I was so excited when I looked up to see a winery. I was really missing wine on this brewery tour trip I was on. I even talked all 4 of us into stopping in for a tasting. I regretted that real quick. I’m not sure who the blonde lady is. Owner? God, I hope not. She had a major attitude with us the second we walked in. I’m actually really shocked I didn’t say something to her. I have never in my life not bought at least a bottle from a winery. Even if it’s crap. We walked out of here not buying a thing. I wouldn’t spend my money here if it were my last choice. We tried almost every wine they offer. They are all absolute crap so you won’t be missing out on much. Skip this place!

Worth the visit Shy on reds selection, but the ones they have were smooth and nice to the tastes. Whites are their specialty and could make new fan

Stopped by the Fisher King for a wine sample. Did a five wine flight. I thought it was excellent… The glasses were clean and presented well. Kim the waitress was friendly and helpful… I purchased a meat and cheese tray for our group, kinda pricey for what it is, but it was still tasty… would be nice if the place had some outdoor seating. Nice place.

Great place to visit with some live music on the weekends. Bottles of wine are between $ 15 and $ 20 which is really good comparing to other places. Artisan cheese and sausage plates are good. Not a huge variety of wines but not a big deal. I prefer dry red wines and they have 2 or 3 to choose from. Great place and good staff!

They offer tastings for $ 5 per flight but they don’t have a wide variety to choose from and if you like sweet(not semi-sweet) wine then this is NOT the place for you. They could improve their customer service. We were there for 30 minutes and mostly ignored. When I mentioned I was not into dry wines(which is what they mostly have) I was scoffed at. They also kept trying to get us to purchase a wine neither me or my husband liked and we couldn’t wait to leave. They could also train their employees better. The lady who did handle our tastings, didn’t know one wine from the other past red vs white. We will not be back.

Cute place. Waitress was very friendly even though they were busy because they had a live band playing. They normally don’t do the wine sampling during live bands but we had bought a Groupon that expired tonight so she let us. We really appreciated it. We didn’t stay long. Only about 25 minutes but well be back.

The wine was excellent but the service was horrible. Kim and Heather were working during our visit. They never once smiled and Kim didn’t acknowledge us after we said Hi to her. We left after the wine tasting because it was so uncomfortable. We were originally planing to stay for a few bottles of wines.

Went to Mt Horeb area for a photowalk and I’ve been here 2 – 3 times now. I love that they have wine flights for $ 5. The staff are nice, friendly, and knowledgeable about the wines. If you’re vegan, there aren’t too many things on the menu to choose from. The place is pretty small, so if you’re there for an event, be prepared to stand or wait outside.

Highlights/lowlights 1) budget friendly wine tasting! Five wines for $ 5 2) open and inviting interior 3) wish there was more of a tour element or heritage story First of all, I am by no means a wine tasting connoisseur and have actually only been on one other tasting(wollersheim) but I thought this was great! You don’t get the tour and brand story element that you get with wollersheim but if you are looking to try good wine for a really inexpensive price this is the place to be! I came on a late Friday afternoon with my boyfriend and nobody was there when we first got there but people started to trickle in after. The wood floors, clean bar area and tables make the space really inviting. The bartender was really friendly and talked us through the different tasting options and also told us which order we should taste the wine in to ensure we were getting the most of our experience. Each of us decided to try 5 wines for $ 5(what a steal!). And the bartender didn’t care if we each ordered different ones and tried each other’s…so yes we tried 10 different wines for $ 10! The menu changes based on what wines are available and the day we were there there was about 6 whites, 3 reds and a dessert wine. You get a paper menu to follow along with that explains each wine and the flavor notes that make each one different. There are oyster crackers on the table(for free but not gluten free!) that you can munch on in between to clear your palette and also water available. There are snacks available for purchase(mostly chocolates, cheese and crackers etc.) as well. Overall, had a great day at Fisher King Winery! I think there is a great story to tell hear so would love even a self guided your aspect or more of a brand story piece but we will definitely be back to try some of the wines that weren’t on the menu this time!

On New Year’s eve, a buddy and I had dinner at Bistro 101 and then went across the street to the Fisher King Winery for a wine tasting. I believe we were their last customers of 2013. It was snowing outside and quite a pleasant experience, though my friend was feeling melancholy due to romantic problems… I had been to the Fisher King winery about a half dozen times before and had previously tried all their white wines and some of the reds, but I had never done an actual wine tasting there. My friend tried the whites and I test fired all the reds. The wine tasting is only $ 5. I particularly liked the«Perfection» which is a red wine made with Frontenac grapes grown locally and then fortified with brandy(like port is). The«Perfection» was outstanding!!! I bought 4 bottles at the time, and later purchased more and gave a few bottles away and took several bottles to a Super Bowl party. All my friends who have tried«Perfection» quite liked it, including several people who don’t particularly like most wines. There was also a hot spiced red wine made to a family recipe that they feature in the winter that I really liked.

Price? GOOD. Wine? GOOD. Cheese? GOOD. What more could you want?

We stopped here for a wine tasting after some shopping in Mt. Horeb. All of the wines we tasted were great! I expected it to be pricey, given that it’s a small winery, but the tasting was 5-for-5 and the bottles were on the order of $ 15 each. We left with a few bottles each. The service was very nice as well; the owner stopped by to chat for a few minutes, and you could tell he was really passionate about his craft. If I find myself in the area again, this is a must-stop!

Local Winery right on main street, it doesn’t get much better than this! Take a trip to Mount Horeb, do some shopping and then stop in to sit down and sip on a delicious glass of wine. They have only been open barely two years and have consistently won several National Awards and the business has been through the roof. Hail to the local business that brings in wine lovers to Mount Horeb. They have all of their wines to try, small cheese plates to sample so sit back and relax. Frequently have live acoustic music, cheese pairings and other fun events. Located right next to the Duluth Trading Company store and across from the Hoff Mall with Bistro 101. Absolute must for visiting Mount Horeb & perfect stop for a glass of wine with friends.
