Okay so everyone knows by now that I’m tanned on the inside from having drunk gallons of coffee over several decades. When I travel down to the beach, I expect to get something stronger than«the S word» and decently brewed. I tried a couple of the touristy coffee places — bleh! And then, on accident, I found this place. This is where you need to go in Myrtle Beach for coffee. It’s Canadian(but they don’t talk funny aye) and they can crank out quality coffee day after day. Since I’m not there anymore I figure I’m safe to let the rest of you in on the secret. They open around 8:00AM every day, after they put out the lounge furniture. There’s plenty of parking, and they have those cards for frequent flyers. The staff are nice and friendly, and there’s even books for people that do that«read» thing… Skip«the S word» and the touristy places and come down to this place for decent coffee when you’re at the beach.

A delicious cup of coffee, incredibly fresh pastries, and relaxing atmosphere makes for a five-star experience. One of our favorite things to do when we travel is try out local coffee shops, and Second Cup was a great first start. Its proximity to our hotel, which is along a strip of hotels on the beach, was the first big plus. We could have walked, but decided to make the quick 5 minute drive to give us extra time. When we arrived, we hadn’t expected the shop to be so big. There is plenty of seating all over the place. Some tables were four-tops, some two, and there is even a long table in the corner for larger groups to enjoy. There’s also seating outside in a patio area with large, comfy outdoor seats and tables. The whole atmosphere was perfect, with light music playing, tasteful decorations(some were paintings of the types of coffee the shop serves) and even a bookcase full of options for various reading preferences. The bathroom, by the way, was single-stall and impeccably clean. Now onto the important stuff: coffee and food. When we went to the counter, the two baristas working were very friendly and fast-paced. Our drinks and pastries were out in no time and a smile never left their faces. My girlfriend and I both got a vanilla latte and it was hands-down the best we’ve had yet. Even in a to-go cup the barista still did a little latte art with the caramel drizzle. We also ordered a cheese Danish and apple strudel and were nothing short of satisfied. It really puts into perspective how great fresh products are from a local coffee shop vs a Starbucks. It’s also worth noting that Second Cup’s coffee is certified fair-trade. It’s something I appreciate in local shops! We will definitely be back, and if you’re thinking about visiting don’t hesitate any longer!

This is our go-to coffee shop whenever we’re at the beach. We drive past at least 5 other coffee joints to get here, but it blows away any other offerings in town. I prefer a plain latte, but their speciality drinks that I’ve tried are all quite good. The staff is always very friendly it’s always clean.

It amazes me what the majority of people consider«good» coffee. Granted I did not try their drip but the espresso was undrinkable. It was a very nice space but that means nothing if you don’t get the coffee right. This was my second try in the Myrtle Beach area and both strikeouts.

Espresso was overly bitter and burnt tasting. They don’t offer pour over or French press alternatives. Nice space to hang out, but it’s all about the coffee and it wasn’t good.

Spacious coffee joint next to Fresh Market. Offering specialty coffees and tea lattes. Double espresso was good and Chai tea latte was tasty. Meager offering of bakery items. TV’s plastered throughout with music bumping at same the time, not my thing but if your into visual and audio stimuli while savoring a tasty cup then this is for you. Windows surround for outdoor viewing but in desperate need of a professional window cleaner! Staff was friendly & politely answered any questions.

The atmosphere here was really nice. It wasn’t too crowded and it was very well laid out and clean. I would give it a higher rating because the wait time was some what long and it’s pretty pricey. I had a chai tea that was very good– not watered down like other coffee shops. I also had a breakfast sandwich that was really good yet could have been left on the panini press a bit longer. The staff was friendly and the seating area was great for both work or casual eating with a small group. Wish I had a photo to add because the décor was really nice as well.

Nice big clean establishment. The coffee here is really good. It’s the first time I came and I look forward to coming again. It would be a nice place to come for peace and quiet after a long day.

Delicious coffee! Found this place while on vacation and it was best out of 3 different coffee shops I tried. Great coffee, nice atmosphere & friendly staff that helped me decide what to get. Went 3 times in 2 days. Love it!

Always visit this place when we are down here. I like it better than Starbucks. Company is from Canada and this is the only location I know of but it makes out visits to the beach special.

Cozy coffee shop. Enjoyed a couple of cappuccinos here before going to the Pirates voyage show nearby!

Very friendly staff, excellent coffee, and a clean and comfortably HUGE lounge. Wish I’d found it before our last day in Myrtle Beach. If you’re thinking about a trip to Starbucks(and I’m a big Starbucks fan), skip it and give this place a try, you won’t regret it. –K

I was impressed when I arrived in the parking lot, the outside seating area is emoting out of a designer catalog. When we placed our order they explained in detail the specials and features for the day. My wife has lots of requests when it come to making her coffee and the were more than happy to help her with decisions. I had the house breakfast blend and it was wonderful. I also tried the grilled cheese sandwich and it didn’t disappoint! If you are looking for a new place to try here it is !

Stayed a week in Myrtle beach with my family and we fell in love with this coffee shop!!! We came once everyday, by far the best coffee I’ve had in a while. It is quiet and clean and kind of cozy with their books and couches. The staff was also very nice and welcoming. It is way way better than Starbucks and costs less. My favorite drink had to have been their iced caramel latte but instead of milk I had almond milk. It made the latte taste super creamy and delicious. I was so happy that they offer dairy-free alternatives. My mother and father enjoyed the«La Minita» they raved about how great it tasted.. I’m going to be so sad to go back home because this place was a highlight our family vacation. I highly recommend coming here while you stay in Myrtle Beach it is worth it !

This place is fantastic. Clean, quiet, has outlets, and the coffee is literally better than any other coffee place I have been(and I am a snob!). They also went out of their way to make sugar free drinks for me and try new recipes. Very glad this wonderful coffee place has come to Myrtle Beach!

Dark roast coffee was very good, very clean inside, reminded me of a better version of Starbucks.

Was looking for a coffee spot that was local since I always try to check out locals when I’m traveling. Checked this one out based entirely on Unilocal reviews and it did not disappoint. Great atmosphere with great coffee. Only knocks I have on the place? Wi-fi was sketchy & there was a serious lack of power outlets for plugging in a charger, but those are minor to me because generally when I go to a coffee shop its for the coffee, not the electrical outlets and such. Cannot recommend this place strongly enough if pure in the area & looking for a break from the chain coffee spots of the world.

I’m sorry but I’m a coffee snob; I woke up this morning and waited for the café to open. With the search for a great latte and after reading all the reviews, I was excited about my visit. The latte had little to no flavor at all, very bland. Coming from Manhattan I was hoping to explore coffee outside my area during my trip. It must be the area for the Boardwalk Coffee House had the same steamed milky taste with no hint of coffee what so ever; however, the Columbian coffee at the Second Cup wasn’t so bad. I should have tried the Trifecta instead. My search will continue.

Second Cup offers one of the best layouts in furniture to meet a variety of needs: converse, study, read and even(gasp!) watch tv. I ordered an Americano with less water than normal. 12 ounces per 1−½ shot is too watery for me. They offer typical non-dairy milk options and some yummy-looking pastries. The drink was well-pulled except the barista forgot ‘decaf’ so redid it immediately. Slight bitter after taste but well worth the price and the ambience.

Fun décor and great dark roast. People were super friendly. Did not try the food but they had good snack options.
