

Love Marie’s diner. I am here on business frequently and love going out here for lunch with the co-workers. I typically order something different every time, but these are some of my favorites: –fried chicken –stuffed peppers –mac and cheese –stewed tomatoes –sweet potato soufflé –cabbage I am so glad I don’t live too close, I would eat here every day and my waistline would show it. Also, ALWAYS go for dessert. The homemade peach cobbler and ice cream is the best $ 1 I spend every trip. Great, unassuming hole in the wall where you can go to get some amazing Southern Cooking. The service is genuine. They only serve tea, sweet tea and water. You are always greeted with a smile and a «Honey» when you walk in. I love the South. Downside: A lot of the food is prepared before the rush, so sometimes it may have been sitting for a while before it arrives on your plate. I also get really bummed out when my favorites run out… but it just makes me go earlier each time!

Great little unassuming southern home cooking place to eat. Simple menu, great variety, good food, reasonable price… and you get seconds of anything on the menu except the deviled eggs. I had the fried pork chop, Mac and cheese, stewed tomatoes and cabbage the first round. Fried chicken covered in brown gravy, Lima beans and sweet potato made up round 2. Loved all of it except the Mac and cheese. I recommend it for good home cooking, friendly folk and a good price.

So the concept here is southern cooking that’s all you can eat lunch but it’s not a serve yourself so basically a buffet that comes to you! The only menu item that is limited is the deviled eggs with a two piece limit. At our table we enjoyed roast beef, fried chicken, pinto beans, rice & gravy, green beans, cornbread, corn and sweet potato soufflé. Everyone enjoyed the meal and left full and content. The sides are the same day in and day out but the meats change although there are at least 3 per day. Some days there’s also pork chops, baked spaghetti, pork roast, chicken & rice, ham & rice, meatloaf, etc. They’re only open for lunch and it’s a small establishment(iffy looking from the outside!) so get there early before they run out of seats & food. Update: Just ate here again yesterday for a co-workers birthday lunch. Consistenly good food! I had their ham and rice as my main. I expected ham but it’s actually shredded pork roast. Even better!!! Same as last time, the place stayed busy, the staff was attentive and friendly and the food was super tasty.
