I was in town visiting from Great Bend and was looking for something light to snack on. I was intrigued by the decorative colorful signs on the windows and thought I’d just stop in for something quick to nibble on. Much to my surprise, when I entered the restaurant the décor was just astounding– it had a visible kitchen that looked just like visiting your mom for a home cooked meal. The second thing I noticed was the case of beautifully crafted desserts– just looking at them made my mouth water. These ethereal-looking treats screamed at me, begging that I take them. I sat at the counter and Krystal, the employee working there was super friendly and ended up suggesting that I pick a Chipotle Chicken wrap, and I went with it. After watching her prepare it, which I have to add was interesting to watch, it was presented to me in a basket, and honestly looked more like a picture of food than something you would actually get at a restaurant. The taste of the wrap itself was to die for– grilled chicken, cheese, tomatoes, onions, avocado and a fantastic chipotle sauce that tied everything together with a subtle heat that really made the dish. Then she asked me if I wanted a dessert. I only wanted to have a light snack but remembered those stunning desserts on the way in– how could I say no? I ordered a slice of coffee cake, thinking I’d be pushing my luck as I’m very particular about my coffee cake. I was not let down. This was quite simply one of the finest slices of coffee cake I’ve had in my entire life. Then I got the bill. I was expecting something expensive, but I got the entire meal for under $ 10! I honestly would have been happy paying double what I did. I hope my dinner engagement isn’t too offended that I won’t be eating tonight– I’m definitely satisfied after my visit. Next time I’m in the area I will definitely be returning.
