Fortuna Market

I’m in town for work M-​Th week in and week out. I live in San Diego and we have Mexican food on every corner like 7 – 11 is everywhere else. I had yet to find anyplace to get a burrito that didn’t have Bell or Del in the name… Until today! It’s actually a market that has a cocina in the corner where you can get fresh Mexican food prepared right before your eyes. I ordered a Carne Asada burrito (Super) and decide to walk around the market while she makes my food. Now you can’t do all your grocery shopping for the month here but if you need something now or you’re out of something chances are it’s here. Canned food, fresh produce and even a meat counter are some of the things they offer and the meat in the counter looked pretty darn good.
I talk with the kid (in his late 20’s or early 30’s and he’s actualy the owner and has been for about a year and seems to be doing quite well. Hes a nice polite guy and very friendly. Burrito is ready. gotta go! It’s huge and stuffed with all kinds of good things like guacamole and rice home made pico de gallo and the steak. Very good with a lot going for it… it could use a little more meat and a little less filler though.
All in all a great little market in a quiet neighborhood selling some pretty good prepared food. I’ll come try it again soon.

Tried the super burrito half asada half pastor for $ 8 and well it wasn’t worth it. The asada was over seasoned. The pastor was not bad (⁸⁄₁₀). I got the green salsa and not spicy what so ever. The red salsa was supposed to be spicy but nope. The service was great though

Our company orders from here regularly for our lunches. Timely delivery and tasty food. Price is very reasonable and the quantity is great. Suggestion is the veggie tacos. The beans are cooked to perfection. Carne Asada is a great choice as well. Whatever you order, it’s bound to be damn good.

A nice little Mexican market that also had a grill. Many different flavor of tacos and they were hands down the best in CA so far. Another win for hole-​in-​the-​wall restaurants.

Great neighborhood market with good produce, quick and tasty lunch and friendly staff!

This little place is awesome. I fly out of the military base just across the freeway from this joint and we pop in here all the time. It’s a typical corner grocery and meat market, but the food counter cooks up the best food in the area. I’d eat here before going to ANY full sized Mexican restaurant around here. Prices are good, food is excellent, and the people are awesome. Please help support this place so they can stick around for years to come.

It is one of the best discoveries we recently made at work-​place and has become our default choices among myself and some colleagues.

This is one of my go-​to places for lunch, as they make fresh tacos, burritos and other tasty stuff. The price is reasonable for what you get. I recommend the carnitas taco and chicken super burrito. They also have Mexican cokes.

My team and I bike here from the office for lunch at least twice a week. Their tacos are tasty, and the staff are genuinely kind and generous. I started coming here on weekends for raw spiced chicken and produce that simply doesn’t exist at major grocers. Also, weekends are when you get the family recipes that are amazing.

Great place to find fresh veggies and fruits whenever you want them. I have been shopping here for the last 5 months without fail and I can say it’s the best place nearby.

I forgot the name of the previous Mexican market that was here. It’s been renovated a bit and cleaned up. Many of the same Mexican goods as before and then some. The kitchen outs out Michoacan fare. Got some morisqueta which is the Michoacan pork rib in chili sauce over rice. Had the chef put on some griddled tripa to make it a meal. Add a horchata and youre good to go. Too bad it was rainy as they have an outside seating area. Next time!

I have been coming here for 5 years. It recently changed management and I like the new régime. The food, which I really liked before, has improved and the prices are great.
They are restocking and getting new products and produce in, and it is shaping up well.
Their fresh produce is always fresh and, compared to other stores, well priced.
