Mantis Toboggan’s Smoked Meat House

I tried going back here but it seems the owner is on vacation. The property hasn’t had the snow taken care of. I would like to go back and try the bacon.

I brought my family here, very comfy seating and has a nice Upstate NY vibe. Pros: BYOB and good for friendship Cons: Only one TV

This wait is ridiculous. They provided us with dried meet to hold us over, it’s a little too peppery. I will give a full review once I try the pork. However, I might leave and go to Committed Pig to quench my BBQ craving.

This is probably my favorite yard in Morristown. It has undeniable potential to be the best leisure sport area in town, measuring over 4000 square feet. However, the owner does a pathetic job maintaining the property. The autumn leaves linger for months before a proper cleanup. There is a well aged 100 year old oak tree begging for a tire swing but its branches sway ropelessly. There is also a nice bonfire area but the owner has a city folk supply of split dried wood.
As for the food, the wait may be worth the quality. I almost went through an entire can of Copenhagen before finally being served. However, the pulled pork was some of the best I’ve ever had.
The friendship and conversations of the patrons is a big plus that more than compensates for the countless cons resulting from the below average strategic and managerial skills of the owner.
