How foolish we’ve been this past year and a half, thinking Mountain View had so little to offer in the breakfast department! What a find, tucked away at the end of Castro! Their breakfast/brunch menu has lots to offer, lots to try– sweet things like French toast, crepes, and waffles, along with savory scrambles, crepes, and sandwiches. But the thing that makes them really remarkable is the kinds of pastries they have there… zaatar bread, baklava, borek, and simit! Simit, my Turkish arkadaslar! You won’t believe your gozler! The food quality is great, too. I had the vegetable crêpe, which came with mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes, monterey jack cheese, and avocado. It was a surprise to find the avocado on the side but it just meant I got to taste its full freshness and creaminess. The hash browns here are unbeatable as well. My fiancé got the scramble sandwich… He said it was a little plain. I think his exact words were«You might not like it, but I do!» –which is code for«your epicurean standards might scoff at this humble offering, but it’ll get ‘er done.» A weird note: it comes with white toast. Why you need toast with your sandwich, I don’t know. But they think you do here! Free wifi too! It can get a little loud when it’s full, so I can’t imagine hanging out here for hours… Unless they kept the baklava coming!

I tried the Tiramisu: Worst Tiramisu ever. No flavor, and the mascarpone cheese is too heavy.

The menu is so misleading! You get a lot more food than written on the menu… so all l wanted was soup and a sandwich. I thought they were oddly expensive, but now I know why… they came with a huge piece of baked pita bread and french fries, respectively. Facepalm. It didn’t help that I have a sweet tooth and ordered a slice of cheesecake with my meal. The good thing is, I had two meals out of this… still a bit pricy, in my opinion. Anyway, the lentil soup was pretty good, especially on a cold winter day. Loved the pita bread with it! I got the vegetarian sandwich, which was bomb! Loved the grilled eggplant and all the veggies inside. I heated the other half of the leftover sandwich the next day and it still tasted pretty good! Now, the best part — the crem brulee cheesecake. I do not regret this at all. So fluffy and delicious. I wish I bought 5 more slices. I meant to buy a slice to share with my colleagues, but nope, ended up hogging the whole thing to myself!

I’ve only tried one thing here and it’s their Neto Tea. The Neto Tea has been my latest morning favorite. I grab a cup right between getting off the caltrain and rushing to my office shuttle bus. It’s really simple — just hot water, tons of fresh mint, and some lemon. The huge bundle of mint they put in it makes the tea incredibly fragrant(people actually comment on how good my tea smells) and I always refill my cup with hot water at least twice at my office for prolonged minty pleasure. Their big case of croissants and breakfast pastries also looks promising — I’ll have to give it a shot one of these mornings.

I love their breakfast crepes + salad(except their dressing, so I ask it separate or to put a regular balsamic one). I always take the crepes so I can’t tell much about the other items on the menu :) Although there are breakfast crepes, you can have them anytime. I actually like them for dinner because I don’t feel overstuffed. Perfect size with a salad. Their staff is nice and friendly.

I’m always happy when I eat here. I know that some of the reviews say that it’s just fair, but I like their food. My son thinks that their fish and chips are excellent, plus it’s hard to find fish and chips at other Mountain View eateries. I’ve had their falafel which is pretty good as well as their panini’s(which really aren’t panini’s, but taste good). I used to always just go here for desserts, but then started eating meals here. I’m usually pleasantly surprised. Don’t forget to try their specials on the board instead of a standard menu item. Their soups are usually great. Desserts I highly recommend, but they’re pretty pricey in my opinion. However, quality is good.

Sat outside on a beautiful Saturday early afternoon. There were plenty of seats and my wife, dog, and I were soaking in the rays. A lot of room outside with nice tree cover; recommend outside seating if available and weather permits. We ordered two chicken paninis and the Mediterranean salad. –The panini wasn’t bad, but if they went with a larger sourdough instead of a bouget and grilled it(like a panini should be served) the meal would have been better. PASTA Q has way better sandwiches 100 feet away for The same price. But have no qualms, although small, the sandwich was good. I came with McDonalds type skinny fries and everything too about 15 – 20 min to get served. The Mediterranean salad was tasteless and a waste of money. Have you people tried it? Don’t get it. Under seasoned and is missing a lot. I would come back for the sandwich though if pasta q or la bamba burrito were closed.

***3.5 stars*** the day i came in, i was famished and craving breakfast food. but when i looked at the clock, and it said 11.30, i figured i was out of luck. lucky for me, they were still serving breakfast, even though it was already lunch time. i ordered the florentine crepes($ 8.95), which consisted of two crepes, a side of potatoes, and mixed greens. both crepes were filled with egg whites(upon my request) and a good amount of spinach and mozzarella cheese, but i felt that they were a bit on the oily side. the potatoes were a little overcooked, burnt, too hard and crunchy on the outside, but the inside was ok(once i was able to chew thru the tough exterior). the salad greens didn’t seem fresh, so i stopped after a few bites. the staff was very nice and attentive. i appreciated that one of the staff started chatting with me as i was waiting for my food, which made me feel welcome. there is free wifi here, so it was no surprise to me that many customers sat and worked on their laptops. there is lots of seating inside and outside the café and i liked the overall layout of this place. i definitely felt like i was in a relaxed and airy environment while i enjoyed my breakfast.

Neto is situated conveniently next to the Mountain View Caltrain /VTA station. In addition to coffee drinks, they offer Mediterranean items like falafel, couscous, and hummus, as well as panini sandwiches, salads, and pizza made from scratch. There’s also a small but beautiful display case full of decadent pastries and desserts. I’ve tried the Americano, which is nothing special, as well as the falafel, which is hearty and filling. I agree with other reviewers here in that it’s a bit expensive for what you get, but I guess you’re paying for the clean, comfortable, convenient location. Overall, a perfectly decent place to sit down and have a quick chat with friends or associates in downtown Mountain View if Red Rock and Dana Street Roasting are full, and if you want real food with your coffee. There are large tables perfect for small families and small groups of people, plus plenty of outdoor patio seating — perfect on a nice day for watching people, trains, and traffic stroll by.

Pricy. That’s the best way to describe this place. The coffee is okay, the food okay but it’s going to cost you an arm and a leg. It would be much nicer if a Peet’s was in this location. The staff was really nice though.

Yay I think I’ve found one of my new favorite places to work on the weekends! I’ve said that before about other places, but I’m really feeling the atmosphere here. Plenty of tables, and I think for 1 or 2 people, will not be hard to snag one. The comfy seats along the wall also have outlets underneath, so those will be my go-to spots. Plenty of items on the menu to choose from, though their coffee is only okay. Cooled off quickly, so I should’ve gotten a smaller size. Truly a coffee shop feel, with study music playing in the background. Noise level can get a little much, with all the conversations going on, but bring a pair of headphones and you’ll be fine. Today I tried their lamb shish kebab(asked for more salad instead of the rice). At $ 14, I’m a bit on the fence. It was a good amount of food, and the yogurt sauce complemented the chunks of lamb well. But the lamb itself was a bit dry, and rather hard to cut with the butter knife they gave me. I doubt I would get it again, but I’m open to trying other kebab dishes, or one of their sandwiches. So far, 2/2.5 stars for the food, 3/3.5 stars for the space.

Strolled in here because we were looking for a dessert spot on Castro. Cute café and friendly service. I got my two favorite desserts: macarons and tiramisu. Macarons– bite size for $ 1.25. I got a lemon one. Flavor and quality was ok. I wish there were more flavors to pick from. Tiramisu– not too sweet, which I like in my desserts, but the coffee flavor was too subtle I want to try out the other items on the menu for lunch.
