The Eye Site

Today was my first time going to The Eye Site and I can not say enough great things about them! From the thorough examination that Dr. Mendez did to the amazing women in the front office. Everyone is sweet and fun and makes your experience with them a great one! Definitely recommend!!!

I made an appointment with Dr. Yonatan after reading reviews here on Unilocal.As a young type I diabetic, I wanted to find a local doctor I felt I could trust with my optical health. The office staff was friendly and helpful… when trying on frames, I felt like they gave me honest opinions on which frames suited my face… and which didn’t!
Dr. Yonatan was prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and very patient with my questions! At the end of my appointment, I honestly felt like I had just experienced the most thorough eye exam of my life. She observed a retinal abnormality and referred me to a specialist. I appreciated that rather than saying «let’s check this again in 6 months,» she took the more proactive approach.

I was recently referred to Dr. Yonaton for contact lens fitting for my horrible vision and Kertaconus condition… one word AMAZING! Not only is she kind, super smart and attentive she really feels a passion for patients and their desire to see! The office staff is amazing, easy to work with and competent in insurance information testing, and treatment options! I would recommend this lady to anyone! Not only can she help correct your vision but spends the time making sure contacts are fitted just right! I live in the city but do not mind this drive to seek expert care! Kudos to this office and physician!

I wound up here with my daughter who had a swollen eye lid. We had gone to a Walgreens clinic thinking it was something minor, they referred us to Dr. Yonatan down the street. The office staff was very nice with my daughter who was in pretty decent spirits.
Dr. Yonatan took a look at her and suggested we try to get her pediatrician on the phone despite it being after 5. He said to bring her to him for more treatment. The doctor was so nice about the whole thing and has called twice to follow up on my daughter since this happened the other night. And we’re not even regular customers of hers!!!
If you live in the area and need an optometrist I’d recommend Dr. Yonatan. The strip mall her office is in is kind of sketchy but don’t worry, it’s fine.

I was looking for a local eye doc that took VSP insurance. I found them online and booked an appointment. Chris was extremely helpful when I was asking about contacts, glasses, etc. Dr Bert was very patient with me as I tried contact lenses for the first time (multifocal). I had been to LensCrafters before, and the exam with Dr. Bert was extremely comprehensive. Needless to say I am very happy with my contacts.

We absolutely LOVE Dr. Yonatan. She is very professional, educated, and kind. I trust my whole family with Dr. Yonatan. She is extremely thorough and skilled in her field. I highly recommend her! Thank you for all of your help!

I recently had an exam with Dr Choi and she was very thorough with the examination. She was so patient and took the time to answer all of my questions. As I walked out of the examination room, I was completely satisfied.
However, the staff is a different story! I waited out in front to pay and the optician who «fit glasses» was oblivious to her surroundings. After I hand her a bill to pay for my co-​pay, she stared at it long enough for me to ask, «Do you have change?» She then proceeded behind the counter to give me change. Suddenly another customer came into the store, in which she left me and ended up helping him! I then ask, «Am I done?» Without even looking at me, she replied yes. So I just left the store. Well, an hour after that moment I received a call from the Eye Site telling me I didn’t pay for my contacts fitting!!!
So I had to come back a second time to pay my bill and receive a Pupil Distance reading, which was not done during the first visit. The optician did had these «binoculars» that measure PD. Before I could say anything, she took out the PD readers from a drawer and stuck them on my face! Being a germaphobe, I felt disgusted she didn’t even wipe the readers that touch my make-​up and semi-​oily skin!
The other lady who sat behind the desk found out I was buying my frames online and not in-​store. She didn’t know how it was possible that I will be covered even after I explained that I called my insurance co to verify and how they even sent me a reimbursement form. She was pressuring me into buying the frames and lens in-​store and claimed it would be 100% reimbursed! That is complete BS since I am aware of what my insurance covers. Maybe if this store has a wider selection of glasses and competent staff working in the front, I would be incline to buy the stuff here.
I thought customer service was completely lost on these soccer moms, that is until I met the only staff in the front who was competent and professional — he was a dark-​haired gentlemen. He helped me out during my visits here and answered all my questions over the phone. He was very patient and understanding to my needs.
Overall, if you live close to this site and just need an exam so you can buy glasses and lens on-​line, then I would recommend Dr Choi and try to look for the gentlemen in the front to help you with all the billing and transactions.
