Denny’s

Nice, clean facility, quick stop for breakfast before a long drive to canopy tour adventure of ziplining the mountains. It’s located near the hotel and gas station by the busy highway of US 81.

Yuck! Worse food at a Denny’s I have ever had! After a very long day my Mother and I needed a good healthy meal. We both ordered Salmon. Absolutely no flavor! Not any spice/​seasoning at all! My poor mother poured ketchup on hers to give it at least a chance to be edible! Broccoli.. ¼ cup? Really? My mother ordered mac-​n-​cheese with hers. It was SO bad she couldn’t eat it! I will give them the 1 star… after all… the water was drinkable!
Never ever again. The waters did ask us how everything was I all I could say was… it’s ok. (So I lied)

The food was great and I have no complaints about that. However, the service was slow and we sat right by he kitchen where you can hear employees talking smack about others. That turned me off a little bit. Anyways, we waited about 40 mins for our food and were on a road trip back home. We thought it would be quicker, but it wasn’t. Would recommend to people on the road and wanting a quick sit down meal.

Fantastic as always! You can’t go wrong with Denny’s pancakes! Service is great and food is delish!

This denny’s is the first denny’s that you’ll hit coming from the south on Roanoke.
The location is tucked back from the road but still close enough to the interstate to be a quick stop heading on 81.
the location is small, but clean it’s staffed with very nice servers who make sure that you’re having a good visit.

We stopped off for lunch not really expecting much. The last time I ate at Denny’s, I was underwhelmed, so all I was expecting was an average experience. I left with a feeling that things are changing for the better. Although it was lunch, I ordered the scrambled egg whites with spinach, tomatoes, bacon and English muffin. This came with a side of fruit which I had assumed would be fresh from the can, but I judged too early — the fruit was fresh, various and delicious. All in all, a good experience. Great job Denny’s!

Mediocre food that satisfied me but nothing special. I had the club sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup. The food took a little long to come out and the waitresses came right under our table with the vacuum while we were waiting. The place could use a good cleaning. Service was pretty good and kept our drinks filled. I’ll probably give this place another try.

They serve great biscuits and cheddar cheese hash browns. This is dependable road side and comfort food, especially for brunch. This Denny’s feels like its part of the Mount Jackson greater community because they have the civil war cannon out front and a nice work of art showing historical sites in the area.

Wonderful waitress, horrible host/​seater! Walked in, wasn’t acknowledged or anything for that matter. We had awkward eye contact for a good amount of time, and still nothing. I challenged her to a silent, awkward staring contest. No smile, stared right back as if I were nothing of interest, and finally I won when she looked up and left. A little too snooty patooty to be a hostest with the leastest.
Waitress made up for everything by being awesome. Food was quickly brought out, hot, and delicious. I recommend the nachos or turkey and soup. Both were very well put together! Tipped her well above normal, but she deserved it!

We waited, no one acknowledged we were there, let alone seated us. We will not go here again.

First customers in Denny’s this morning and waited over an hour for the food. Four tables of folks arrived after us they were served first. Went to ask why we were not getting service another five minutes pasted then order taken. All four tables arriving 10 –15 minutes after us were served and finished before we got our food. All tables were next to each other so no excuse for other waitress not to help us. Manager said medical emergency for our waitress. No excuses for other three waitresses flowing. The two tables next to us waitress completely ignored us.

This Denny’s proves that not all chains are alike. The food /​service aren’t the same just because it’s a chain.
I like to order omelettes, but have them scramble them. This Denny’s was happy to do that for me. I really like their newer omelette menu where you put together your own omelette from a wide range of ingredients. It was quite a large portion and I couldn’t eat it all.
Richard had their Moons over Myhammy which was fresh and hot as well.
The server was very friendly and kept up with our drinks and made sure we were happy without crowding us.
This Denny’s is connected to a hotel and the outside has some neat looking canons. The parking was plentiful and inside was plenty of seating with two large conference seating rooms as well.
The only problem was the hostess also took care of ringing up customers and serving the ice cream up front so she was stretched thin and we had to wait to be seated. Definitely not her fault.
I saw a bar area that was closed, so it looks like they have a bar later at night maybe?
Overall, a very good Denny’s!
