Papa John’s Pizza

Always took a carry out of one large cheese for kids. Seemed fine.
Kids liked the taste and wouldn’t mind having once a week.

To be honest, I was compelled to write this review because I personally witnessed how employees/​management here stood up for women/​innocents and were extremely respectful to women and families with children. Both pick-​up customers and delivery patrons are treated equally, albeit with a more casual demeanor versus burnt-faux-Italian-rhymes-with-«A-Needy’s”-“professionality
Local Lore: This location was robbed at gunpoint in the past. The management kept employees calm and safe. The 3 thieves left with less than $ 100 bucks and were caught as part of a crime-​spree hunt.
I rarely Unilocal.I am a longtime customer, super bummed out by «HANGRY» reviews here fueled by butthurt malevolence regarding delivery delays during peak hours when droves of people order their Pizza because… their pizza ROCKS. Good Pizzawill have delays. Have you ever dined at a no reservation restaurant? Waited in line for more than 30 minutes for an amazing sale?
Regarding Papa John’s overall, I have researched their ingredients and found myself surprisingly surprised.
Despite the founder being a former hardcore Romney supporter/​funder, Papa J’s really does keep true to their «Better Ingredients, better Pizza» montra.
Google their ingredients, mostly everything is fresh and authentic without heavy additives. No MSG aside from some of their dips (I think ranch and buffalo?, you can Google it yourselves)
I have found the management and workers at this particular location to have excelled beyond the call of their duties, over many years. They maintain a professional, prompt demeanor while letting a young local like me feel… comfortable? Comfortable!
Google the coupons, deals, etc. Subscribe to their mailer. **Tuesdays are friggin buy one-​get-​one, AFAIK**

I’m not sure why the ratings are so low. As far as Papa John’s go, this is the nicest location I’ve seen. It has a little seating area in the front and actually looks legitimate. There’s a menu with pictures and prices, instead of some letters haphazardly pinned up. I’ve never had problems with anyone getting my order wrong, and the pizza is ready when they say it will be. I came recently and the guy at the counter offered me plates, parmesan cheese, and red pepper flakes without being prompted. I considered it a great experience!

I’ve been waiting 2 hours now for one damn pizza!
I placed an online order for a large pizza with veggie toppings. I got an email saying the pizza will get here in 39 – 49 minutes. I called them after 55 minutes the lady who answered the phone put me on hold for 2 minutes and then she told the pizza was on its way. Finally after 1 hour 10 minutes the delivery guy showed up with the wrong pizza (pizza had all kids of meat). I called them and told them they sent me the wrong pizza (again they put me on hold, called the manager to whom I had to explain everything again), they said they’ll send me the right one and will rush it. No apologies nothing! Well it’s been almost 50 minutes since I spoke to them and no pizza yet.
This is the worst customer service ever!

My boyfriend n I decided to order a pizza for delivery. The guy that took our order was Patrick. After we finished ordering he informed us of a discount that we could use and saved us $ 9. Thanks Patrick :)

I love their pizzas and the garlic sauce. When we lived 2 miles away from their mountain view branch we used to order every weekend for a veggie pizza and its it ice cream. But since we moved a different area I miss their pizzas.
I wish they deliver to all the places in Bay Area. They deliver only to restricted areas.

Best pizza ever and I still go pick the pizzas for our family parties.

Poor service… They took almost two hours for a pizza when it’s only 10 minutes away. I’m ordering again.

A nightmare — 2hrs pizzas delivery delay, wrong pizzas made and they sounded like it happens all the time.
The story —
We ordered 3 pizzas for my daughter’s birthday. The party starts 11am and ends at 1pm. We planned to have pizzas delivered 11:45. It turns out ordering pizzas from papa John was a disaster. No pizza 11:45 and we called 11:50am and was told they were running late and the pizzas were not even ready for delivery. We were told the pizzas are likely to be delivered around 1−2pm (our party end at 1pm!).
We ended up having to drive from the party venue and pick the pizzas up ourselves. Worse than that, we were given wrong pizzas. Worse than that, the manager did not sound like they feel sorry about it. :-(

I ordered a pizza at 11:27. At 12:09 the driver called to say that he could not find my apartment. I tried to explain to him that I my apartment is located behind the pool And he continued to say he could not find it. I asked him where he was and he said at the front and he was still his car!!! I could hear the windshield wipers going!!! I then told him he would have to get out of the car and walk to find it and he said «I’m trying to help
You out» what the hell!!! I’m the one paying for this service!!! To make a long story short, I called the store manager who then told me the driver didn’t mean it like that and his a little different! I told the manager I’m not calling to talk about his personality type, I just want my pizza that my kids have been waiting for over an hour!!! I guess the driver also called the manager instead of walking around he sat in his car!!! My pizza arrived at 12:22!!!

Consistently poor experience and bad management. Today was the last time I give this place a chance after giving them tons of my business. Waited an hour for pizzas. They said they had «run out» of XL pizzas and had to order from Palo Alto store. Amazing FAIL. My time is too valuable to waste here.

Had a positive experience picking up a pizza here last week. Really nice service and the combo pizza was tasty. No complaints here!

We ordered a vegan pizza for delivery, they took 45 min to deliver a pizza with both cheese and chicken. To re-​deliver the order, they claimed it would take over an hour, so we drove to the place to pick up the new order. They re-​made the pizza wrong again, yet the manager argued with us, saying we were wrong. Bad service all around if you ask me.

This review covers delivery service tonight for pizza and wings. Minus 1 star for being over one hour late, esp. when I have a houseful of hungry kids! Minus another star for not having a clue when I called multiple times to find out what’s going on: it’s ok to say we are gonna be late, or even truthful and say we forgot to make your pizza, but it’s NOT cool to lie and say it’s coming in 15 minutes, or put me on hold and forget about me when I call to ask where my pizza is, and finally to cancel my order. I don’t care (or mind) that you are short staffed, slammed, or whatever — in that case, just tell me you can’t fulfill the order and I’ll go nuke a lasagna. But don’t LIE or ignore me, so I’m waiting indefinitely.
Pizza and wings finally arrived and were passable, so you get 3 stars, and one back for the free care package of soda and it’s it’s. Still only 2 stars.

Ordered large pizza half cheese half pepperoni. There were def more than half o the pizza that was cheese but I didn’t make a big deal out of it. Ordered previously over the phone and ordered pick up. Wanted 20 oz bottles of soda however when I showed up they didn’t have them but upgraded both them to 2 liters which I thought was very nice. Smaller than usual but so delicious.

Poor customer service at Jersey city, NJ Papa John’s store. We ordered pineapple pizza for my son at 8.30 pm today and as confirmed, we got the pizza at 9.15 pm for which we paid the money as well. Though on top of the box, it’s mentioned as pineapple, we were surprised to see pepperoni pizza inside when we opened the box. We don’t eat pepperoni and immediately we called the store asking them to change it. They promised to deliver pineapple pizza in 20 minutes but we didn’t get it till an hour. We called around 10.15 and the person responded that it’s on the way and she cannot confirm on the time as she’s not driving the car. When I spoke to the manager on her attitude, he said that the pizza delivery person will be at my apartment in 5 mins. But till 11, no one turned up. My husband went to the store and returned the pepperoni pizza. No one turned up at my place till then. After canceling the order, they were reluctant to refund the money we paid for the pizza to the delivery guy. My son who waited till 10.30, fell asleep without eating and I at last made dosa (like pancake) and fed him. I have never experienced like this with any other restaurant and than money and service, we were so hurt the way they behaved and didn’t even feel guilty for their mistake… My only advice to anyone who are in Jersey city is to think twice before going to papa John’s. Though I love papa John’s pizza and have been getting it for last 5 years, we decided to stop going forward because of this experience with one of their store.

Absolutely ridiculous. It should not take 2 hours to get a simple pizza… When Eat24 said 50 minutes (eat24 has never been wrong before.)
Calling the actual restaurant was useless. I’m really glad I ordered ice cream! Cold pizza, unapologetic driver. Never again

Pizza tastes good and so I called.
I missed call of the delivery man and so I called back in 20 sec. & he missed it too. So what! people miss calls. So, I called main office and until now I am fine.
Papa Johns, Mountain View Manager : — Name i could not catch, is rude and mean. He did give me a hard time. I was told: You asked us to call you and WHY you did not pick up! You need to pick our call…||
I am your customer and not your subordinate. 2 min solution took him a 7 min speech. I just wanted my pizza.
I must appreciate they have a very good delivery staff but the people who take our calls are very difficult to deal with.

Decent pizza, good discounts, and good customer service.
Papa John’s is probably my least favorite pizza chain in the South Bay; however, the unique pizza combinations and discounts help make up for it.
The Food: I’ve been here numerous times over the years, but I want to focus solely on my most recent visit. A week or two ago, I ordered a large pepperoni, mushroom, and olive pizza, with a side of chicken poppers. The pizza was the same as it usually is; warm, fluffy, and tasty. The chicken poppers were a little better than I expected them to be. I assumed the chicken would be ground, similar to a nugget, but what I got was all-​white meat chicken chunks.
The Service: What I like most about this Papa John’s location is that they never make me wait an absurd amount of time. The standard wait time for pizza delivery is about 40 minutes, but this location usually delivers my food in about 25 minutes.
Conclusion: While the pizza is decent and the customer service is good, the entire Papa John’s pizza chain would need to change their pizza recipe before I could rate any of their restaurants higher than 3 stars.

One of the crew there was extremely nice to us– Scott! He was very professional and courteous… and they have the incredible ITS IT ice cream there in cappachino flavor, which my husband loves! These were great when we had them.
The pizza is just decent but definitely pretty reasonably priced ($ 15 for a large pizza w/​a coupon)
Update: I tried the vanilla its it there, and unfortunately, they were super stale! :(Had to knock off another star… sorry, but I don’t think i’ll really be back.

I came here for the first time and I have to say the customer service I received was phenomenal. Kevin made me feel extremely welcomed. He was patient and offered a lot of different options.
The cost was a screaming deal! $ 14 for a large pizza!
The rest of the employees seemed very nice as well. My son and I watched them hand toss our crust.
Great experience!
This is my new favorite chain pizza place.
