Just went here today 11/27/15…I’m never the type to complain ever but this place was terrible… they started off 5 star from me as I walked in the restaurant bur then I noticed they don’t leave plates out like other buffets your waitress must bring you them… now they are down to 4 stars… then as I was walking around the buffet display I noticed their crab legs swimming in water that is a no-no…now they’re down to three stars, then as we’re trying to enjoy our meals they’re offering to take our picture I’m covered in butter seafood scraps all over my face do u really think I want to pose for a picture… no I’m here for food not a photo op… down to 2 stars, then we had to stop our waitress to get a scrap bucket… there’s even more reasons I can list but all in all it has bad service, watered down crab, and false advertising… the only thing that I can’t complain about was it was a decent price.

If compared to the competition, the selection is shabby at best, but it’s a smaller restaurant; so… Standing alone, the place is a typical seafood buffet. Most items are cooked well. They have a nice selection of both fried, broiled, and boiled items. The service was not bad, but it would take a pretty terrible server to screw up buffet style dining. The shrimp were excellent, the scallops a little too salty, overall not a bad, but at the same time, not a wow experience.

If I could give it 0 I would it’s the worst restaurant I have ever been to all I can say is I paid 75 American dollars !!! For food that has been sitting around for hours I can easily say this was the worst decision of my life

Great atmosphere. staff was very friendly. The buffet continued to be stocked the whole time we were there. The food was not as fresh as I remember it being the last time I went there. The fried food was not as crispy, and some had a soggy feeling to it. Value for the price could be better.

Super clean, courteous, well-lit, well tended, and friendly environment. The selection was not as vast as Benjamin’s and yet is was 100% better. Thlandslidee food was FRESH and seasoned perfectly, the facilities were CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN, the staff was very friendly, and the manager was speaking with the customers. All of this at 9:30 at night, REALLY? I grew up with Benjamin’s as the«go to» spot however, Hook’s has taken the lead by a landslide.

I’ve been to at least five other calabash style seafood restaurants around myrtle beach hooks is the best! I’ve shopped around, food is good restaurant is clean great service. I’m not saying it’s the greatest seafood ever just the best of calabash.

Best value seafood buffet on the strip. They even have raw oysters by the dozen as part of the buffet. You just have to ask!

I’d give this 0 stars if I could. This was the worst place my poor taste buds have ever had the displeasure of tasting anything. You should be ashamed of serving such subpar food. My boyfriend and I left still hungry and sad that we wasted money there.

Reheated frozen food. A meal so bad it made me question civilization in general. For $ 30 you can have as many plates of garbage food. If you don’t care what you eat and just want to get full then this is the place for you… Luke warm food crab legs with movie theater fake popcorn butter… You can almost see an apologetic sadness in the eyes of the employees. Like lost souls in limbo.

Lobster in season: 5 Lobster off season: 2 Buffet in general: 3.5 Don’t expect much of the quality because it IS buffet… but I like to come here with friends and family every time I come to Myrtle Beach because of the all-you-can-eat lobster and oysters. Comes at a pretty steep price — around $ 42 per person w/lobster, $ 30 some without. Lobster and seafood: — Definitely fresher and better cooked in the summer months. The several times I’ve been here for summer vacation, they were cooked nice and tender. There’s not much added flavor, since it’s just steamed/boiled, so I make my own lemon pepper dip. I get my money’s worth by eating 3 – 4 lobsters, but I’ve had friends eat up to 15, since there’s no limit(those monsters!) We also kill a good several dozens of oysters each time, and are usually fresh. — When I come here in the winter, the lobster and crab legs are consistently overcooked and way too hard! Also rubbery. Crab is cold since it’s probably been sitting there for a long while. Oysters sometimes have that rotten smell, yuck. I also love the hush puppies. Coconut shrimp is not bad. Everything else is typical buffet. Macaroni, mashed potatoes, etc

Don’t let this place fool you. We thought it was good as well, but we were truly disappointed. First of all, the seafood buffet is overpriced. For $ 27.99, it wasn’t worth it. I’ve had a much better experience at a 13.99 buffet, and they even have lobster. They offer nothing that made us say, «Wow this is good, I will come back for more.» Some of the entrees were super salty. The crab legs were as if they don’t have meat at all. All water inside. The dessert bar isn’t appetizing too. My brother and I were joking that at least their lemonade is good, which by the way isn’t even part of the buffet price. My family spent the whole night justifying our decision to eat at this place. We are never ever coming back. So don’t be fooled by the many cars parked outside!!! I don’t understand why a lot of people still eat in this place. It’s a trap.

Not worth the price. And that’s saying a lot considering it’s a seafood buffet for $ 27.99. There’s a lot of options, but nearly everything is either overcooked, flavorless, or just downright disgusting. The only two things I had that were decent: coconut shrimp and the crab legs. Comments made at our table: «Why does this taste like an apple?» «This tastes like dirt» «I don’t want this in my mouth» If you’re a seafood aficionado or have had good seafood ever in your life, avoid this place at all costs

Not worth the money… service was very poor… waiter claiming he could make a mixed drink as advertised on the menu… that was clearly not the case… will NEVER return!!!
