Been here a couple times. The Kalbi is good. My brother enjoyed the sides. I was missing the traditional steamed egg side which I love with Kalbi. Some of the other dishes lacked seasoning or marinade like the seafood.

Our family dined at this restaurant recently and loved it! The food and service were great! The servers were very personable and attentive to our needs. We’ll definitely be back!

First time there. Food was very good! Service was very nice, maybe just a bit slow. However, the owner took the time to come to our table and ask if we have ever had Korean BBQ before… we hadn’t, so it was very nice to have him explain some things. Enjoyed it very much!

Food was okay, but really poor service. Our server forgot to bring my credit card back.

If I could give this place no stars I would. Seriously, I have never been more frustrated with a restaurant until I came to Kimchi. I came here yesterday with my family for a Mother’s day dinner since we expected all other restaurants to be packed. Upon entering, we were confused to see two sides to the restaurant. After waiting and looking around a server finally came up to us and asked if we were going to do BBQ or just regular dine in. We decided not to do BBQ and were seated on the right side of the restaurant. After sitting, it took our server 15 minutes to give us water, and another 15 minutes to give us the side dishes. The side dishes were so sad… It was odd that at a Korean restaurant they gave us yellow pickled radish when we didn’t order any black bean noodles… Traditionally the pickled radish is only given when you order black bean noodles. Furthermore, it took our server a while before we had to ask her to take our order. My mom and dad ordered the bibimbap which is literally just rice, veggies and an egg in a bowl. I ordered the dolsut bibimbap which is essentially the same thing except it’s in a hot stone bowl. My sister ordered the spicy cold buckwheat noodles. It seriously took up to 30 – 45 minutes to receive any food… ITSJUSTRICEANDVEGGIESIN A BOWL. How hard could it be??? They seriously had to have waited for the chicken to lay the egg before they decided to make our food. The order in which our food came out didn’t make sense as well. My dad received his bibimbap and I received my dolsut bibimbap but my mother who ordered the same thing as my dad did not receive her dish… After waiting another 10 minutes my mom’s dish came out and my sister’s did not. After another additional 15 minutes when almost all of us were closed to finishing our food, my sister’s cold noodles finally came out. Bibimbap is supposed to be simple but savory. The egg is supposed to be sunny side up but the egg given to us was fully cooked and rubbery… there was no flavor to the dish and the hot pepper paste also had no flavor!!! I seriously felt like I was eating nothing… At the bottom of my bowl my rice was swimming in sesame oil. There is only supposed to be a thin coating of sesame oil around the bowl. My sister’s noodles tasted like tostito chips… they used the wrong type of noodles for the dish. Everything about this restaurant was a serious let down. It’s hard to find good Korean food around Center City in philly where I’m from, but it’s even worse in Cherry Hill. My family left the restaurant full off of disappointing food. What a waste of $ 60.

Kimchi Korean BBQ is the third Korean establishment that I have dined at in the S. Jersey Philadelphia region. While the wife and I enjoy the sit down dining service, we enjoy the experience of having the meats grilled at the table with Banchan. Kimchi Korean BBQ is one of the two establishments in the S. Jersey area that that provide this dining style. There are certain aspects we enjoy more at the other location, and vice versa, but overall we are pretty satisfied with the food experience at Kimchi Korean BBQ. Kimchi provides you with smaller portions, but will provide you with extra helpings of any banchan item you request. The portion size of meat at Kimchi Korean BBQ is smaller but seasoned slightly better. The service at Kimchi is not bad. The staff is very attentive but, they can get lost at times. I truly believe there are not enough people on staff. The first time I was here it was as if the entire restaurant was at my table. I had one person placing the meat on the grill and another individual flipping it. Then there are times you are waiting 10 minutes to get water or service in general. There are two sides to the restaurant. On one side the kitchen prepares the food. The other side is dedicated to the patrons seeking the table Korean BBQ experience. Upon entering the restaurant the waitress/host sat us without asking what dining service we wanted. We were placed at a table with a grill but realized we were on the wrong side of the restaurant when I had to ask the waitress a question about the meats offered. She had to relocate us to the other side of the restaurant which is not a big deal big deal but, the service was lagging that night and this did place us behind a couple of patrons that entered the restaurant after us. Kimchi Korean BBQ is one of the very few places for Korean BBQ in S. Jersey. The good news is that even though the service can be spotty at times, you will not be disappointed when it comes to the food.

We ate there for dinner with friends, party of 4 adults and 8 kids and it was great. This is now our new favorite Korean spot.

My new go-to sushi place. Food was amazing. Try the«Trifecta» roll! The chef was extremely friendly. He came to our table and made sure everything was to our liking. We will definitely be back!

I really wanted to like this place. I had a few spoonful of my bf’s KalbiTang and it was MSG soup. I was so thirsty the rest of the night. On the other hand my Dolsotbibimbap was pretty delicious. I do wish they gave me the option of raw or cooked egg. I like my egg raw but they gave it to me precooked. :( They also need to be better prepared in regards to rice. Korean restaurant ran out of fresh rice, and we had to wait quite a bit before our food came out. They were pretty generous with refilling the banchan. So thumbs up for that. The one perk is there generally isn’t a wait to get seated. But then again there maybe a reason why.

Slowwwww service and terribly bland food. It took 20 minutes for us to receive banchan at our table, and another 20 minutes to be served our meals. When they finally brought our meals out, they didn’t come at the same time. The first person to be served their meal was done eating by the time the last person was served theirs. Two dolsots were served at once, and one was sizzling hot while the other was lukewarm. The shrimp tempura box came with only two pieces of shrimp, yet cost $ 13. I won’t be returning here.

2.5 stars. So it’s close to home… basically our go-to korean restaurant. This space has been through a lot of owners, and at first, I was pretty happy after the last«grand opening.» It’s pricey for Korean, probably cheaper than Manhattan prices. But then again, there’s really no competition here. The food was good but the past couple times we went, orders were wrong, or they ran out of such and such and the sushi bar wasn’t even open(on a weekend evening?). Maybe we happened to go on bad nights when they were low on servers/cooks? I want this place to do well so hopefully they’ll work it out and get better.

My first time in, the food was very good. Had the pork dolsot which tasted great. They gave a full banchan and asked me if I wanted any refilled(was too full, but great customer service). The waitress was very friendly as well. I’ll be coming back!

I went here with my friend on a Sunday night. We sat on the BBQ side. You eat family style. The one page of the menu has a list of meats and seafood that you can order in BBQ style(chicken, pork, beef, shrimp). We ordered spicy pork and spicy chicken. Before the meat comes out, they bring out about seven side dishes. All of them were very tasty. Then they bring the meat out and finish cooking it on the burners built into the center of the table. All of the food was very tasty. They seemed a little short-handed when we went in, but we got good service nonetheless and the food came out very quickly

this place is a great deal for lunch. you can spend $ 10 and be satisfied. meals come with 6 side dishes(banchan) plus rice and hot tea or water. service is prompt and friendly. this place is a gem. it’s byob but there’s a liquor store next door. I’d give it 5 stars if they had organic options.

We go to a lot of Korean restaurants, so we were very excited to try this place since it was new to both B and me. The place itself is pretty spare, but often that’s no indication of the quality of food and service at Korean restaurants. Everything was very uneven from the outstanding kimchee chigae(a spicy soup) to the flavorless, rather poor excuse for sang gyup saal(pork belly, basically). The galbi(beef BBQ) was excellent, but the banchun(side dishes) left a lot to be desired. Even the service was very uneven-it started off pretty well but then as people came in our waiter completely disappeared into the ether. No one was really getting served by either member of the waitstaff and everyone was feeling pretty lonely… On top of that, the sushi bar was closed-this seems to be a not infrequent occurrence. So all in all we give them a generous three stars and we’ll go back to see if we have the opportunity to add a couple more the second time around. (Please forgive my extremely poor Korean transliteration…)

I had been here before and was less than impressed, but under the new ownership I love it. Great food! The service was outstanding. I’m by no means an expert on Korean food but everything that we ordered was delicious. The BBQ is a fun experience and the staff was great about recommendations and talking us through the menu. We’ll definitely be back for more.

I’ve been here several times and it’s always been decent. Let me preface by saying I eat Korean food everywhere as it’s probably my favorite kind of food. We came in for dinner this time and the sushi bar was closed so half of the menu wasn’t available. The worst part of our experience was that I ordered beef bi bim bop and it arrived without any discernible beef in it. I am not nitpicky and I wasn’t expecting a full steak laying on top, I understand the dish. There was ZERO beef. I brought this to the attention of the waitress and she proceeded to argue with me and said that there was it was chopped up. After sifting through it about 5 times I concluded that there was none and I just paid 18 bucks for a bowl of rice with vegetables. Not coming back and there are better Korean places out there.

Service wasn’t bad. Food was just about as average as It can get I ordered soft tofu that was basically average. There are so many better Korean places in this area esp phila. I don’t even know that I even get the tofu again. I probably suggest just getting a tofu starter kit from H Mart. Got bi bim bap that was also just super average. There’s nothing bad about this place but there just wasn’t anything that would make me come back. I’m also not a fan of restaurants that go cross country menus. Keep Korean Korean and Japanese Japanese. This is just one of those places that tried to make sushi in with Korean food and personally that’s a turn off. show me what you specialize in

When Il Mi Jung first opened, I absolutely loved everything about the restaurant. The food was delicious with a good assortment of complimentary banchan(Korean appetizers) and wonderful service. On a recent visit, service was definitely not as good. The waitress that took our order had completely forgotten what we had ordered and had to come back to confirm. There was also a certain air about the waitress that was not very welcoming. She had forgotten about the lettuce that normally comes with the barbeque until we were almost done our 2nd order of steak(we also had to ask for it). And our appetizer of seafood pancake(haemul pajun) didn’t come out until all our entrees came out. I think what I disliked most was when I asked for a box, I had placed everything I wanted to take with me on the plate to make it easier for her and she had forgotten the sauce that goes with the BBQ beef and pancakes. And she also forgot to give me the rice I had untouched and asked her to wrap. It wasn’t a super busy day so I don’t think that could have been an excuse. Might have been an off day but food and service was not as good as it used to be.

First time trying this place after searching for a decent Korean restaurant. Upon arriving, was greeted and seated immediately. Ordered double rib-eye to be grilled by the waitress in the center of our table. Waitress and waiter was very friendly and attentive to refilling the delicious side dishes upon request. Although the beef were quite on the pricey side, the unlimited side dishes made up for it. Kimchee was not very spicy but still good. The purple rice was a nice touch. The noodles were very good which was a side dish. The seafood pancake was very good. especially with the dipping sauce. Tofu side dish was delicious. No wait time at all to be seated which was definitely a plus. Food came out very quickly upon making the menu selections. Definitely was worth the trip considering it was during rush hour. Excellent service. Will not be disappointed.
