Bret Abshire, MD – Temecula Valley Neurosurgery

Dr. Abshire came highly recommended to me by MANY Doctors and medical professionals in the area. I had several doctors tell me that Dr. Abshire is the only person they’d let operate on their back! While I was in the hospital, the physical therapist told me that people fly in from out of state all the time so he can be their surgeon. I had a 13 mm herniated disc at L5-​S1. I had very debilitating sciatic pain that ranged from a 9.5−3 pain wise, just depended on the day. I was so tired of living with the pain, and didn’t want to be on pain meds forever. He was thorough, explained everything to me, went over my MRI, discussed the pros and cons, gave me his data in success rates (so high), and performed a microdiskectomy within a month of seeing him. I was very nervous, it was back surgery after all! However, he was just amazing that morning. His expertise calmed me, and I knew I was in amazing hands. I woke up, and within just TWO hours, I walked to the bathroom, about 10 steps. A few hours later, I was walking the hallways. I couldn’t believe it! I was also walking without sciatic pain! I’m 10 days post op, and every day I get stronger and have more energy to do things. Dr. Abshire is not only a brilliant surgeon, but has a good bedside manner as well. I’m forever thankful to him for changing my life! I cannot sing higher praises for this doctor!

This doctor was unbelievably rude, even cruel. He realized that he wasn’t going to make any quick money from performing surgery, so he decided he didn’t want to treat the condition at all. He was insensitive and dismissive. He ordered tests that he didn’t really look at. Avoid him.
