Don’t be fooled this is no longer Omega Pancake House. It’s a place called Carolina Pancake House. Based on Unilocal Omega has moved to 1616 Hwy 17 N.

Went to visit my dad for Christmas, and this was one of the places accessible by golf cart from his place. Apparently that’s a thing in Myrtle Beach. We hit it up for breakfast. Myrtle Beach is one of those places where quantity matters more than quality. I didn’t know this before I ordered. I got a pancake breakfast and some biscuits. I’m a pretty big dude, but boy was this a good amount of food. And the quality was solid too. The biscuits and pancakes were the the stars on the plate. Of particular note was the butter that appeared to be a cinnamon sugar butter that melted sweetness straight into the welcoming goodness of those hotcakes. Barely any syrup was needed as I forged through my short stack. The eggs and bacon were fine but, those fluffy flapjacks and biscuits were what I’ll remember most, and what I’ll want to see first the next time I visit my dad.

We had four egg omelets and they were very good. The service was great and very friendly. Prices were very resonable.

This is a wonderful breakfast place. I’m not sure why other people had poor comments The service was friendly, quick and we had a great breakfast. I highly recommend this place for anyone that wants a quick and tasty breakfast

Service was basic, «Hi» take my order, bring my food ask a few minutes later then bring the check. Typical at a breakfast restaurant not a big deal. Ordered an omelette, home fries and toast with coffee. Coffee didn’t taste fresh. Omelette was thin and flat. Home Fries were moist and looked kind of funny. Toast was the best. At he end of the day and being a local here in MB, Bob Evans is still my #1 choice for breakfast.

My husband liked it better than I did but it was good. Service was fast and friendly but it still felt a bit truck stop for me.

Food was good; French toast and waffles were great, but the bananas were overly ripe and borderline rotten. I would avoid ordering fruit toppings here. Service was great; the waitress was friendly and moved quickly and efficiently. In and out, the two of us probably spent 25 minutes there, so if you’re looking for something quick this might be the place(if it’s not a busy weekend)

My husband and I had a delicious, reasonably priced breakfast here this morning. It was walking distance from our hotel(The Patricia Grand). He had biscuits topped with egg and sausage gravy, I had a sausage and egg croissant with a side of home fries. Our service was friendly and quick and the meals were very good! The décor in the restaurant is outdated and the booths/carpet are a bit worn but we weren’t expecting a 5 star setting for a breakfast bill that totaled less than $ 20 for two people. The home fries were the best part ! I highly recommend those. We would most definitely eat here again for breakfast, but probably not lunch or dinner.

Horrible. Do yourself a favor and turn around and walk back out the door when the smell of this place slaps you on the face upon entry. If you dare continue on inside, you’ll find disgusting carpet, lack luster décor and, what’s that sound? It’s the live birds by the cash register. If you order food, please, I beg of you, don’t eat it. If I could figure out how to give less than 1 star I would. I don’t think there is a health department in this part of town.

The only saving grace for this place is that it was open at 3:30am and was within walking distance to my hotel. After an evening of Halloween debauchery, I stopped back at my hotel to change and asked if anything for food was open because I was starving… you know that drunk kind of starving where you will pretty much eat gas station hot dogs if they’re available. I find out from the front desk that this is the only game in town within stumbling distance so my friend and I decide to take a journey. Surprisingly, there were some other patrons there but, they were less drunk and more old with a side of loneliness. Our waitress was a sweetheart and the service was up to snuff. A little slow considering there were about 3 or 4 tables at the whole place but, I was happy to be eating. I went with a simple combo of pancakes, bacon, and scrambled eggs. The pancakes were… pancakes, the eggs were edible, but the bacon tasted like it was cooked in, on, or around seafood… weird because I don’t event think they serve seafood. Typically alcohol heightens the taste bud sensors turning even the most average plate into unicorn meat drizzled with truffle butter — not in this case. On my walk back I felt troubled and started re-evaluating my life choices to that point and then all of a sudden… Poof! I woke up back in my cozy hotel room like nothing ever happened.

It’s a run of the mill, dime a dozen, kind of MB breakfast establishment. Is the food bad? Is it good? Well… you really aren’t going to do much better in Myrtle at this kind of place. So… I don’t know what that says. If you are a tourist you won’t mind it. If you’re a local… I’d cook breakfast at home.

We just left. And will never go back. It looks iffy from the start and then as we finished our meal a roach at least an inch long crawls out from the direction of the kitchen. The hostess seemed in alarmed and blamed it on the rain. Disgusting! So far less than impressed.

Food less than average and ridiculously over priced! Much better restaurants on the Grand Strand and with reasonable prices.

If you are expecting a fine-dining, gourmet experience, this is not the restaurant for you. Then again, who wants that kind of atmosphere at breakfast time? Food was pretty good. I had a 2-egg plate with bacon; both the eggs and bacon were done the way I asked. The grits were good and they actually serve decent coffee. The staff is friendly and check on you while you are eating. Would probably eat there again.

We drove all around town one morning looking for breakfast food to nurse a mild hangover and start the day ;-). We decided on the Omega pancake house because it was less busy of the very busy morning rush. That and we had seen another of their locations during our travels… Nonetheless, despite over 40 people waiting when we came it, we were seated within 10 minutes and served drinks shortly thereafter. We even received a requested booth despite the very busy morning rush. Diverse breakfast menu with a little greek flair. The waitresses were very busy and the guests sometimes verbally demanding(you could hear some folks), but they still provided exceptional service. They should be commended. A staff like that can make or break a little place like this. The food was quite appetizing for more traditional breakfast fare and the prices were great. We will definitely be stopping again in the future. Much better than IHOP, IMO… cheaper too. –For what they are, this place is a great find! Check it out!

Either we’ve randomly hit this spot for its one good week the past 4 years or it really is not nearly as terrible as the other three reviews state. I am a creature of habit and always get the chocolate chip pancakes(banana chocolate chip if I am feeling adventurous) and a side of bacon cooked very well done. The pancakes are always amazing as is the bacon, only complaint is I wish it was more than 3 strips. My husband usually gets a grilled chicken and mozzarella omelette. He always enjoys it &LOVE their grits. Other entrees he has gotten were always good as well. Another bonus is it being within walking distance from our hotel. Definitely worth a try if you are at the Caribbean Resort or nearby and don’t want to drive for something to eat… Service is also generally good.

Service was ok. Food was beyond terrible. I got a spinach omelet and it was about ¼ inch think, and DRY. It didn’t even LOOK right. I was already late for a very important conference and I am hypoglycemic so I gamble on somewhere to stop and eat. I lost this gamble in a very bad way. In the interest of not blacking out during my seminars, I attempted to eat the food, I could not. I literally could not eat it. I drank my highly diluted coffee and left. Not only is the worst breakfast food i have ever had the misfortune of encountering, it is likely the worst food period. i don’t know how they make food taste/smell/look like that. I don’t see how this place remains open.

Mediocre at best. The omelet was flat and relatively tasteless. Bacon was thin. Grits were good but is about all of the good I can say. Sorry, but with all of the breakfast competition in the area, this is a restaurant to avoid.
