I’ll give this place one star for selection and one star for location(next to the A&P). But apart from that, they fall short in so many ways to other wine stores. For example, there are no tasting notes or store/staff picks. No ratings posted. So, you HAVE to ask someone for help, or go by the ones you know. To me, this docks a star. But perhaps the biggest issue is the complete lack of organization. There is no rhyme or reason to the way the wine is shelved. Nor are there signs. So, you can’t search by region or varietal. So annoying. This place could learn a lot from Stew Leonard in Yonkers. And yes, you heard me right. SOOO much better. On the plus side, let me dispel one rumor that seems to be spreading about this place. They have an AWESOME vodka selection. Anyone who says otherwise doesn’t know their vodka. And beyond that, if they don’t have the one you’re looking for, it shouldn’t matter, because they have the two best made vodkas on the face of the Earth– Russian Standard and Stolichnaya Gold(Black label).

The only reason I ever end up at MKW&L is because of the location, next to the A&P. They have a great selection nicely displayed, but their staff is rarely friendly and often rude.

A real dump. I asked the clerk to help me pick out a wine under $ 15, for a housewarming gift I was bringing to a friend. He showed me a bottle for 14.99, I bought it, and was on my way. The wine was TERRIBLE. I went back the next day, and asked the clerk why he suggested it to me. He replied, «Well for $ 15 what did you expect?» 1) You can get MANY excellent bottles of wine for $ 15 and under and 2) I have a reasonable expectation that if it’s being SOLD at the liquor store and the clerk recommends it, a wine will be good. If it’s not good, he shouldn’t recommend it. If he thinks it’s garbage, he should say so. $ 15 isn’t a lot of money to spend on a bottle but it’s still $ 15, and if it’s that bad, it shouldn’t be on the shelf. Prices stink too. Leonard Park wine and liquors or Green Lane up the road are better options. Poor customer service, poor prices(5−10% more than down the road) — why would I ever go back?

MKW&L is a really nice wine & spirits shop located just out of the main Village of Mount Kisco on the way to Bedford.(Hi Martha!!!) Open and spacious the shop is full of options for every budget. They had many of the bottles of red that I already had at home from my various purchases at other wine shops so I know where to go when I need to restock, if that’s the way I’m rolling. The salespeople were very nice and helpful. They even seemed amenable to trying the Indian wine I had purchased at another shop(far away). I made a recommendation to them. Whodda thunk it? ;) While I left empty handed, a rare thing indeed, The L. scored a nice bottle of brandy to keep him company during one of his cigars while I am inside stirring the risotto with my nice glass of wine from elsewhere.

NICEWINESELECTION! I love the broad selection of wines here, with plenty of goodies from all over the world. Nice price points for all wines, and I’m always up for a case discount, you? Particularly good selection of higher quality wines for an «outlet» store, and plenty of mid range wines as well. I don’t buy liquor that often, but its all there too. John is a really knowledgable guy, and he always steers me to the right wines.

One of my most favorite liquor stores in the area. Admittedly, their vodka selection is better than their other selections, but hey, their collection of brown liquors ain’t bad. They got me half way to a dark & stormy, and I can’t argue with that.
