Very nice cozy atmosphere with a beautiful view. We were sent there by a gentleman at the Mystic Visitor center. It was a home run! The service was on point and very fresh seafood indeed. The Cucumber Bloody Mary that our waiter recommend was amazing! If you are in the area don’t miss it & sit upstairs!

What a great atmosphere! What a great meal! A consistently delicious meal every time we are in town, and the servers are equally as good! Fresh ingredients, some of the best seafood dishes I’ve ever had, and an absolute favorite spot of ours!

Try the lobster Alfredo and the cheesecake! Their salads are also delicious. The produce they use is always fresh and tasty.

I don’t understand the poor reviews for this place. Took my wife there tonight for Valentine’s Day and the place was packed. Tremendous view from the second floor dining room. The service and food were outstanding — one of the best meals I have in a long time. Nice wine list. They had a killer oyster stew and their ribeye steak was great. I agree they should have served a vegetable with the meal, but I can overlook it. Excellent dessert and quality coffee. The service was impeccable and the waiter had great knowledge of the menu. I highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic occasion.

We have eaten here several times since the last review and each time the food was just okay but the service always very good. We keep coming back because of the beautiful views and the hope that the next time will be better. This time we took our four grandsons, to lunch on a frigidly cold Saturday afternoon and were seated at a comfortable table by a window overlooking the river and bridge. The adults had Bloody Mary’s that were curiously flat although heavily doused with black pepper. There was no refreshing aftertaste. The double order of clams casino looked and smelled inviting but were a complete disappointment: sandy residue and tough rubbery clams covered by a tasty crust that really couldn’t compensate for the other ingredients. Cups of clam chowder were okay; have had much better other places for less money,($ 6 a cup). There was quite a wait between the clearing of the appetizer course and the arrival of the entrees. One grandson requested slaw on the side of his pulled pork, but it came smothered under the slaw which was creamy rather than clear. Both grandsons who ordered it agreed they have had better pulled pork. I tasted it and found it to be cloyingly sweet. The burgers were ordered medium and came well done. The grilled Portobello mushroom sandwich was tasty as was a chicken tostado. Unfortunately, today’s visit to S&P was a big disappointment. I need to think twice before going here again and will have to enjoy the view of the river and bridge from outside.

This was our second trip to Mystic and we knew we had to come back here. The lobster bisque is great and whole lobsters are cooked to perfection. This is a great romantic spot for a nice dinner but also not too fancy for a stop in. Would recommend nice clothes as opposed to tshirts or summer ware.

Came here for a late lunch on a Monday, still had to wait 30 minutes for a family of 4. Beautiful view and food was pretty good too. The only complaint is the farro, argula salad — the argula was way past it’s prime and was completely limp on my plate and thus had zero peppery flavor. It’s hard to see why they would keep this salad as a mainstay vs a special. Other than that, the food didn’t blow us away and the prices were high.

Great location and views inside and outside. Service is very good. Reasonably priced. Seafood skins great! Only problem is that the rest of the menu or entrees aren’t up to par with other restaurants in Mystic. Can’t taste any«love» in the food… Parking is pretty tight too. Very romantic upstairs dining in the winter overlooking the river. Worth a try and a date night, but not a foodgasm…

My boyfriend grew up in the Mystic area so when we visit he always wants to have dinner here. On our trip this time we had our 2 year old daughter with us, which made me nervous because it looked pretty fancy and I didn’t want her misbehaving. Everything was perfect!!! The tablecloth was covered by a large piece of white paper and crayons were provided for her to go crazy with. Our server John was very attentive and the food was DELICIOUS! My boyfriend got the seafood pasta, I got a petit filet, and our daughter got the chicken and broccoli alfredo. I tried a scallop from my boyfriends dish. I was THEBEST scallop I’ve ever had. Overall it was a fabulous dining experience! We will definitely go back every time we visit Mystic!

Run! don’t walk away from this restaurant! I was offered a «special» carafe of sangria by our server. She didn’t bother to mention that the carafe cost $ 38…Yes…$ 38…Absolutely outrageous!!! Being with my girlfriend and not wanting to ruin a great day, I decided to write to the restaurant about this. Their response? Profuse thanks for helping them retrain staff about not telling customers about outrageously priced«specials». Did they offer to take anything off my bill? NO! There are many great restaurants in Mystic. This place is not one of them! I will NEVER patronize this place again!

Exotic Seafood and Drawbridges. Had dinner on a busy Friday night with friends. The sunny blue sky weather was perfect so we were thinking about eating outside on the spectacular patio. Instead waiting longer for the outside seating we took a fabulous table at the window by the Mystic River which was equally as beautiful. We had a selection of a couple dozen of our 4 fav oysters on the half shell as starters along with bottles of ice cold dark Amber small batch beer. Oysters were fresh and briny sweet, they arrived quickly and were delicious. Then we tried and shared bacon wrapped scallops, warm and full of bacon goodness; cold squid and baby octopus salad with a tart vinaigrette, and cold lobster tarragon salad served over avocado(amazing — could have eaten 2 of these). We shared a decent New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and washed down these delicious seafood apps. They finally brought us some fresh bread(not warm) but still very fresh and moist. For mains, 2 of us split the scrumptious giant portioned 24 ounce King Crab Legs with Yukon gold potatoes and string beans, and the swordfish which«wasn’t bad«. Some of the larger outer meat on the legs was dry freezer burned but the major inside portions we’re juicy fresh and especially flavorful. And as the yachts kept floating under the huge iron angle of the mystic highway drawbridge, the golden sun set over the river and capped off our dinner and some of the sweetest August weather in a long time. Along with a kids meal of cheeseburger sliders most appropriately described by the child as «Level !!!» and fries and a frosty sprite and diet coke and a slice of regular New York cheesecake with raspberry sauce this fine meal rang up $ 299. oo on the old debit card. The dinner was worth it tho; because of great food and one of the prettiest locations to eat on the CT shoreline. Delicious food, festive stunning location, pricey food.

Date of visit: 8÷20÷15 Occasion: Mom’s birthday dinner Time: 6:30 priority seating request. We walked in about 6:15 and were seated in less than 2 minutes on the patio. Mom Drink: Pinot App: Lobster Bisque Main: Jumbo Shrimp Scampi Risotto Dessert: Flourless Chocolate Cake Dad Drink: Budweiser App: Little Neck Clams Main: Bouillabaisse Dessert:Crème Brulee(He ordered Tres Leches but they were out of it.) Me Drink: Mystic Bridge IPA App: Stuffed Poblano Pepper(Menu says this contains shrimp, crab and lobster. I only found a few mini shrimp inside.) Main: Swordfish Tacos(I ordered the Mahi Mahi tacos, but they were out of Mahi. Waiter asked if they could substitute swordfish and I agreed.) Dessert: Bread Pudding I would definitely recommend calling ahead and making a priority seating request. There was a line when we got there and when we left. If you plan to sit outside in the early evening, bring your sunglasses. Service was prompt and attentive. The only complaint is that the stuffed pepper did not seem to contain the crab and lobster as stated on the menu. Overall, we left stuffed and satisfied.

Please note — this three star review has a lot to do with frustrations at the restaurant regarding customer service PRIOR to our meal. Taking that experience out of the picture I would have given S&P 4 stars easily. We sat down outside and were immediately introduced to our server who quickly brought water and directed us to the drink menu. We ordered drinks(hello Mystic Bridge IPA on tap and my wife loves the red sangria by the glass) and began to consider appetizers. We decided on a mix of raw oysters(3 each) and the tuna guacamole. The oysters were perfect, shucked beautifully keeping in all the juices and served ice cold. Even more enjoyable was the flags that they put by each type of oyster so we could identify which was which. The tuna guacamole, it was delicious but VERY different then expected. I was expecting seared, rare, tuna chunks tossed into a guacamole — instead we received large strips of yellowfin tuna, much more cooked — in very little guacamole /it was near impossible to dip chips into due to the consistency which was quite strange. However, it was delicious. For the main course(for all new comers to this restaurant — ALWAYS listen for the specials, the daily trio is usually amazing) I opted against he trio for a different special — the lobster avocado stuffed monkfish wrapped in bacon and finished with a hint of chili oil — served alongside of black risotto. The monkfish may have been one of the top ten best pieces of fish I’ve ever had. It was amazing and thankfully, the bacon didn’t overpower the other flavors. I was not as impressed with the black risotto. It seemed a bit underdone and a tad gritty. In all, I love S&P — for the price(which isn’t cheap) there are few places that I would say are worth it on the merits of their food alone, and this is one of them. The customer service issue I had with them prior to our meal was that they would not sit my family in the main dining area(we have 3 children under 5). I am a realist, this is a nicer place — my children were dressed appropriately AND it was 430pm for dinner. The inside of the restaurant was a ghost town. They quoted us and hour and a half wait for a table inside. The family behind is(same size party, no children, no reservations — was told to wait five minutes — and then sat). I would have much rather been told that they don’t sit small children in the dining area, I would have been totally fine with that. I was not, and am not fine with being treated like my family doesn’t belong somewhere when there is NO policy dictating that.

Great location for a quick drink. The outdoor patio overlooks the Mystic River as well as the bridge. Service was great on the patio. The«team» of servers were always making sure the drinks weren’t empty. There was six varieties of oyster shooters along with a great selections of cocktails. We had the Cabo Shooter along with the Jalapeño and ginger margarita. Excellent drinks.

We just arrived home in Tampa after spending five days in CT and RI. In those five days, we ate at your restaurant three times! And last Friday, after coming back from Block Island for the day, we made a bee line for your restaurant, and from the Point Judith Landing no less. Your Margarita is head and shoulders above the rest. The Ginger and the Jalapeño make this drink!!! We tried having it duplicated in other restaurants throughout our stay, no one could duplicate it, not even the Ocean House; KUDOS to you and your staff. Your menu is also excellent, from the Lobster Bisque, Baby Spinach Salad, Artichoke and Spinach Dip, to the Steak and Risotto, all was excellent. The Staff has it «down» with attention to detail and superior table side service. The grounds are exquisite, and the atmosphere is inviting. The outdoor patio and indoor views of the Mystic River, lend themselves to a true dining experience. Unfortunately we may not be back for at least a couple of years, but you never know. You are definitely on the Radar, you hit it out of the park for us. Thank you, thank you, for contributing to our wonderful vacation… Scott Peavey and Darrell Frost — Tampa Florida PS we were the ones who knocked over the glass of water on Sunday afternoon. Laurie(I think was her name), came to our rescue.

This place is amazing. We drive from NYC for this gem. The lobster bisque has actual lobster chunks and the warm lobster roll is just delicious. For $ 25 they do not skimp on the lobster. The yuca fries are just right — fluffy and very chewable. The oysters are(of course) great! Worth the long wait

Expect a wait particularly for a seat outdoors, but it’s worth the wait! We got a great seat by the water. Our server was awesome with a great sense of humor! Wish I remembered her name. We ordered the spinach dip and trilogy seafood, which came with grilled lobster tail, grilled shrimp, and grilled swordfish. Our awesome server had the kitchen pre-split up our entrée for each of us… and the food was spectacular. Fresh, flavorful, and grilled perfectly! I also loved my grapefruit martini! The spinach dip was a bit on the watery side, but still good to share with friends. We will absolutely be back to try their other options!!! What a great summer night.

Brought my s.o. to Mystic so he could get a feel for coastal New England. We came to S&P for the nice patio and ended up loving the food. He got a cup of chowder and we shared two Blue Point oysters. Everything was on point. The oysters were delicious. Entrees — he got the daily special which was a seafood crêpe(he said it was one of the most delicious meals he’s had in a long time and the serving size was perfect). I got the octopus and squid ceviche and ate every last bite. I could’ve licked the bowl but I was trying to not act like a 6 year old. Great spot. Great food. Staff was concise and efficient. Definitely will be back.

5 stars for view sitting outside by the water 3 stars for food . Ordered the lobster roll which to be fair was pretty good, thick cut fries which I prefer all day long over potato chips. Little bit on the pricey side running at 25 bucks who can complain on a sunny day al fresco style . The swordfish on a brioche roll was a whole different story. Too much bread and not a lot of taste. server with potato bravas which was sadly potato chips . I guess being this close to the water you expect better food but staff are friendly and back drop is stunning.

A-okay choice for a seafood meal in Mystic. They close on the early side, so keep that in mind if you plan to go for dinner. Red sangria — I don’t think there was any alcohol in this. If there was, then my tolerance is at an all-time high. Appetizer: — Lobster bisque soup for us both. Anything that fatty can’t help but be good. I would have loved more chunks of lobster, but I’ll take what I can get. Go with a cup instead of a bowl. You’ll be really full if you go the bowl route(unless that’s what you’re striving for). Entrees: — Stonington Sea Scallops — served with cilantro green chili sauce, corn and pecorino romano tamal. It had an odd spice to it but it was good.
— Bouillabaisse — lobster, mussels, shrimp, calamari, salmon, cod, and tuna in a tomato stew. Nice flavor, mussels were slightly overdone. One minute away from being rubbery. Dine outside on the patio if you can. Great views of the river and of the kayaks passing by. But beware of that loud-ass airhorn that sounds when the bridge is about to lift(and descend). You’ve been warned!
