Stage Department Store

Worse setup of a store ever. Went in to purchase one shirt. Started looking for a checkout only to find there’s not really a main checkout. So I went over to the cosmetic counter and there was a lady ordering makeup out of a book so I went to the watch counter and the was one lady in front of me that turned around and told me I should go back to the cosmetic counter because she was going to take 20 minutes. I decided to wait behind her for a few because I knew the cosmetic counter was busy and she proceeded to have the checkout lady scan every item then talk about the price to her friend before making a decision and she had 20 more items so I went back to the cosmetic counter. Long story short it took 5 minutes to find a shirt and 15 to check out on a Wednesday night. Never again

Bought 2 pair sneakers. They arrived with the laces untied and not in the factory knot. When I called they said they are the shoes from the floor that people have tried on. Pushed out of shape, I said I didn’t buy used sneakers and the web site did not say used sneakers. She said they are not used. I said if any feet other than mine are in the sneakers they are used. Who knows how many smelly, stinky, fungus laden feet have been in the shoes. If it was noted on the web site, I would have not bought them. They did send me a prepaid return label.

Gimmicky sales promotions and coupons. Had two separate $ 10 off if spending $ 25 coupons. Sales clerk either refused to separate and ring up items to total $ 25 on two separate transactions, or was incompetent and unable to comprehend what to do. Had to spend like $ 85 to get the $ 20 savings supposedly requiring only a total of $ 50 spent. Will be taking stuff back tomorrow. Unclear and inconsistent pricing. Difficult to find a cashier/​register to check out… have to use the cosmetic counter most of the time as it is the only one staffed. They will try to push off «FREE» magazines on you at checkout time, which of course are anything BUT free. Don’t fall into that trap either.
I’ll save my money for Kohls and T. J. Maxx from now on. They know how to do it much better.
