1st time trying this place. I’m giving it a review because the food was really good, and I’m reading a lot of bad ones. We walked in and they made our food right then and there. Yes it did take a while but that’s because it was fresh! The husband and wife where very sweet. Give it a try and I hope your not disappointed.

Our first time eating here. I called in an order and when we showed up our order was not ready and they kept telling us 10 more minutes, well it took us well over 40min to get our food. When we got home the food looked great but it didn’t taste that way. Chow mein was so dry! No flavor at all! I couldn’t find any shrimp in the shrimp fried rice ATFIRST… but upon close examination I found the shrimp which was so over cooked that it turned into mushed up shrimp. It was inedible. The only decent dish was the garlic chicken but even that was bland, and that was the reason for 2 stars or else it would’ve been 1. Let’s finish with the fact that we all got stomach aches.

When u call to order it is challenging communicating with the man who answers. I ordered chow main(ick), moo shoo chix and dried out wraps to use. I spent over $ 30 for this order and received a small, small small container of white rice. Every dish was overloaded with cabbage and None of us could eat what we rec’d I’m always wanting to give our local area my business. but, In this case I won’t be going back and it’s back to Panda where you can see what u order and prob cheaper.

Food is great! But… service is bad ! They need to hire help. I hate giving them a bad review but this is my third visit and each was over 45 min wait!!!

STAYAWAY!!! The service is absolute horrid! There is only 1 cook and 1 person in front who takes all the orders, answers phones, to go orders, serves tables and all the other work! We waited nearly 2 hours for 2 entrees and when the food got out I was absolutely in shock… We ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and Orange Peel Beef. The chicken was stale, old and chewy. It smelled absolutely awful. The Orange Peel Beef wasn’t even what I had ordered, they brought out an entirely different plate and I had no time to wait another 2 hours for them to bring the correct one. The meat quality was disgusting. It was tough, chewy and to be completely honest… I dont think it was even real beef. 0 stars! Disgusting food and horrible service!!!

This is the first review I’ve left. I am very confused to why this place has 4 stars it gets. I had their so called«beef», it tasted like beef jerky that was re cooked in sauce. Their Kung Pao chicken was horrible and undercooked, Panda Express fast food is way better in comparison to a restaurant. On top of that, we waited over an hour for our food!!!

I love Chinese food, and I definitely love this restaurant. The couple working the place are such lovely people. The food is cooked to order so be patient, it’s definitely worth it. The food is delicious! By far my favorite place in town. The woman cooking in the back is awesome, I’d hire her personally if I could ;)

Mad respect to the man taking orders, still working at his age. Great place to try, comparable to my favorite restaurants in San Diego. Got the beef chow mien and the sweet and sour chicken and it was good. Beef was flavorful and the chicken cooked perfectly. The only downside is the wait for take out. We waited about 30 mins but it was worth it.

The handful of times I’ve been here I’ve never liked the food except the egg drop soup. Haven’t had it in about 3 – 4 years but finally ordered it tonight. HUGEMISTAKECOMINGHERE. My husband brings home the egg drop soup and to my surprise there’s no egg what so ever in it. Pretty annoyed at this point so I have him call them and ask what’s up. Their reply was«we stopped adding eggs to it a couple years ago because Americans didn’t like the egg in it. And its more about the broth then the egg, traditionally there’s not a whole lot of egg in it anyways. other old customers have been asking for egg drop soup recently and when they get it and find out there’s no egg they complain». My husband asked for a refund to which they said NO. who ever is running this place needs to rename the soup to «no egg drop soup». Very frustrating and misleading. we’ll never come here again.

I love the mom and pop feel the owners give. Just the atmosphere these two give rates a 5 star. The food is always good. We tried something new tonight. We had the pungent chicken and it was delicious! The chicken was perfectly fried. The veggies that accompanied it weren’t overcooked. It was good.

I would give this place negative stars if possible. I called in my order and they said 30 minutes. I arrived 25 minutes later and had to wait another 20 minutes for my food. The cost should’ve been around $ 17, but it was $ 20 and I couldn’t get a copy of my receipt to explain why. The noodles in the chow mein are spaghetti noodles and they only give you about 2 pieces of meat in the whole dish. We also ordered the 3 flavor soup which had weird meatball type meat in it and had the same spaghetti noodles. Overall, they are slow, use cheap, gross ingredients and are way overpriced for what you get. I would not recommend.

My gf and myself walked in, were seated and were having our orders taken. I asked him how the teriyaki chicken was($ 6.95)and he said«great, very popular you will love it» my gf ordered house special chicken. When we mentioned that we had a dealpalooza voucher THEPARTYWASOVER and his attitude completely changed. He said the prices will be more than double for each plate. He showed the cook the voucher and she shouted for a bit in Chinese. He said«sorry we ran out food». My gf says can we get pork plates? «No pork either, no more food» he went from«you will love it, very popular» to «we don’t have any food» Why did you take out orders if you don’t have any food? We called dealpalooza and got our money back.

This place is truly a hidden gem. It’s a humble Chinese restaurant that boasts authentic & comforting taste. It’s ran by a cute old Chinese couple, & they are the sweetest people you will ever meet. The customer service is wonderful, and the food is even better. My only complaint is that because there aren’t many employees, you could be waiting quite a while for your food; but at least it’s fresh and hot when it’s served to you. I always order the house special fried rice & the wonton soup. I’ve been battling a cold recently, so their hot food is perfect for current conditions. Love love love this place

Second time here and I’m blown away by the service. My first visit the owner(I’m assuming) handed me my food and asked«first time here?» After responding yes, he said«I hope you like it» Right now, I’m here for my second time. Sitting in the corner waiting for my order. The owner comes by and places a plate with an egg roll on the table and says«this is specially for you» and walks away. Oh, and the food is delicious. This man knows how to treat his customers.

Came in here with my grandma and my mom a couple of days ago. We’ve been here about 20 times in about 3 years, so we’re familiar with the menu. I must say that I’m a little disappointed by this place now. This time their food was a little bland. I get it, there was only on lady cooking but we were the only customers there, she could’ve taken her time. Their service is excellent. The owner is very sweet, patient, and helpful. The lady who made our food brought us some very delicious grapes at the end.

This place has always been a favorite I’ve eaten here may you years I’ve read other reviews and yes the wait is about 30 minutes but people it’s not a drive thru it’s a home cook meal you get what you pay for the elderly man is such a sweetheart and is kind the cups smelled like bleach and the restaurant wasn’t so clean and silverware was dirty but besides that it’s like a hole in the wall restaurant and it’s decent food he just needs a little hard in the sanitary part any takers he may like some one to. offer or donate some hours to help clean if I had the time I so would support local small mom and pop places All photos took with galaxy note 5

Mom and pop shop owned by an old couple therefore service is slow. The wife is the cook and the husband serves. Small restaurant. Food is decent and everything is made to order. Price is also very reasonable. It’s not the best chinese food I’ve ever had but it’s good enough for the area. Also chinese food are usually very greasy and this place is ok. If you want wings or pork chop it takes about 30mins bc they have to defrost it. They accept credit cards over a certain amount. The fountain drinks are free. Or maybe free for us. The owner just brought the cups over and told us to help ourselves. Thank you =)

Tried to give this place a chance 3x but it just doesn’t cut to survive. Before I get into the criticisms I will say one thing there fried rice is above average. Now for everything else — Orange Chicken — The solo cook tries to do so much. She added zucchini and other veggies which watered down the orange sauce(I am assuming unless it was watered down already) which gives the chicken a bad flavor. Also we got the food as it came out and we only live a few minutes away and the chicken already lost the crispy breaded texture. Chow Mein — Was hopeful since they had a decent fried rice. But I have to warn you — no one should get this. It seems like they use spaghetti noodles from a box. To top it all off the spaghetti noodles don’t have flavor. I had to add soy sauce to the noodles for it to have flavor. Lastly as others have mentioned is the wait. Since it is literally one chef lady the wait takes awhile. We ordered to go three times and had various wait times. When I walked in and no one is there it took 15 minutes — not bad. The second time I oredered they said about 30 minute wait — when i walked in there were a party of 8ish and 4ish. The third time I called they said a 45 to 60 minute wait for a to go order. I can’t Imagine the wait when eating inside the restaurant especially if there is 2 or more parties — Especially since the stereotype of Chinese food is that it is fast to serve(and holds true at about 90% of the places you go). I did try to give this place a chance. The owners are an older couple who work their butts off and seem to have pride of ownership. I typically support holeinthewalls/family owned places but I can’t seem to do it for this place. TLDR: Order the fried rice ANDNOTHINGELSE but expect a 30 minute wait. Also, I have eaten chinese food from Downtown LA, SGV, SF, NY and many other places so I do know what I am talking about even tho this is just a lil place in a suburb.

We love coming here, you do have to wait a little while, but it’s well worth the wait! The food is always fresh, savory– and they give you big portions, so you’ll never leave hungry. The owners are very welcoming and cater to your needs, they always throw in something extra for us since were regulars. Great food at a decent price! A must try!

Stumbled upon hot wok on Christmas Eve as everything else was closed. Without a doubt I am able to say that this family owned restaurant provides the best service and some pretty delicious food. We arrived about 45 min after closing and the owner still took our orders. We decided to eat in not knowing they had closed and he was in no way, shape, or form in any hurry to kick us out. We only found out he was closed after asking him. He welcomed our stay and cooked up a plate on the house! The food here was outstanding! If I’m ever in the neighborhood, I wouldn’t think twice about eating their delicious food :). Best regards to the owners!
