My wife got our kid’s birthday cake from here, chocolate-chocolate with a fondant cover. She wanted an ice skating theme and they did a great job, it was professional and tasty. Just to get something extra, she got some chocolate frosted brownie bars. They were unreal. They are a bit expensive but since they are so allergy-aware I think they must also have a very clean kitchen, which is pretty important to me.

I went there today to order cupcakes for my daughter because one of her friends has a nut allergy, I ordered custom Elmo cupcakes and purchased a confetti with vanilla frosting and a chocolate with chocolate frosting cupcake to taste and WOW by far the best chocolate cupcake I’ve ever had(and believe me I’ve had A LOT) I will always come here !

So I don’t eat cake. I’ve just never been a big cake eater. I found Nutphree’s online when I searched«Toothless Dragon» cakes. My daughter just celebrated her 5th birthday last weekend and LOVES anything How to Train A Dragon. The Nutphree’s website showed an image of their cake with a fondant Toothless dragon on the cake, I called, placed order — chocolate cake with chocolate filling — purple/pink frosting w/green writing… the person I talked to very friendly, accommodating, etc. Did I mention I live in Chicago? My brother lives in Arlington Heights, so they picked up the cake on the way in for the party. Cut to the chase… the cake was AMAZING. Not only was it exactly what I ordered(and Lola loved it) — but it was incredibly delicious. It was dense, moist(dare I say), perfect amount of sweetness. It was so good I picked at the leftovers all weekend. I almost had to pull a Miranda and put it in the garbage can and squeeze dish soap on it so I’d stop eating it it was so good. And I don’t eat cake. Highly recommend — thank you Nutphree’s we will be ordering from you again.

Not only are they fabulously nut free, they are fabulous. Quite possibly the best cupcakes I’ve had. We have ordered cakes from them as well and they’re equally yummy. if you’re hosting an event with guests with nut allergies, sweets from this place will make everyone feel included!

We purchased our wedding cake from Nutphree’s without ever tasting a product… When we tasted it we were blown away! The red velvet cake was amazing! People who have eaten fondant will tell you that it doesn’t have much flavor. Nutphree’s fondant is great-my guests were saying its kind of «marshmallow-ie». We all ate it! We purchased 2 tiers, a 6″ with a 4″ on top(which will be our anniversary cake). We sliced the 6″ cake pie-style and those who ate cake had big pieces and we had a piece leftover for my breakfast the next morning! I can’t be sure who all ate cake and who ate a mini-cupcake, but we fed between 9 and 11 guests. We also got 6 mini-cupcakes in red velvet and 6 chocolate. All covered in cream cheese frosting with a red fondant rose poised on top. My niece who is allergic to nuts enjoyed it, so that made it worth the extra effort. All of our communications with Becky were great. We met in person and she was very clear as to what she could and couldn’t do.(For instance she couldn’t stencil a pattern on the cake because no one makes a nut-free spray, however she did get a pattern on the fondant as promised, just a little differently.) Thank you cake-baker Becky!

Amazing, delicious cupcakes! I can’t believe they are nut-free. I know you can find these cupcakes at some Mariano stores, frozen, but they can’t beat the fresh cupcakes from this location!

I love cupcakes, yes I do! I love cupcakes how ’bout you? For breakfast, lunch and/or dinner I could eat them . I’ve likely eaten hundreds of cupcakes over the past 30 years, so maybe that also makes me a little picky… Having just moved to the area a few months ago, I finally had the opportunity to stop into this shop for some tasty treats. I read many online reviews and checked out the business website, so I suppose my expectations were set high. Big kudos to the owners for filling a niche; nut-free sweets. Another thumbs up for having a pretty cupcake display case, clean shop and friendly staff. Flavors are limited(imo). By the time I arrived(around 1pm) to the shop the banana nut variety was already sold out. Bummer. However, I wasn’t about to leave empty handed! I snagged the red velvet, lemon, confetti and chocolate flavors. After sampling everything I purchased, the cream cheese frosting on the red velvet cupcake was the highlight of my box. The red velvet cupcake lacked a little flavor to me, or maybe it was just overpowered by the yummy frosting. The confetti cupcake with chocolate frosting was very dry to me and the lemon cupcake with vanilla frosting was only slightly more moist than the aforementioned. Flavors were tasty despite the dryness. Double chocolate(chocolate frosting + chocolate cake) was by far my favorite combo. The chocolate cake was moist. Overall, the cupcakes tasted good, but not gourmet. $ 16 on ½ doz. cupcakes is definitely a splurge on something I wasn’t blown away by. I may return to try the banana flavor. I’d recommend this bakery to those searching for a nut-free dessert. Cupcakes would be a big hit with younger kids. They also sell cookies and brownies! If you don’t suffer from allergies and are searching for something more decadent, I’d shop around.

Most AMAZING cupcakes — even better than Sprinkles! While I was in Mt. Prospect this afternoon, I randomly stopped by Nutphree’s for a dozen cupcakes to bring back to my office(in the Loop) and they were SUCH a BIG hit! The cupcakes were so good that they were gone in less than 5 minutes — I seriously should have gotten 3 dozen! Highly recommend stopping by if in Mt. Prospect OR trying them at Mariano’s !

If you have nut allergies, then this place will be worth your while, despite small selection and almost $ 3 a cupcake. I don’t have nut allergies but I was in the area and thought to give this place a try. Baker was polite. I had the banana bread cupcake with vanilla frosting… overly sweet for me, but may be right for you.

Since this bakery is just down the street from my job, I have to restrain myself every day from indulging. I don’t have any nut allergies, so the first time I went in I was a little confused because I was under the impression that most cupcake recipes don’t use nuts. But I was blown away by how delicious they were! I especially recommend the banana with cream cheese frosting, which makes me want to live in a small tent outside the store just to make sure I can eat every single one every day. There are about 10 flavors to choose from, and like other reviewers have stated there are a few other snacks to choose from too, but the general outlay of the store is pretty simple and frill-less(it’s eerily quiet, I wish they would play a little music). But for a grab-and-go cupcake place, it does the trick for me!

LOVE this bakery! They have delicious, moist, fair priced treats! The fact that they cater to special needs diets is a plus, and is what won them my business. Very reasonable prices. Only thing holding back from being 5 star was not having a «huge» selection of flavor variety but they have already come a long way since I have started eating here and I just know with time they will increase the menu!

Finally! I can bring treats to my sons’ school! Nutphree’s was approved(by my ultra-picky suburban school) and the cupcakes were amazing and adorable. I ordered some Halloween themed mini’s last minute and they had them ready in a jiffy all nicely packed with an information card I could present to the school so the director wouldn’t have a breakdown. And… they were delicious! The owners are a husband and wife duo who really understand allergies as their child is allergic. They’re super friendly and sweet too — willing to go above and beyond. Stop in and don’t miss this gem in the ‘burbs!
