I was schedule to move into The Grove on a certain date. I arrived to move in with my first and last months rent in hand. Minutes later I was told that I could not move in because there was an issue with my paperwork and that I would have to find somewhere to stay for the weekend because this leasing manager was also out for the weekend. Mind you, this is the busiest weekend of the year. So I made arrangements to stay somewhere until the manager returned. She returned and I still had no place to stay. The Grove gave me the run around for 6 days all while I had to couch surf and struggle at the beginning of the semester and they did not care. The management there is horrible and I advise all futures applicants to stay away from there.

Good lord, where do I start… Well when I moved in the handle on the fridge was broken off, dishwasher was not operating, dryer was broken, grates in the oven had food and stuff growing out of the food in them. They did fix these things after a few weeks so not terrible there. Jake and one of the other girls in the front office are really good but the others are just not all there and I don’t know why they were hired. My BIGGEST reason though that I went with 1 star vs 2 is because of the crap roommates they put me with. There are obviously no background checks ran… Which should be a standard for all student living apartments. I am a white southern gentlemen and they put me with two black men that were heavy into the rap culture. One smoked weed two to three times a day… And when I brought this up to the front office over the phone on multiple occasions they just brushed it off. My speakers came up «missing» and neither of them have no idea what happened so I guess they walked away when I wasn’t looking. My roommates also blared gangster rap music at all hours of the day«6am» «noon» «11pm» it’s like they had to have coming out music every time they walked out of their rooms. Sounded pretty good on my speakers that went missing too! Basically how this ties into the groves fault is that they completely disregard your roommate personality profile you fill out when you move in. SOIFYOURMOVINGINWITHOUTROOMMATESYOUKNOW, THINKAGAIN!!! Overall I hated my time here and it was always something. I work and go to school for a living right now and having to deal with non stop problems at the grove did not help my daily life. They switched out management when I got there as well meaning something is broken so they are trying to fix it… Not sure how well that’s going. Also, I subleased from a friend and they raised my rate 30 $ more than what he was paying and I took over his lease! How much sense does that make? Exactly

If I could give this place no stars, I would. This place makes it so hard to be a college student. They try to get you to sign with a pool and make shift gym. Both are horrid. The rent is over priced for a small apartment and they didn’t inform people that they use $ 450 to pay for last months rent when moving in and it’s very easy to fall behind from there. The management is absolutely horrible. And after about a year of someone moving in, they kick you out on bullshit terms and make you pay $ 500 on top of rent to move out so they can fuck a new generation over. On top of these fees they just keep adding more fees for nonsensical shit. Please, please do not move in here. It’s a waste of time and money.
