So we decided to get out of town and was looking for venues on line. Usually go out to SJ being from Monterey we usually get a room and have a night out. Mountain View… Hmmm around the same vicinity so why not? Decided to get on the guest list and booked our room. Got a text we won a VIP table and bottle service just had to pay a fee for tip, no problem lol. I’ve never had bottle service but my BF has before. He was impressed on how attentive our servers were and very nice gals. They made my drinks for me all night and liked having that reserved seating and danced in our area that was fun too. My friend had a Moscow mule and was delicious. The dance floor was packed people dancing all night while I was there before midnight and was a really fun vibe! Music was on point. I liked how the club communicated to us by text in a timely matter and would like to go back again. Maybe next time w more friends but made new ones. People were really friendly there also and I mean no thugs or trouble and looked outside like there were more venues but am glad I came here to the Opal and will b back!

This place is really great.
We decided to come out and play last minute, and this is where we went.
They website had a guest list that when until 11, but we got there later. The promoter was so kind to pay our entrance.
The vibe and music was on point.
It wasn’t one of those tight-​packed sweaty joints either.
The bartenders were also really solid.

Seemed like a nice place, but unfortunate that it was dead until late (like midnight?!). It was hip hop music, which I prefer to dance to over edm, but maybe others don’t feel the same. It was a good time though! Maybe it would attract more crowd if the DJ had more remixes and less top 40.
Manager is super kind and gave me a refund for the cover that I accidentally bought.
Overall good club with a nice floor and little patio!

Most important tip to start out this review, remember to check-​in for a free shot! Not sure how long that promotion will be for but I thought that was pretty cool.
South Bay clubs really can’t compare to the SF club scene but this place is decent. The crowd is a bit older and the night we came, they were playing mainly hip hop which was a nice change since fist pumping to EDM gets a bit redundant. Pricing is decent and place never got really «packed».
If you signed up for guestlist (free entry before 11pm), make sure to check for an email confirmation.

So i have to say i was very surprised to find a club like this outside of the SF/​SJ area. Mountain view isn’t the place i think of as a NIghtClub city. Everything looks very classy and freshly remodeled. When you are inside you honestly feel like you are in SF dancing away. There is at least 6 to 1 (girl to guy) ratio every time i’ve gone.
The Staff is super friendly. Savannah is mad hot (she is one of the bartenders there) always has a smile on and takes care of me and my friends.
Mike the GM there has come to know my friends and i since we come a lot after work the past few months. He took care of a girlfriend for her birthday with bottle service and gave us a few drinks.
If you are looking for a great night but don’t feel like driving all the way to the city. Come here and have a great night.

My roommate and I go here every Saturday we possibly can. The bartender’s are attentive, the security is on top of things, and while there are nights where the DJ isn’t exactly playing my favorites we still have no problem dancing for hours!

Just wanted to leave a quick review on Opal. My wife and I recently relocated out to the Bay Area and were looking for a nice night club that we could go out and have a nice, enjoyable evening. We frequent Las Vegas, so finding somewhere close to home was important to us. We contacted Opal ahead of time for bottle service and their staff was really responsive and communicative, which we really appreciated. We have reached out about bottle services at other places in the past and their lack of communication was a big let down for us.
Arrival: Everything was in order when we arrived on a Saturday night, and Asia (who we had been communicating with over email) was there to bring us to our table. There was no wait and the process was really smooth. We ended up getting put at a nicer table on the dance floor, so we were really happy with our table placement.
Environment: I really liked the ambiance here. It was really cozy and intimate, but at the same time wasn’t too packed. The wall décor and lighting was much appreciated. They have the dance floor in the middle between the two bars, and it was easy access to get on and off of the dance floor.
Service: The service to our table was really top notch. Staff members kept coming by to make sure we had everything we needed throughout the entire night. They refilled ice, took dirty cups away, and made sure all of our mixers were topped off. A+ on service.
Music: The music was more top 40’s here, which some may or may not care about. We’re fans of EDM music, but still had a great time here as the DJ kept the music going and the crowd happy. I’d like to see some more variety, like hip hop and electronic music mixed in so hopefully they can improve on this as this was really my only area for improvement.
Crowd: The crowd was great here from what I could tell. No one was rowdy or anything, and the crowd seemed pretty classy. This is important for us as a few bad eggs can really kill a night for people.
Overall, we had a great time and will be back. We appreciated that Asia reached out to us afterwards to make sure we had a good time and to look for any areas of improvement. Give this place a shot and you won’t be disappointed!

The DJs had everyone dancing. The hosts were gracious and the overall vibe good. It was a fun night, made extra special with the serendipity of an entourage from the other side of the globe!

Had high hopes for Opal after reading reviews here on Unilocal.
The inside of the building is much smaller than it looks in the pics. Two stars for the fact that this place is pretty classy and they give you a free shot if you check in on Unilocal.It was mostly hip hop but the kind that you hear all the time on the radio and is hard to dance to when they switch to Justin Bieber every few songs in between. Basically you felt forced to dance and the feeling didn’t come natural. If you want ratchet trap music don’t come here! The demographic is mostly Caucasian and Indian so it’s understandable why the music choice is different from SJ clubs but the DJ sucked. I looked around me and realized I was surrounded by girls who could not dance if it saved their life. It wasn’t dark enough and music could’ve been louder. It was pretty cramped and you could clearly make eye contact with someone dancing on the other side of the club.
They have the men’s restroom on the main floor and the ladies restroom upstairs, wouldn’t it make more sense to not have drunk girls in heels walking up/​down stairs?!
Honestly I wouldn’t come back here but it was nice I got to experience it at least once.

Had an exceptional service here, all thanks to Asia. We had a complimentary VIP service and she treated us like we were goddesses. Everyone in my group (5 ladies) were very pleased. We will sure be back.
One note: I wish DJ would play more dance music.

A week later after I posted my review, I received a comment from Michael V., the business manager at Opal — it said: «#SPAM account».
From what I’ve observed in other Unilocal reviews, typically when someone from the business responds to your unfavorable review, the management team often takes responsibility for any negative experiences and tries to offer an explanation for the situation, and will often ask the patron to come back to the establishment so that they can provide a better, more accurate experience.
Michael did in fact leave such comments (on 3÷13÷16) to other Unilocalers that left new reviews around the same time I did.
However, in my situation, he chose to ignore my review, and instead of addressing the poor customer service I received, he simply tried to flag my comment as spam. I feel this response again falls in line with the type of service one can expect to receive from Opal, and leads me to wonder if this lack of customer service is echoed from management down to the bartenders as acceptable behavior.
Original Review:
This is my first review, and I was compelled to write this because the bartender at Opal was just THAT rude.
I had purchased a whiskey on the rocks with a coke back originally, but had run out of coke and wanted a little more to go along with my whiskey.
I returned to the bar and kindly asked a bartender if he could refill my coke back so I could continue drinking the whiskey. The bar was not that packed at the moment, and the bartender was simply in the middle of wiping down and rearranging his bar counter space. Without even looking up to acknowledge me, his discourteous response was: «No I’m not giving you any coke, you need to buy an alcoholic drink.»
I have never encountered such tactless behavior from a bartender before, from even the busiest of establishments. Having worked as a bartender in the past, I just couldn’t believe the service I received.
So, I’ll let you decide if my one-​star review is justified.

Very disappointed with the bottle service experience not with the hostess who served us but with the process of getting in and being brought to the table. Once waited a good 20 – 30 minutes before we were directed to our table. Mind you that this has been my go to bottle service from Buddha to Zen and now Opal.
Pretty sad to think that new management thinks they are too good for their guests. Not once in the past 4 months have we been acknowledged by new management to introduce themselves during times we’ve had a table.
I guess its off to PURE in Sunnyvale, better music, crowd and just a fun overall atmosphere.

You have to love a place like Opal Club! A great place to spend the evening with your friends. We have a great party here, everything was perfect! Awesome environment, friendly helpful staff, and really great music. We had a lots of fun!

I looked into making a reservation at opal to celebrate my birthday. Talked briefly with mike to get some dance floor tables. I decided to get the tables and sent my information over. I received no confirmation at all from Mike, not even a «see you Saturday». Next thing you know I’m receiving a text at 11:45 Saturday night asking where I am. I told him he never verified anything with me and that I never even planned on going to the venue as a result. I was quickly notified that I would still be getting charged for the reservations anyways. This place has terrible management, the process for making reservation is even worse. If your looking for a place to go out for a night of fun stay far far away from here.

My husband booked the Mezzanine Lounge last Saturday for my 40^th birthday and it was a night to remember! The staff was excellent and attentive to all of our needs. The upstairs section was special as it was roped off for our party of about 15 with ample seating that overlooked the entire bar and DJ. The DJ was great that night as well, playing fun, dance music. None of us had ever been to the club before but we were highly impressed with the atmosphere. Bringing a hip, chic lounge feel to downtown Mountain View. Yes! Good crowd, good service, we will be back!

Thank you Mike for one epic night at opal! Popping bottles at opal will never be the same with the vip girls coming out with a Darth Vader Helmet while DJ audio 1 drops the Vader theme song breaking necks in the club had everyone looking one for the books! The party wasn’t over yet thank you Mike!!! For the comp bottles of Grey Goose and Bottega. Opal is the best club in the South Bay 5 star bottle service and state of the art sound system and lighting and huge Led screen with friendly bartenders

Been going to this joint since its opening days and quite frankly I haven’t been disappointed. Opal Nightclub is an upscale venue with great décor, lighting, and an overall comfortable environment to have some fun. From the staff up to the management, great folks. Opal has a pretty consistent great DJ line up blessing its sound system. If you’re looking for a place whether to have a couple drinks or party your ass off like there’s no tomorrow, Opal is the spot to be. If you’ve been here before, great, keep coming back. If not, definitely worth a visit.

They took 1 month to refund me money for tickets I had accidentally purchased. DONT GO HERE OR BUY TICKETS ONLINE. Terrible management (tried to bully me into taking down reviews, constantly lied about returning my money.) NOT A PLACE YOU WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH PLUS THIS CLUB SUCKS!

That was the best club I have been over the holiday! I spent my happy birthday with hot friends there. That club always has the most popular DJs there. Gorgeous cocktails and services over the bar counter. Definitely will return with my friends and meet some more there!!!

A very nice place to hangout with friends. Nice interior design, professional bartenders provide awesome drinks and the DJs play some great music!

This is my first time to this club. And I think this is the best night club in Southbay. Compare with the other huge venue like Pure lounge, the size of Opal is really better for friends to chill out and the decoration style are decent. The music is mostly Top40 and they have the best local DJs to spin at the venue. The drinks there are really good too.

Hosted my wife’s 40^th birthday here. It was an excellent experience. Event organizer suggested the mezzanine floor which perfect idea. Servers did an awesome job taking care of guests. They ran the big birthday signs for us too
DJ played the requested Bhangra tune and shouted out birthday for the lady.
It was mixed crowd and DJs kept plenty of energy on the floor until shutdown. Sounds were awesome.
Entire staff was friendly.
Lack of air was an issue in our floor and while organizer tried to address it, guests were uncomfortable for some time.
Also, while everything almost happened as I wanted I wished they surprised me and VIP guests by a delightful experience more than expected. Perhaps they can think and find that element for large parties.
Overall a great place to be on Saturday night and I will love to host my next event here.

Used to come here when it was Zen, but it wasn’t that great. Last night I came here for the first time since it had been remodeled, and I was impressed. The décor is beautiful, the layout is SO much better, with plenty of room to dance. The music was great– hip hop, with a few remixes of house/​EDM. Great to keep you dancing all night! There is a cover charge of $ 10 unless you put yourself on the guest list ahead of time & get there before 10:30.
Overall, I had an awesome time & will be back again very soon!

Living in the Bay Area, entertainment and night venues come a dime a dozen. You have an ample variety to pick from, however customer service and convenience might not be a huge concern for many of the available venues.
New Year’s Eve, has always been a celebrated event in my family, because it also marks another year of life for my younger sister.
Originally, we had booked another location (name shall not be mentioned), to host her big night. There was an incident with the owner which forced my brother to look elsewhere.
Here’s where Opal came in for the rescue.
We booked our bottle service extremely late for NYE, however they were so accommodating. Everything was set. I worried a little that I had not set up everything correctly, so I kept checking in with the contact person. He reassured me each and every time I was good to go, with a smiley.
As a group of 10, we don’t really get out much. We work a lot, and just don’t find clubs or the nightlife to be our cup of tea anymore. Opal made us believers again.
From the moment we walked into the VIP line, the security handled everything with such ease. Majority of my party was running on different schedules, so getting them in was a concern for me. The security in line reassured me it was not an issue and to just come out and notify him when they were in line. True to word, it ran so smoothly. Even when they ran out of wristbands, security walked them through. Throughout the night they remembered each person that walked out for a smoke, and automatically opened the rope for them to re-​enter. No hassle, no arguments, no headaches.
Bottle service was super easy to order. The minute we walked to our section we were greeted by a friendly host, Asia. She sat right next to me and explained different bottle prices and ways we could mix/​match the bottles if we wanted to. Bottles were all delivered at once. But true to her customer service, our hostess checked up on us all night. They even had NYE decorations and party favors set up for us! The waiter (or bar back) kept our area clean from dirty glasses (with a party of 10 it was hard to keep them accounted for), and checked to make sure our mixers were fully supplied.
It’s been over a week, and every time I run into someone that celebrated with us, there’s no shortage of «we should do that again!». Opal’s interior is beautiful. The crowd was amazing. The music kept us dancing all night. It’s safe to say Opal will be our go to spot for our nights out.

Clubbin’ nowadays isn’t the same as the clubbin’ I am used to going years ago. Maybe the fact that I am in my 30’s and feel out of place when I go (I only go because my best friend and our other friends loves dancing) doesn’t help. I don’t know, the music is mediocre… I remember when the old school house and hiphop music were the best music you can listen and dance to. Now, the DJ’s add some weird stuff… for example, some Bollywood music, which in no offense to Middle Easterns, is a bit odd to me. There are just some
music that should stay in the venue they are appropriate with. I have always gone clubbin’ listening to house and hiphop, so any other kind of music just throws me off.
As far as Opal, it is just like any other clubs that one can go to… nothing special about it. If you want to party it up, I suggest to save money and just hit Vegas!

If you want a fun, hip, and luxurious environment for a party this is a great space. We used OPAL for our Company Holiday Party and highly recommend it.
Monica was a pleasure to work with as she has lots of ideas and she will get involved as much or as little as you want her to be involved. She has great attention to detail and listens well which is what you want in your event manager. Monica truly understands high-​touch customer service which brightly shines through everyone on the staff from the DJ, bartenders, and security staff.

HUUUUGE upgrade from club Zen (before). There’s a lot more room and the décor is outrageous. Lots of detail into the architecture and design of this place.
I came with my co workers last Saturday and we had lots of fun. We danced the whole night and made sure we drank enough alcohol. The DJ was on point as well. The music and intensity of this place is about medium but it was enough to have us dancing all night.
Overall, this club is a lot better than before and has a great crowd. There are times where there’s older people on the floor which can be weird but then they float off later lol.

I have not been to this place since the remodel and will definitely say the upgrade was well worth it.
I will say the music is probably the best on Castro if you are looking for 90s or 00s music mixed with current hits but the down fall is there is a bar right next door that has a cheaper cover so many people choose that place over Opal.
The bartenders are really attentive which is a plus when a place gets packed and the crowd is older if you are looking for a late 20s early 30s crowd.

Came here one Friday night with my girlfriends, and there was a $ 5 cover before 11. WTF. We signed up for guestlist too but I guess it’s only free when it’s the weekend? Anyway, I loved the music and the fact that there’s a photographer to take your pics. THEY ACTUALLY UPLOAD IT ON FB, so thank you! There’s also a second floor for the ladies restroom as well as a lounge area. It’s small but usually no one is sitting there. The age of the crowd looks like it’s mostly late 20s-​30s. There were so many Indians the night I went, lol. I liked how most of the guys kept to themselves and weren’t creepers. Overall, I wouldn’t mind coming back here again.

First time coming here on Saturday and it was really fun! The crowd is diverse and the place was pretty packed. We got bottle service and the manager, Chris, took really good care of us.
I originally requested to book a table with 4 bottles but since 80% of the people that was suppose to go decided they were too tired to party, I texted Chris right away and he was so understanding. Even though I was exhausted from the wedding (I was a brideslave, I mean Bridesmaid lol), I had to come thru and show some love. So we just ordered 1 bottle and we barely drank it. I was drinking since 9am, my liver was hating me.
It was a great time nonetheless. I had 4 other people in my group and we just danced the night away. I was still in my bridesmaid dress too. ahahaha.
Our bottle service server Sarah was super cute and attentive. I really enjoyed myself here and really cannot wait to come back and bring all my fine ass girlfriends with me. Thanks Chris and Sarah for everything!

WOW, this place is awesome! My friend and I had a great time here on Halloween! I’ve never been there until a few days ago. I found this place on Unilocal thankfully. Since the pics looked nice, and the club is big, I decided to come here for Halloween, my favorite holiday. Some reviews on Unilocal are off, but I can assure you, the good ones for this place isn’t! Anyways, I took it as another good sign when the club owner or promoter texted and emailed me back with a question regarding tickets almost right away.
I’m so glad that I bought the tickets for my friend and I a few days ahead of time as it cost only $ 15 a person at the time. At the door, it was $ 30! AND the line was about a mile long by the time we left around midnight! I’d strongly recommend getting there when they first open. If it weren’t for the fact that we ended up at the Irish bar next door before going there, then we would’ve been the first people in line. Despite having tickets, we still had to wait maybe 20 minutes or more to get in.
I guess that this is a popular club, especially for what appears to be the under 30 crowd. Most of the people there dressed up-:)The place has two bars and a V.I.P area downstairs and upstairs. The place was decorated like a haunted mansion. There are a few nice chairs and lounge chairs to sit on here and there. Thank god that there is a small patio in the back as it was hot inside! Especially since I was in full costume as a black cat! My friend was wonder woman.
The people there are nice too! There was a guy out there cooking tacos who offered to take a pic of my friend and I. Also, the bartender there gave me my long island iced tea on the house after he apologized for forgetting about me. I didn’t even say anything, and he did that, how cool! So I left him a $ 2.00 tip anyways. The music was good. They played house music and edm that night. Neither of it is familiar to me, but they mixed it with some new wave and top 40 songs like Beyonce or something like that. It was easy to dance to, and a lot of of people did. Hardly anyone was at first, but once people started dancing, the floor was jam packed! We also liked the huge screens that showed scenes from movies like Scream!
I’ll never forget that huge dancing T-​rex that I ended up calling dino to my friend. I kept on asking her if dino was still around or not I loved watching that guy dance! It was amazing to how anyone could dance that well in a such a huge and bulky looking costume! Also, I loved that cute little white bear or dog. I think that in one pic, he might’ve been waving at me, lol! They were dancing together a few times which was really fun to watch! They were both the stars of the whole club that night! I got a few good pics of them both! I think that we’ll both go back there next year! If she can’t come with me, then I’ll drag my husband there for sure!

I was reached out by Michael for a complimentary table and bottle via Instagram. I decided to book it for my birthday weekend. Cover fee was $ 10 after the 4^th free guest. The venue was small but nice and clean with awesome staff. The music was right all night long and my friends said the tacos «hit the spot.» It was my first time ever at OPAL and I would definitely go back! My friends look forward to celebrating their birthday at OPAL night club in the near future.

Minus one star: My only gripe is that there was a hispanic bartender at the first bar that had the fattest attitude. I stood at the bar (it wasn’t busy) for a while and he glanced over at me proceeded to ignore me and went to flirt with some girl bartender. Someone else came to get my drink order.
Other than that, it’s a cool place to chill and dance.
