AWFUL Experience! Mgr was 55 min late opening the station then when downhill from there. When he opened the door he didn’t holdit open 4 old lady waiting to get in. My bus was to depart at 8:45am. Mgr didn’t arrive till 8:25. A small crowd waiting at the station said this was normal for him. I finally purchased my ticket at 8:40. If there was another mode of transportation I would definitely take it other than greyhound. Also this guy was vert rude to everyone not characteristic of Charleston at all.

I admit, the building itself was crappy and the bathrooms weren’t working(as was the case with several of the other stations in SC). However, the service was expedient and the driver was professional. I traveled from Charleston to Columbia without difficulty for $ 30 one way. Some of the passengers were disruptive, but not crazy or violent. As a single woman, I would not suggest taking the bus from the Charleston station at night.

this greyhound station in north charleston is tiny. it’s basically a one-room building with three rows of chairs, a counter, 2 vending machines, and iffy bathrooms. some lady who was waiting for her bus opened the door to the ladies’ room and immediately exclaimed ‘nas-ty!’ — that’s never a good sign. while waiting for our bus to savannah, there was some dramatic commotion involving possibly a fight outside(we didn’t walk over to confirm this) — something about a guy giving another guy money to get home yesterday but the lender returned today and found the same guy still around and being told that all the money was spent on drugs/alcohol instead. when the participants started taking the fight into the waiting area, the staff quickly stopped it. in a word, this is a very exciting place to wait for your bus.
