Visiting from out of town and was excited to Unilocal/locate Filipino cuisine here in North Charleston. Was a bit concerned of the 2 star rating but gave it a chance. The Filpino selection was limited to pork and chicken adobo, pancit, and rice. The 1 star is not the limited menu, but for the odd vibe and comments received from the owner with unsolicited statements that blasted Filipinos as being cheap. The smoke from her cigarette while we waited at the counter for our food just left a bad taste about the whole experience.

Delicious cholesterol inducing diner food. Small hole in the wall, nothing fancy. Creepy clown pictures in the women’s restroom. The Bloody Mary was worth the visit. Atmosphere was smoky and could use some music but food was good. Don’t expect much.

Dirty, dark and smokey inside. We went here thinking there’s Filipino food. We’re very disappointed. Would not Come back here.

Foods good but it’s small and every cigarette seemed to fill the place with smoke. the waitress seemed like she couldn’t stop and give her full attention to serving us.

Visited Luz’s for weekday lunch because we heard they served filipino food. Was not disappointed, Pansit and Pork Adobo was good. Lumpia was called«eggrolls» and were also outstanding. I tried the Pepper Steak, which was GREAT! Another interesting item was the Bacon Fried Rice, very tasty. The menu also includes a couple appetizers and burgers/sandwiches, fish and seafood, as well as steak. Service was good, hostess stopped by often and refilled drinks/water. The atmosphere is no-frills, think bar/café, so don’t expect fancy fine dining. And if you’re inclined… you can buy lotto tickets before you leave. Definitely a place to stop in and grab some priced-right, comfort food. Adding Luz’s to my weekly lunch stop.
