We come to Mountain Home to visit family every year. Used to stay at the Best Western which is now an econolodge. Stayed at a couple of the other places and have come to prefer this Days Inn. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean, decent towels. Have used the hot tub and found it clean. I’m very sensitive to a hard or overly soft mattress and have not have any problems sleeping. Have not experienced nor seen the issues mentioned in other reviews. Breakfast is actually better than the usual offered at this type of hotel/motel. Eggs, sausage, juice, coffee, bagels, muffins, fruit, instant oatmeal, yogurt and even biscuits and gravy. They tend to offer the rooms close to the lobby and stairs as a convenience but recommend against it due to possible noise from folks using the stairs.

After reading the high reviews and ratings on TripAdvisor, I decided to give this Days Inn a chance(and at $ 60/night it looked like the best option). Let me begin… I’ll start with addressing the hotel and then address the staff. As another post indicates, this place was disgusting. The hallways all reeked of smoke, our door wouldn’t close all the way unless we pushed it closed, our shower handle fell off when I tried to turn on the shower, and our refrigerator was completely iced over from running too hard. Okay, on to the staff. I’m a big stickler for customer service. I can easily overlook physical problems with a hotel if the customer service is top-notch. This hotel was definitely lacking good customer service. My girlfriend and I were flying standby from San Francisco to Kansas City. We ended up having a tough time getting our flights and so I stayed in contact with the hotel staff so as not to be charges. I first called the hotel staff BEFORE the 24-hour 100% back cancellation period and I told them we will probably be a day late and I didn’t want to be charged. They said, «no problem, we’ll make a note and charge you for the nights you actually stay». The customer service seemed great. Our saga continued and we were unable to make it the following day. So I once again called BEFORE the 24-hour 100% back cancellation period and they told me the same thing, «no problem, we’ll make a note and only charge for the nights you stay». Upon arrival, 2 nights later than we had hoped, I was told that I was not going to be charged for the first night I missed but that I was going to be charged for the second. After fighting with the guy at the counter he told me that this needed to be taken up with Days Inn customer service since it’s their policy. I then called the customer service # provided and the man on the phone told me to take it up with the hotel manager since he’s the only one that can remove this charge. After several encounters with various staff members I was finally told by the hotel manager, «we’re not suppose to do this but we did it for you», even though Days Inn customer service representatives told me he could. Well, I’ve got news for you hotel manager, if YOUR staff tells me that it’s okay for me to not pay then that is a problem with YOUR staff and I’m not going to pay for any night that I’m not there. I would have gladly cancelled my entire reservation and rescheduled upon arrival had your staff told me that I would have been charged. Easy as that. Anyway, customer service is awful, the hotel is okay at best, and the breakfast sucked! I will definitely never stay here again and I’ll advise all friends and strangers alike to stay elsewhere.

Absolutely terrible. The hotel owner is rude, his staff is poorly trained, the breakfast is disappointing, and the actual state of the hotel is best described as shabby. The walls are paper-thin, the«view» is of a water tower, the hot tub by the pool is about 5 degrees warmer than the pool water(aka not a hot tub at all), and the hallways smell strongly of smoke and mildew. There are plenty of other hotels in the area at comparable rates and I would HIGHLY recommend going to pretty much any of them(or staying at a nearby resort, which happens to be both less expensive and has a pool and beautiful views). I don’t think I’ll ever stay at another Days Inn again anywhere.
