Metro Fresh Supermarket

I don’t know what you could complain about, the people are wonderful, the place is sparkling clean and the manager is there to give you a helping hand. He heard me say they did not have nutella, (actually I did not look to hard for it) and he brought it to me as I was going up to the cashier’s, that’s what I call a person that know’s what people want and that’s how you run a business. Keep up the good work and maybe our neighbor’s will appreciate the fact that we did not have it to good before you got here.
Thank you for being there for all of us around the corner.

The fruit and produce ae bad, brown, old and horrible. And the owner of this store boots and tows your car. Don’t go !

Omg I was in here the other day… I like this small chain grocery store! 2 blocks away from my house. Close to hone, clean, and very well stocked and fresh. Never had a problem with my produce and well priced! Seriously I paid around $ 8 – 9 for a pack of 6 nice pork chops. I know it would’ve cost me an arm and a leg at another store. People are friendly and always asking if I need help. Deli selection is small but they have boars head and that’s all I care about!

I’ve waited a VERY long time to review this supermarket. I’ve spoken to the manager and I have tried to give them chances to fix what was wrong here. They didn’t. Well, they did but it only lasts a week after I speak to them. Then they revert back to their bad practices.
I will be posting pics with this. I only just figured I should start taking pictures of the nasty that enters my house.
THE PROBLEMS:
Nothing is fresh. I have received so many moldy fruits and veggies that I don’t have enough fingers to count them on. I used to just throw them away. Then I thought to myself «why am I wasting money on veggies that should be fresh but aren’t?»
So, I started to bring back those rotten things and he would say sorry, we are going to see how we can change this, BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH. NEXT!
NEXT PROBLEM:
MOLDY RANCID MEAT. 3X ALREADY! I feed the meat to my dog and as we all know with them, the stinkier the better. So, I don’t complain about the meat because it’s not me eating it. HOWEVER! This is NOT meat fit for human consumption. Last month I bought chicken necks that were so rancid I could smell them from the grocery bag without being opened.
This morning I opened up a meat I just bought and between the stacks of overlaying meat was GREEN SMELLY NASTINESS. I didn’t feed that to the dog even.
RIGHT NOW: THEY HAVE JEWISH RYE BREAD THAT EXPIRED LAST WEEK ON THE SHELF. I picked it up days ago, saw the expiration, put it down. Checked this morning to see if it’s still there. Oh! Don’t you worry Mold Lovers, it’s still there! :)
They need new management or they need to figure out where they are going wrong with so many things. The only thing I can safely buy here is canned goods, etc. Things they don’t have to keep fresh.
Open up a whole foods instead here as they have a massive basement!
Unless you hit a delivery day where they are JUST stocking the fruits and veggies — do not buy them. A lot of them look okay on the outside only to be the most vile things on the inside.
Really, I didn’t want to have to bash this place because it is new (ISH) and I don’t want to be a bitch but COME ON!!!

Loved it the first couple of weeks of their opening. Very convenient location for needed supplies and now they have beer so even better. The produce prices are great but the quality could be better. Their prepared fruits and veggies are price better then chain supermarkets. Again make sure you check the date and the quality. Have not order from the deli but they have many prepared foods and full deli. The bread is fresh. They have a nice small but nice selection of Portuguese items not usually found in chain supermarkets and made my GF very happy. I keep going back for the convenience and the produce.
I forgot and this took a star away the cashier need more training on types f produce and if they are not sure most will or go on the register and have to look it up in by scrolling in alphabetic order. On a every occasion but one the cashier was not sure of the price and asked another associate whom gave the incorrect price which I had to say something. I thought this was bad since they were sale items that were in their flier. SO watch at checkout and double check your receipt.

Just attended the grand opening of Metro Fresh, it takes u the foot print of th the defunct Key Foods in Mt. Vernon/​Fleetwood. Very cute well done place will all the the upscale ammenities, a great addition to the neighborhood.
