I haven’t been at this location for about 4 years and I must say there are a lot of changes. It looks customer-friendly and I am positively surprised.

Jewel leaves food on the shelf that has already expired. Not by a few days but by two months. My dad purchased an item on May 17, 2015 that expired on March 17, 2015. Not his fault-he’s 86. Customer Service was not too concerned except for the fact that I was«threatening» not to shop there again. What a disgrace!

Toooo Overpriced, bad produce. Employees complaining in the produce section about how to grab apples and how the apples have to be organized in a specific way. The cashiers talk to other cashiers and not pay attention to the customer. The baggers don’t pay attention and bag groceries really heavy and smash items

Very clean well organized layout better than most jewels that I’ve been to. Wish the pharmacy had better hours, other than that it’s a very nice tool. Wide selection at the deli and bakery. Plenty of parking. prices are always very good and competitive. The produce is always fresh and well organized.

I ran into this store to purchase a few things not to do weekly grocery shopping. I had a hard time finding the candy idle. The store was average and the experience was average. There is nothing great and nothing terrible to really say.

I went in straight to the alcohol section to buy some liquor. From the moment I got there a man asked me if I needed help and kept following me around. After I got what I needed I walked towards the cash register. A manager named STEPHANIE kept following me and staring at me. Once I got to the cash register the manager walked towards the cashier and told the cashier she would take care of me. She asked me for my ID. She did not say ONE word to me but asked me for it. Once I gave it to her she returned it back to me and left. Then the cashier charged me and finished my transaction. I found it extremely disrespectful that she kept following me around the store and once I got to the register she only asked for my ID. I do not know if its because I am a young hispanic woman, but she sure made it seem like she had a problem with me. I do not know if she thought I would steal the liquor from there but this is not a way to treat loyal customers. I will NOT be returning here, ever. Customer service is essential and I was treated very disrespectfully.

Ok, maybe five stars is irrational for a Jewel, but this store is sooo much bigger and nicer than any I’ve been in so far that it shines at least in comparison to the rest of the chain. The one in Evanston was such a hole with some of the least appealing produce I’ve ever seen in a supermarket. Fortunately I was introduced to Fresh Farms in Niles which is like the best market ever. Not that we would ordinarily shop at a place like Jewel very often, but this one is so big and seems to have pretty much everything you can imagine, not to mention being super convenient, so it’s definitely going to be handy for the occasional item or two. the deli has lost our order numerous times. even with calling the day before and getting an email confirmation. there is nothing worse than when you hand them your order printout and you see the confused looks on their faces. this most recent time they whipped together my order as fast as they could but i was still late delivering it to the work event. not cool, jewel. not cool.
