Pizza King

Pizza King is a Muncie staple for locals that have grown up with its delicious square pieces and premium ingredients. I had the Royal Feast because the waitress said that was their signature pizza and it certainly did not disappoint. The crust was crispy and the blend of pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms was memorably tasty. If you are in Muncie, this place needs to be first on your list of food stops.

Pizza like most of the Pizza Kings. It is OK but I am spoiled on Greek’s Pizza style pizza. Larger pieces of Italian Sausage. The pizza here is served hot and is not bad. Price wise it is OK but once again Greek’s is better for your bucks.

Ok, here’s the thing… hubby is from Muncie and grew up eating Pizza King. I like it enough to go, but it’s not five star worthy. Salad is straight from a bag, with a slice of tomato. Cheese is extra. Breadsticks were good this time, cheese dip is not. Cheese was lukewarm and too spicy. Pizza was pretty good, not really any complaints. Atmosphere needs to be better. Lights were turned off at 5 pm, which left a place that is already blah, seem worse. Service is mediocre.

We went off of the reviews on Unilocal since we aren’t from Indiana. It was a great experience! The cheesy garlic bread was great and so was the chicken ranch feast pizza. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick. Cool place and great food!

This Pizza King location is nearest to my house so I frequent them regularly for dine in rather than get delivery as I do most other pizza places. When first going to a PK the ordering from a phone at the table process seems weird but after visiting many times you begin to like it’s effectiveness. Food is always delicious, especially the Hawaiian pizza and Royal Feast, and the lobby is clean and service is solid. They serve draft beer in a frosty mug which pairs well with their limited selection of major american lagers. They have a reasonably priced juke box and are good at serving groups with limited notice. My only real complaint about Pizza King is the price tag (usually about $ 30 — $ 40 for my family) but as with most things in life you have to pay for higher quality pies than what other chains like papa johns, dominos, and pizza hut serve.

For a pizza joint in Muncie Indiana it is a fantastic establishment.
It is such a small original chain with such unique and delicious pizza! I always hit up the King twice at least whenever I visit my family up here in good olé Muncie.
You order food and drinks via the telephone at your table, service is always so-​so. but the pizza is outstanding with a crunchy crust, melty cheese and delicious topping cooked to perfection.
PK is a must if you are anywhere near one!

Pizza King’s pizza just falls in it’s own category for me. It’s just, so CLASSIC. There’s just no way to compare it to other pizzas in town. The ingrediants are always so fresh and delicious. Those breadsticks… those breadsticks… I mean, can I get a tub of that garlic please?! Here’s my ideal Pizza King experience: Start with a side salad with some of their homemade dill ranch, then get some ¾ baked breadsticks with cheese dip (and any leftover ranch!) and a small pepperoni pizza, and then end with a warm «Buffalo» Chocolate Chip cookie for dessert. Seems like a lot of food, and it is, but this is AMAZING leftover pizza, some would argue it’s even better later. But besides the food, the service is always top notch at this location. I love the dining room, very relaxing, very open, with lots of light. Definitely a Muncie gem that I will always take advantage of when I am home visiting.

Right off, you should not assume my three star rating is an indication the quality of the pizza is «average». I don’t rate pizza four or five stars because, after all, it’s pizza! I save those higher ratings for fine dining establishments. So you could say, PK received the maximum score from me for their food!
Sometimes you have to move away from something to fully appreciate it. Such is the case of Pizza King. I called Muncie home for 40 years before my career took me elsewhere. One of the things I came to realize that I missed — something I took for granted when it was always right in front of me — was Pizza King!
I now live in «Mecca» for pizza (Chicago area), and I’ve tried just about all of the major pizzerias here. I’ve had some great pizza to be sure but none — I repeat NONE — have the aroma and flavor of a Pizza King «Royal Feast».
It truly is unique!
Pizza King in an institution in Muncie and I am proud to list it among the best pizza I’ve ever tasted anywhere. Now when I get back to town, more often than not, I «ring the king»!
