Second time I have eaten here and ordered off the Tee Time menu that offers appetizer, entrée and desert for $ 19. First time had the Pork Tenderloin. Second time had the Salmon with Caesar Salad and Key Lime Pie. Portions are generous and the quality of the food is very good. The service this last was very slow and I can’t understand why. We sat down at 5:30 after golf and the place was not that crowded. Our deserts which consisted of the mentioned Key Lime pie and Chocolate Mousse took about 15 minutes to be served. We did not leave the place until 7:15. But I will go back.

A beautifully festive hearth adored the thick slate fireplace with a large original painting of The Greenbrier, Slammin’ Sammy’s home course. Panning the restaurant from by bar stool at the far end of the bar almost atop of the server station, I peered to the ground and then observed ten inch green slate flowing tiles. So well done were the appointments inside, I harkened to the barkeep if the intended look was to replicate golf course turf, not the case but believable none the less after three Happy Hour Sweetwater 420’s. Seven separate seating locations to dine populated the opposite end if the single sided bar, separated by lovely thick wooden breakfronts which kept the background sound in check and upped the intimacy level. The picture total must have hovered around sixty all in, the framing was appropriate for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the pictures thick with aggressive brush strokes. The Sam’s Burger was really delicious, as the large hunk of prime chopped meat, hand patted in house. was cooked on top of White Oak chips which lent itself to a new level of smokey flavor. Special mention to an amazing bartender Phil whom took time to talk with me in detail even though I had a blue collar day and must have appeared like what the cat dragged in.(Figure of speech)

Seems like an older crowd and food not the greatest regrettable. Will maybe try again as I feel everyone deserves a second chance.

I was in here last night for the first time. My boyfriend and I started with the crab cake appetizer and it was amazing. The atmosphere and music were perfect for a Monday night. For our entrees we had Salmon and steak salads. Per our servers recommendation. Clarisa was accommodating and personable. We will recommend this place to all of our friends and family.

As others have stated, the décor is fantastic. The food is even better. I had clam chowder and a crab cake. I’ve had some pretty crappy crab cakes that I would equate to «microwaved from your nearest grocery store’s freezer section.» This was not that! Small, but oh so authentic. That would explain the price tag of $ 12.

Nice place for lunch. Warm lump crab dip was a generous portion served with toasted baguette. Loved it. $ 11.95 Special was fish taco with cilantro, red slaw and fresh jalapena. Two were served with saffron rice. Tacos were great. Rice was on bland side and seemed like it was from a box. $ 12.00 Draft beers $ 5 each. Our server was a little bit snootily. He was a little better as he went along, but he should remember he is the server not me. And do better by his customers or his tip will surely show and what brings in the business. All in all the food was good and would go here again.

Ceaser salads was cold and fresh but didn’t taste any anchovies dressing. The lemon drop martini was aweful. The martinis are measured poured. The steaks are out of this world and cooked perfectly. Alex was a very good server and a perfect gentleman

Stopped in for lunch. Wonderful memorabilia of famous golfer, Sam Snead. Lovely wood interior… Great atmosphere. We dined on French onion soup, French dip and Ruben sandwiches… very delicious. But the best part of our dining experience was our server Sean… he was absolutely fantastic! A genuinely nice guy who was so attentive, but not obnoxious about it. To the contrary and without a doubt, the best server I have ever encountered! give that man an award! So impressed with him as was our whole table. We used a Restaurant. Com certificate and so we received $ 25 off of our bill which made it all the more sweeter! Will return on our next vacation to Myrtle Beach!

Nice place to eat. Get there for happy hour, half price apps. I had a rib eye, it was excellent. The rest of our party was very satisfied with our dinning experience. I would definitely go back.

Had a very nice lunch here on the way to the Tangers Outlet Mall on Hwy 501. Cool interior– all sorts of golf memoriabilia and Sam Snead photos. Who was Sam Snead? He was a big-time pro golfer. «Slammin’ Sammy» won 82 golf tournaments in the 30’s through the 60’s. I heard a lot of 1940’s music playing in the Tavern — lots of cool Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong tunes. We had a Country Club Sandwich($ 11) — a nice portion of turkey, ham, bacon, cheese, lettuce, and tomato on multi-grain toast with a mound of fries. I ordered the Grilled Salmon Salad($ 13) — a nice salmon fillet over mixed greens, goat cheese, tomatoes, and candied pecans over a balsamic reduction. The portion was very satisfying. I thought the fish was a tad overcooked and dry, it definitely wasn’t the moisi fillet that moves good into the realm of very good. Our server was polite and checked on us a few times. Overall it was a very enjoyable meal with good value in a nice place.

What a surprise. After driving for many hours to Myrtle Beach from Indianapolis with a short stop in Columbia, SC, we were ready for a nice lunch and did we find it! The service was excellent, the server even reviewed the plate to assure presentation was perfect. Crab Cake Sandwich was all Crab and perfectly prepared. My wife’s Baby Spinach Salad with Grilled Chicken, Green Apples, Pecans, Feta Cheese, Strawberries and Balsamic Vinegar Dressing was also excellent. The atmosphere is definitely conducive to relaxation and conversation. Music is not over whelming. If your looking for a more refined after golf or a place to take someone without breaking the bank, this is a place for you.
