I have been taking a painting class here for one year. There are usually 6 to 9 other students also working. Julie Friedman runs these classes and is not intrusive but so willing and helpful anytime I’m stuck. Classes are four hours each and we break at lunchtime to talk and critique each others work. This is so worth it because the other students give great feedback about what they see going on in my painting. After the critique there is usually another hour to paint. With all the feedback I usually wish there was more time. I am so glad that I take this class becuase I paint more than I did without it. People in class work in whatever medium they like such as oil, pastel or acrylic. Julie Friedman is an accomplished artist and a great teacher who gently helps each student stretch from their comfort zone. There is a great emphasis on color and composition. If you have talent, but want to improve, this is the place.
