Really great food. Excellent veal! A lot of homemade ingredients and you can tell. They were very accommodating to a large group.

I have been in Mount Laurel for almost 3 months but tonight was my first time at this place, I feel like I should have tried it before. I ordered the mussels with white sauce for appetizer and oh my God! I finished a whole loaf of bread on this sauce. I got the chicken piccata for dinner and it was heavenly. My waitress Theresa was very friendly and took her time telling me about their specials. I’ll be coming back here for sure! I couldn’t finish my piccata after filling up on all this bread and mussels but I had to get my free dessert, I asked for the Sogno Nero and I fell in love with the rich creamy taste of this chocolate mousse :)

I have now dined here half a dozen times while in the Mount Laurel area. The food is fresh and the menu selection, especially the specials, have all been great! They will even deviate from the menu if you choose. Last time here I ordered the linguine pasta with swordfish special and expected a few slivers of fish in my pasta. As you can see by the picture it was anything but! One very large, fresh swordfish steak on a bed of linguine! The service here is also superb. The waitresses are very attentive in making sure everything meets your expectations… seating, food and drinks. Speaking of drinks, Al Fresco is in a dry town. For those of you that are not familiar with a dry town, they do not serve alcohol. The first time we ate here I thought it was a big negative, but on the contrary. You can bring your choice of wine(or beer) and they will happily bring you the glasses(a cold one for the beer), with no corking fee! To be able to bring the wine of your choice is great since you are not paying 3 times the price! I look forward to eating here again and again!!!

From out of town and find Ristorante Al Freesco to be a very nice restaurant. The service was great and food was good. Most customers seem to be regulars. This trip I had the 2 pork-chops which had great flavor, but was slightly dry. Would definitely come back for another meal.

Combine the food, service and price, and you have a five star place. The fried zucchini appetizer was surprisingly good. For mains, we preferred the risotto over the scallops/shrimp angel hair. Overall, the price tag was low and we had a good time. What else could you ask for?

Saw this on Unilocal.Very reasonable and I loved the food. Great service. The riceballs were a hit and the veal was tender. Just what I was looking for. I’ll be back for the early bird tomorrow

This restaurant was awesome! The rice ball(I forgot the fancy name) appetizer is a MUST. Also their tiramisu was delicious. Staff was very nice too. «Early bird» specials from 4 – 6 pm are a great deal.

This place is truly a hidden jem. Went there with my wife for a night out and we were very pleased with the overall experience. I had the eggplant parm which was very good; lightly breaded, crispy on the outside, just the right amount of cheese and tomato sauce. My wife got the salmon special which we both really enjoyed as well. The portions are very large and the prices are very reasonable. Our server Debbie treated us like family and she was very accommodating. She recommended the banana roulad for dessert and even though we were totally stuffed we had to try and and is was so outstanding we had to finish it! They have some attractive early bird dinner specials and if you work near bye they have some great lunch specials as well. Overall this place is an exceptional value. Don’t forget to BYOB! I have been searching for my go to Italian place for about 2 years since our previous favorite closed down and I think this place is it! We will definitely be back soon.

Ristorante Al Fresco is a cozy little Italian Restaurant hidden within a strip mall that I would have never found without Unilocal(even though I pass it on route 73 to work every day)! I was seated as soon as I got in and was given a choice to pick the crowded side or the empty side to sit at; I chose the empty side in a heartbeat. The décor was very nice, every table had a white table cloth and a candle to give a classic Italian date night feel. The wait staff was very friendly too. Our waitress came back several times and talked to me while I was waiting for my date to arrive. I witnessed the staff being very accommodating by extending the Early Bird special to an elderly couple who came in around 6:10 trying to make the 4:00 — 6:00 special. I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana($ 15.95) and my date ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo($ 12.95). My meal was a huge and delicious piece of chicken that I was very happy to eat! It came with a side of pasta and some vegetables, but I was in it for the chicken. My date’s Alfredo was huge as well and she took half it home for lunch the next day(unless her mom got to it first). Unilocal also has a «free dessert with a purchase of an entrée» deal, but we passed as we were so full already and this has been a very chocolate winter already for me. The Early Bird Special, as mentioned earlier, has several dinners for only $ 10.95, which is one of the best deals around from Monday to Friday. The bill for the two entrees came to $ 31 before tip, which I was very happy with! Good prices, friendly staff, intimate décor, and delicious food makes this a 5-star place! Maybe next time i’ll catch the Early Bird Special!

This was our third time dining here, and this visit unfortunately was not as good an experience. While we enjoy the atmosphere(it can get kind of loud) and the service, we found the food lacking. Our meal included two red sauces. Not sure if the same sauce was used in both dishes, but it was too salty for my taste. The scallops and shrimp in my pasta dish were not flavorful, and the texture of both were on the chewy side. My husband had rack of lamb and enjoyed it, although the side of beans were barely warm and were limp. I’m not saying we’ll never eat here again, but there are too many other local Italian restaurants we like more.

I received an email from the restaurant owners(via Unilocal!), stating that their(I hope) EX-ACCOUNTANT screwed up and they are open once again! I haven’t verified this so if anyone on Unilocal!can comment, the Unilocal Community would be much obliged! :-)

Back for my return visit. The waitress was still efficient and friendly. Tonight I ordered the Shrimp Santorini with a bowl of minestrone soup. The soup was very good with big chunks of vegetables. The Shrimp Santorini was good, but could have been much better. The problem was the shrimp were frozen, not fresh. No flavor. For $ 19, I expected fresh. Also the dish would have been better with a better quality of feta cheese. Again, no flavor. If they had sliced in a couple of kalmata olives in the sauce, it would have added an additional zip to the dish. I’ll still go back and try another dish, if they’ll let me in the door after this review.(smile)

Have you ever wanted to find a small little place where they know your name and you just know the food is going to be like grandmas… this is that place. Food — AMAZING. I can’t believe that you can find this authentic homemade food at a restaurant. I’ve had about half the stuff on the menu as I keep coming back each and every time I return to the area which has been every week lately. Service — AMAZING. The staff get to know you and have things waiting for you before you ask for it. They are so friendly and wait on you like your a family member coming to visit from far away. Cleanliness — Way above expectations. Given that this small little place is in a strip mall you’d probably think twice before stopping. Don’t…the place is clean, warm and welcoming. Overall — AMAZING. If you’ve ever read my reviews which are quite a few, I’ve only given less than 10 places a 5 star rating. This place deserves it and more. I’ll be back at the very least once a week. Oh yeah, the prices are super low and the portions are HUGE. You really can’t go wrong.

Had take out tonight from this excellent local(NOT A CHAIN) gem. Second time we have done take out from here. Both times excellent. Two Chicken dishes tonight Saltimboca and a dish with caramelized onions and mushrooms in a demi Glacé. Huge portions and nice sides of excellent sautéed green beans and ziti in a nice tomato gravy. Excellent crusty bread with light texture. would like to know who bakes the bread… Good minestrone soup for less than $ 2 extra. Staff is very nice and accommodating from taking the order on the phone to preparing the take out which is why I tip as if I had sit down service. We will most certainly come again.

I need to take a minute and show these folks the love. This is a hole-in-the-strip-mall Italian option in Mt. Laurel that Unilocal steered me to, and the food was surprisingly good. The bruschetta was definitely homemade and interesting, with the tomato far chunkier than I’ve ever seen but extremely tasty, and with a subtle bite instead of the overly aggressive stuff you normally see. Ravioli was competently executed as well, and the recommended dessert, a sort of banana ice cream cake combo, was absolutely weird but somehow worked. Staff were good but a little frazzled, mainly because there was another diner making a scene. I was bemused when they asked if I knew what chicken cordon bleu was(a special that night), but then I heard another table asking«What kind of meat is capellini?» so I shouldn’t be so much of a snob.* They’re obviously bringing Italian to folks who aren’t familiar with the non-Olive-Garden version, and it was nice to see! Anyway, the best thing about Ristarante Al Fresco is that almost everything is made onsite, and you can tell in the flavor. Far from fancy, but well worth your time. * I made it well into my thirties before I figured out the right way to say«prix fixe,» so I shouldn’t even talk.

Underrated would best describe this establishment. It’s easy to overlook this Italian restaurant due to it’s location in a strip mall. Had the best service I’ve ever had in any restaurant to date. Were taking jokes, high fives, great food recommendations, timely follow-up with the water refills… the whole shabang(*) Had ravioli bikini/panini/belini(sp?) and my friend had the lasagne. Everything tasted great… 5⁄5 in terms of taste and 5⁄5 for value also. We ordered before 6pm so each dish was 8.95 which is great. On Unilocal they also have a 50% deal for a $ 20 meal voucher which has to be purchased before hand. *Why 4 star? Both my friend and I got mad awkward vibes from waitress who for some reason thought we were gay lol* I should also take another star off for the suuuper RASPY sounding bus lady but I’m in a good mood today so I’ll let it slide. UPDATE1 Took my dad here for lunch. We had a great time. There was no crowd, they had great background relaxing music playing which really sets up a relaxing atmosphere. Great choice for someone who gets anxious in crowded places and loud restaurants. We both ordered Cesar’s salad(sp?), my dad ordered their special of the day which was tilapia and I had the ravioli Bellini in pink sauce. All ingredients in the salad were fresh. My dad enjoyed his tilapia. My ravioli was delicious add well. Total with 20% tip came out to ~24 $. Keep in mind these are lunch hour prices(8 – 9 $/dish). Service was also great, prompt and courteous with thorough explanations of menu. * only complaint this time… Is that my ravioli Bellini was barely warm. When I ordered it the first time(see review on top), it was definitely warmer. Not sure weather that’s because they microwaved my plate the first time or what but I enjoyed it more the first time around *
