The had one of the best classic bacon and eggs I have ever had. Honest the pancakes made me feel like a child again. The alcohol wasn’t super on point, maybe they should get ginger beer so they can make a proper mule

My salad & lobster tail was the best I have ever had. Lobster is my favorite and this is as good as it gets! I will be back.

Class place with history but no smug attitude like SF, Monterey and Santa Monica. You don’t have to wear black to be served. Excellent food, small bar, views, people… a family place in true sense of the word… friendly.

Excellent food. Fabulous service. We will be back for sure. Not sure what happened with others but I would highly recommend the place.

My son and I have been to Dorn’s twice now, once for breakfast and once for lunch. Both meals were fantastic and our service was exceptional! You also cannot beat the wonderful view of the embarcadero and Morro Rock.

Hadn’t been to Dorns in several years. And I am sad to say we won’t be going back anytime soon. Had the seafood omelette, that had no cheese, and they used canned mushrooms, and it was more mushroom then seafood. Restaurant is very nice with very nice views. But for being a nice upscale restaurant, the service was terrible. Waited long periods of time just to get coffee and water refilled. Disappointing Breakfast for the price. Have eaten at other breakfast places along the coast, including Pismo, Avila, and Cayucos. All were much better and better priced. This is one of the only times that we almost not felt like tipping cuz service was so bad. But we tipped anyway. If you are wanting a GREAT Seafood Omelette, try Avila, FatCats. The chefs here could learn what one is supposed to look and taste like.

Prime Rib as described by waitress as «excellent» was above average at best. Scampi and filet ordered by other in our family was very good. Service was good especially considering how busy they were. It’s not a cheap dinner but food, location, atmosphere, view, and service justify the price. Not our first visit and definitely not our last.

This our go to spot! Love trying different restaurants when we are in town, but we always seem to find ourselves here every visit! Food is always exceptional, and the service is spot on!

Ok, we got brought here by my parents again. 1st great service, thank you. But someone needs to be honest about the food because if we get a bill for $ 200+ and there is a room temp. prime rib with mainly gristle, bock choy with sand, and the best thing was the fried app and wine… there’s a problem. Clean your veggies and seafood. I should call Gordon Ramsey to rip your chef a new one because the inability to clean your product is a true disrespect to your clientele. That’s the second time we’ve had this happen with the food not being cleaned well. And if you can’t get local seafood or prime grade beef… don’t charge $ 25-$ 33 a plate. That’s a rip off. Lastly, have the chef go back to school to learn how to create flavor profiles. Normally I don’t have to use lemon or tartar sauce, but I was thankful for both as they assisted in creating some flavor for the bland food. We can pay for crap and get crap… that’s fast food, but when you sit down to a 4 star restaurant with white linen it should be quality, flavorful, and cleaned. No worries, we just won’t be back… my parents finally experienced the bad.

Food is eh. This place is really about the view than the menu. There are several much better restaurants on the Embarcadero.

We want to send a big thank you to Dorn’s. Last minute we needed to find a restaurant to host our company Christmas party. With only about three hours noticed they set up their semi-private back room to seat out entire staff. The service was great, the food was fabulous and they even stay open late to allow time for our gift exchange. Thank you Dorn’s! We really appreciate it.

Enjoyed two amazing breakfast meals and one lunch within a week and I cant wait to go back for dinner. I recommend Bloody Marys with any of the Eggs Benedict’s and the seafood salad.

Clam chowder is great fish and chips too. Not too expensive until you order entrees. But that is what you get for great food.

Great ambience. The food was average and the staff was great. I had the Linguisa omelette. It was a bit greasy and a bit oniony. I recommend the pancakes.

Good Place, good food, good service. Second visit to a neighborhood favorite, Clam Chowder very good, no chunks of potato to hide behind and fill the bowl. NY Steak cooked perfectly to order, tender and flavorful. Halibut delicious. Zucchini app needs to be cooked in fryer bay that doesn’t also cook seafood items Flavor transfer was quite noticeable. On premise deserts are worth a try. Thanks, see you next time.

Fully ¾ of the staff are wonderful to interact with, every single time… but, when you get the 1(out of 3) server who isn’t real hip on smiling, speaking in a friendly manner, or generally acting like he/she gives a $#**, it always takes just a smidge of the luster off of what is otherwise a great meal. Tip for locals(sorry out-of-towners, this won’t help you much), learn the names of your favorite server(s) and ask to be seated in their section when you go, ensures the 5 star experience. Thankfully the pancakes and scrambles are still just as good as always.

Came for breakfast. Got a great view in one of the booths in the dining room. Ordered 2 eggs any style with fruit and sourdough bread. Came out fast. Bread was good. Yummy coffee. Service was attentive. I would go again and recommended to someone vacationing.

Great ham and cheese omelette with a side of great view from a clean, modern five star restaurant with five star items at four star prices.

Passing through Morro Bay at 8 pm on a Friday night, my friend and I had a hard time finding a good bite to eat without an outrageous wait. We ended up here, and while we weren’t crazy about the food, a couple positive things stood out. SETTING: Set up on a hill above the beach, they probably have killer views of the ocean from their deck seating(we were there at night). Many of the outside tables have these cool fire pits in the middle that also function as a heat source. The inside seemed nice as well, but without much of personality. SERVICE: When we were initially greeted, the hostess took a call while I was placing my name on the list(20 – 25 minute wait). She then put the name of the caller on before me, which I quickly pointed out. She apologized, without mentioning a remedy. However, within 5 minutes, she said she had seating outside for us, if we were ok with that. With the fire pit, that was perfectly fine– so kudos to the hostess for working magic(and dealing with me(I can be a tough customer when I’m hungry…)). Our actual waitress was prompt, knowledgable about what ingredients went into the dishes(I’m a pescatarian, my friend was full veg). FOOD: Loaf of sourdough bread was fine. I ordered the clam chowder which was pretty good, and then the shrimp and crab salad(stuffed in a tomato). I found it a bit to mayo-ey, and didn’t finish it. My friend, quite dismayed that the corn chowder was made with chicken broth), had to settle for a spinach salad that she found way over-dressed(note to self: order dressing on the side). Overall, a fine place… not very veg-friendly though.
