Red Rocks Amphitheatre Pros: beautiful, good music effects, excited, wild version Cons: Noisy, inconvenient to get, crowded, only can use cash in shop Basics: On June 17th, Friday, my friends and I drove half an hour to attend live nation& age live presents GRMATLK. Red Rocks Amphitheatre on 18300 W Alameda Pkwy, Morrison. The famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre is in United States Red Rocks Park. This is the only one amphitheater which has natural scenery and natural sound effects in the world. Although it was crowded, we still had so much fun. Because this Amphitheatre was located between two huge stones, the music effects were excellent. The security guards keep patrol around this place to keep everyone’s safety. By the way, when we want to buy some drinks, the crowd made us confused. Every shop has long waiting line and you can only use cash. Moreover, although it was very big, there has no space to let audience rest in the shade. In conclusion, the sound effects, atmosphere, environment are amazing. It’s my first time to go to Red Rocks and I can’t wait to go back. There were enough parking spaces for the audience but it’s hard to find. It’s a little bit far from downtown. Therefore, I recommend people who have car and really love rock & roll or who never come here can experience.

What a marvel. You just have to see this place. It must be the best amphitheater anywhere. they have great hiking around the grounds as well. During the day it is a workout mecca for cross fitness as well.

Wow! This amphitheatre is hands down the most beautiful place to visit in gorgeous Colorado. Massive red rock formations huddle around the hundreds of steps, wooden benches and stage with skyline for a backdrop. They were setting up for movie night(Citizen Cane) and I wish we could have stayed. I wasn’t here to see a concert but we enjoyed the serenity, the views and the chance to exercise which locals take advantage of during daytime hours. There were lots of people here taking pictures and just enjoying the beauty and the nature of this incredible spot. Did you know Triceratops roamed around these parts? The visitors center down below has a display that talks about the critters that roamed around here. And not far is a dinosaur park to visit and learn more complete with fossils. Did you know the Beatles played here? I didn’t either. Inside the visitor’s center you’ll see a giant wall boasting all the performers since the beginning of time who performed here. I guarantee if you’re a child of the 80’s you will be amazed at the talent that rocked the stage. I wish those performances would come back because I would love to see these classic entertainers play in this extraordinary venue. Next time I’m buying a ticket and watching a show. Walking around is free!

Red Rocks is no doubt one of those places reserved on most peoples bucket lists, needless to say I was more than happy to cross it off mine(for the first time at least.) I should mention we didnt attend a concert but rather the Scramble Campbell art exhibit. Red Rocks is a beautiful, well maintained venue with very friendly & accomodating staff I look forward to coming back someday! Also the art exhibit was excellent as well(see pics!)

What an amazing amphitheatre built into the beautiful red rocks. I did not watch a show here but came to site see. Free parking in the dirt lot. The red rocks them self leave you in awe. Crazy what nature can create. The amphitheatre was so nice. I wish we had something like this in So Cal. Looks so fun to train and run up and down the theater. Great for training.

Stunning rock formations and amazing amphitheater! People come here not only because of the views, but also great exercise! People come and run the stairs here, and there are a lot! They also use the amphitheater to run each row. There are running groups that come here, students and people of all ages. I did notice this, Colorado has a lot of fit people. It made me feel like a blob! Seeing all these people exercising in one spot got me so motivated! I wanted to run up and down the rows, do walking lunges etc. or main reason for stopping here was because my buddy come here a lot for shows. And why not? This venue is unbelievable! I’m a little jealous that I don’t live out here to enjoy this more! Red magnificent rocks spearing out and are breathtaking. It reminds me of Meteora Greece. Definitely an awesome end to our trip to take one last quick trip before heading to the airport!

I love Red Rocks for concerts, or even just to bring people from out of town to, or for a nice day after a hike with my dog. Anyone in concert would be good to see here, even if they are not your favorite kind of music. However, my experience today at Yoga on the Rocks was very disappointing. The yoga itself was great and it was wonderful to be able to enjoy yoga early in the morning at Red Rocks. It was such a beautiful morning, with a nice breeze coming through as the sun came up over Red Rocks during the experience. It was so amazing to see everyone in the venue enjoying yoga, and not jumping up concrete walls, or jumping down the seating areas.(I honestly wonder how many of those people’s joints will be later in life) Anyway, one of the workers there was very disrespectful and really put a huge damper on my calm, peaceful, yoga mood. This was the first time I came to Yoga on the Rocks and was so incredibly disappointed and upset when I had to use the restroom and encountered a terrible Red Rocks event worker checking tickets. I had already had my ticket scanned and had put my yoga mat down, then went to use the bathroom. I have a total ankle replacement and walking up to Red Rocks with a normal ankle is not an easy feat… so imagine with an ankle replacement. I also have a handicapped permit for my car to park. I went down some of the stairs and saw the accessible sign, which was much more conveniently located. Unfortunately, the door was locked. I went down to the ticket taking people and I asked this one man if I could please go down the restroom. I let him know I tried the disability restroom, and it was locked. I mentioned, I do have a disability, and started telling him I had a total ankle replacement. He said«NOEXCUSES!» Are you kidding me? Unfortunately, I did not get his name. I did say to him that he must be in a terrible mood, and he said, «Well, yes I am!» What a terrible person to have working the event Yoga on the Rocks, when he doesn’t even want to be there! Not what anyone’s experience, especially with something as peaceful as yoga, should have to experience. I will be selling the rest of my tickets to Yoga on the Rocks, because of this terrible experience.

I wasn’t here for a concert but visited just for fun. The week before I was in Denver, it was 70 degrees. I arrive and there’s a freakin’ snow storm! Just my luck! But I decided to go up there anyways to check it out even in my Fiat rental. Next time I’m in Denver, I hope to see a concert and walk more of the trails. I did walk up to the amphitheatre but there are way more trails to explore. There are lots of places to explore and walk around on trials, and they all seem to connect together. So don’t just park in the first lot of give up, you’ve got to explore and look around. To get up to the Amphitheatre is a little steep and there was some snow and ice. I didn’t bring a lot of hiking gear, so I had some trouble getting up there. Some places have stairs, some have steep ramps, but it’s worth the climb. The inside where the stage and seating is beautiful. I can only imagine seeing my favorite musician on that stage. I also like that you can go up on the stage and take pictures. Once I was down, I went down a set of stairs and out a different way not realizing that it didn’t all connect back together. I started getting worried because I’m by myself. I ended up near an office and mini museum. I used the bathroom to dry off my coat sleeves and the bottom of my pants, then I went in to ask how to get back to the parking lot. The people inside weren’t all that friendly. They were greeting a nice family with children who didn’t seem interested in talking to them while I stood there looking anxiously in need of guidance. They kind of acted like I was in an idiot and a stupid tourist. Maybe I am a tourist, but I wouldn’t treat people like that in Chicago. So a nice gently reminder that a single adult is worth their time. Once I finally did ask where to go, the two employees pointed randomly and said go that way. They didn’t point at the map and tell me that the trail connects to this road… they just pointed and said«go that way.» So basically I took the map and figured it out on my own. It would have been nice if they had acted a little more enthusiastic about helping me find my way back to the car. But I’d still come back here because it’s beautiful… words can’t describe how much so… I just won’t expect help finding my way if I get lost.

Can any music venue possibly top this place? You’d be hard-pressed to find one. Don’t just come here in the day time to exercise, GOTO A CONCERT, regardless of who is playing. It is truly one of the most incredible sites and sounds you will witness. Everything here is formed from nature except for the stage and benches. It was amazing to see all the nature that surrounded Red Rocks while the sun was up, then giving way to a stunning view of the Denver city lights in the backdrop as night fell. There was a full house here on a Monday night when I went. The energy in this place was astounding. The vibe was pure electricity. Everyone was so into the music AND the moment. It made this whole concert experience unforgettable. I don’t know what else I can say but I was definitely in a weird state of nirvana when I was here. There was not a worry in the world for me at that moment, just pure bliss. And I know it had nothing to do with the smell of «herbs» that was very prevalent throughout the night lol. But seriously, I will always remember Red Rocks Amphitheater as one of the best moments so far in my traveling life. It should be the eighth wonder of the world.

Frankly, I don’t know what has already been written/said about this place that I can add to. Think of all the superlatives you know(awe-inspiring. stupendous, etc etc) and just insert them here. I loved that not only is this an amazing natural concert space with incredible sound, but how on a Sunday morning, the local use it for exercising en plein air. I did make the whole climb of the stairs on a super slow and steady place that was an amazing cardio workout that had my heart rate going. And then, it was only when we got to the top that we realized there was a parking level there too!!! Ah well. Exercise is good for the soul,(sole?) There was a history museum, but I didn’t want to check it out. So all I did was sit on the sun-warmed benches and admire the scenery(both natural and some ah-em of the male gender). All in all, this was a lovely and very memorable Sunday morning excursion and I _absolutely_recommend visiting when in Denver. Next time I’m going to try and visit here when a concert is playing! 5÷13÷2016− I wish I was writing this to review a concert here but nonetheless this venue by itself is phenomenal! Driving to the Red Rocks Amphitheater you are in awed with mother nature. Mountains everywhere, stunning views at every turn. I’m originally from Orlando and this would be considered a main attraction that you would have to pay for, so when there is no one at the gate collecting money, I’m in disbelief but so glad. The energy at the park is contagious with fitness people from all walks of life. Running, jumping, climbing, hopping, doing pushups, squats… you name it. We took pictures and went up and down the stairs… super winded at times but so worth it. I suggest you go to the visitor center /museum and read up on the history of this magical place. There is also a gift shop, very clean facilities and a restaurant overlooking the beautiful scenery. On our way out, we saw the cutest deer on the mountain. Outdoors at its best!

You can’t top what nature can create! Perfect venue for concerts and movies. The rocks form a perfect amphitheater naturally and the acoustics here is phenomenal. I’ve been here for concerts but I just attended my first film on the rocks. So amazing. Came here for the Purple Rain film on the rocks tribute concert/movie. Man, it was a great night. I really love, love, love this venue… It’s the perfect venue… It truly is, rumor has it the Beatles performed here… crazy. It is a bucket list item for anyone, even the Beatles. I remember reading about it long before I moved here in Rollingstone magazine. It might seem familiar to people who haven’t been here, because its been the backdrop of a U2 music video AND most recently, for a Mumford and Sons video, also. It is a magical place. I’ve had such special times here. I’m so happy that I get opportunities all the time for concerts here, definite benefit of living in Colorado. It gets cold and windy in the spring/fall and even summer(at night), so if you find yourself here on such an occasion, here are some tips: bring something comfy your on, blankets or towels are a must… Or those comfy stadium seats… the seats are just wooden benches so your butt is gonna hurt… Get some padding, trust me. You can bring water — definitely do that. For film on the rocks you are allowed to bring snacks(that are packed into see through ziplock bags)… So do that, food and beverages are stupidly expensive here, so pack accordingly, if permissible. I paid $ 14 for a fruity alcoholic bevvy and $ 12 for a tiny glass of wine and my friend bought a 15 beer. that is just dumb. Lots of ppl tailgate before concerts, so if you could do that and save some coin, because that is a lot of coin to be spending, it’s also is a great way to hang with your buds before you get into the event. The upper parking lot is the way to go, it will save you from hoofin’ it up a crazy amount of steps, unless you are into that sort of thing…(PS they have fitness on the rocks in July if you really are into that sort of thing) Be sure to check their website for what they allow you to bring inside… Im pretty sure that changes from event to event. It’s gotten pricey to watch a concert here… but still so worth it!

Just — wow! I’ve heard of Red Rocks from a few live concert cds and dvds, but nothing is the same as seeing it in person. I was surprised how close it is to the highway, and you can either drive or walk up to the top. When we walked in through the top entrance, our mouths just dropped open. The rocks are amazing and the views of the surrounding areas and Denver are unreal. We didn’t have a chance to see a concert, but it’s now definitely on my bucket list!

I mean you truly can not go wrong visiting Red Rocks. We happened to get a beautiful 80 degree sunny day. We drove up to Red Rocks to check out the Amphitheatre… unfortunately due to a scheduled concert it was closed off. So highly suggest checking out the concert roster to see if there is something going on. You literally can not see any of the theatre. We were able to see the huge red rocks, check out the stunning views, and go inside and look at the museum which is amazing. It blows me away to think of all the legendary musicians that have played this venue. If you are traveling to Denver make time in your schedule to check out the Red Rocks Amphitheater. Grab lunch at the bottom in Morrison afterwards.

Red has never been my favourite colour. It just doesn’t look any good on me, I’m more of a pastels kinda guy. I know, I know, go to Florida, right? But this is a red I could get into. Stunning blah blah, picturesque blah blah. All of it’s true, everything in the other reviews. Go on a weekend during the day and there’ll be all sorts of gym junkies and physical fitness specimens slogging up the stairs and doing push ups and dashes and other equally crazy things because they’re not hungover like I am. Fools!

The trails here are awesome. Perfect for walking the dog, with surreal landscape all around you. I think the trails are often overlooked compared to the amphitheater, but they’re worth a stomparound, for sure! The venue itself is one of those things you have to experience for a concert(and hopefully a show that you dig) at least once in your life. I’ve been to a few shows here where the wind was blowing so hard, you actually couldn’t hear any music. At all. Not even bass. They give up placing speakers past the first third of the seats, so if you’re in the back, yer SOL, and you still paid a lot for a ticket. For my money, check out the Film on the Rocks series. More bang for your buck, and if the sound is terrible that night, at least you didn’t spend $ 80 on your ticket. Yes, I’d rather see my favorite acts in more of an Ogden or Bluebird sized setting, but it’s still fun here – just be ready for almost nightly summertime thunderstorms.

IWow. This place is FULL of energy. Its like walking into a bee hive. There are people running up and down and left and right, doing squats and lunges and pushups. And from all walks of life too — on our way up, we passed by gradeschool brothers chasing after each other, weaved through a giant pack of senior women on their morning stroll, and awwed at the cute puppy that a shirtless dude was showcasing in between his workouts. And that energy is so positively contagious. It makes you want to run and jump and sing and shout, and I can only imagine how much crazier it can be during outdoor concerts and live shows. We visited the music hall of fame stores afterwards, seeing the art on how the creation and ship rocks are portrayed as rock spirits, watching over the amazing talent that has performed here in the past. so much depth. Inspired, to say the least.

Beautiful place to see a concert. Seriously stunning. That is if you have a seat. If you get general admission like we did, and decide to not come early to camp out and guard your spot then you will probably end up seatless. This was irritating. You may as well just pay up for the closer sections to get a seat. The venue just seemed over-sold for the concert we attended. People were camped out on the sides, in the dirt, in small tree branches. If you aren’t fed up with having no seat, just wait until you have to leave. Parking is a disaster. Prepare for a long walk, and possibly being run off the road by other drivers.

I came here just to check out the gorgeous-ness and also to get in a stair workout. I definitely got both! It is really very pretty, and even though this place is called REDROCKS Amphitheater, somehow I was still caught off guard at how red the rocks were! You can definitely get a great workout here. There are quite a few people always out running along the steps, jumping the steps, etc. They look pretty intense. And then there’s me, who is used to living and exercising at 0 feet above sea level, and who requires resting every few steps. True story. There are also a few trails, although this park isn’t necessarily known for its trails. It was also pretty ice and muddy when I was there(mid-January). I would love to come back here for a concert! It looks like an amazing way to spend the a warm summer evening.

Hands down, I think this may be in the top ten of all music venues in The USA. It’s almost a spiritual experience enjoying a concert here surrounded by the majestic outdoors. It blows me away every time how this perfect place with absolute ideal situations for hella good acoustics is just naturally occurring there, as a gift to al man kind.(Obviously with a crap load of money for stairs and stage technicalities) ;) I love that Red Rocks does more than just concerts too, it’s a great place to work out… They host movie nights to watch all time favorites in that gorgeous environment. And I love love love Yoga on the Rocks events. I can’t say enough good things about Red Rocks. Before I die, I swear my band will have the opportunity to rock this place. Then, my life will be complete.

The drive here is breath-taking. I’m a city girl and i’m not used to seeing nature like this. It’s a great place to see a concert here, but I came for sight-seeing. The rock formation here is stunning. If i lived in Denver, i would come here to run the steps here every weekend. It’s a great place to work out. I saw a lot of teams come here to work out. There’s also a small museum here to shows you all the different performers that came and performed here. I took a good time exploring this place and only wished the summer sun didn’t come crashing down on me! A must visit place to all those visiting Denver for the first time!

I mean, does Red Rocks really need a review? It’s stunning, day or night. The view is incredible and they host a lot of fun events(Film on the Rocks during the summer is amazing). But you have to remember where you are… Get there early, tailgate a little(we bring dinner and drinks to eat by the car) and bring snacks in. There are a million stairs so dress for that… and you are sitting outside on hard benches so bring a butt cushion and blanket or jacket. Also, remember to look at the times of the events… bands have opening acts and Film on the Rocks has an opening band and fun old school cartoon before the film. They can’t show the movie until it’s dark out so if that helps you time it, great!

Hiked along the trading post trail which was absolutely perfect because my bf and I just wanted to do a short and leisurely hike. After we completed the entire ~1 mile, we went up to the amphitheater. You have to climb a million steps before you get to the top but it’s so worth it because it’s such a beautiful view. I think this is an awesome venue for a concert. Would love to see one of my favorite performers here one day.

Some how I have been in the complete dark about this park but my cousin insisted that we go to a concert while I was visiting Colorado. It was really last minute decision but we were able to grab some affordable tickets to the Tim McGraw concert. We got there a little late but still had some time to tailgate. The weather and scenery was amazing. Since we got there kind of late the walk to the amphitheatre was more like a hike. Plus it got dark really quickly and we forgot our flashlight but the good thing is that there was a shuttle taking people to the top. I would suggest anyone to come here for a concert or just to visit. It’s literally a natural amphitheatre with the rocks in suck a way that the music sounds awesome! Plus being outside in the mountains listening to a concert with a cold drink, I mean who wouldn’t want that. Forewarning, if you have alot of drinks while at the concert you have to do some hiking either up the stairs or all the way down the stairs to get to the closets bathroom! Be careful, it’s steep. If you aren’t able to make a concert, a lot of the locals go workout there in the morning. Let me tell ya just the hike to get there is a workout especially if you aren’t use to the altitude. It would make for a great area to walk or run some stairs plus the view is amazing. For your next visit to Colorado, definitly put Red Rocks Amphiteatre on your list!

A really nice place to come to while visiting or living here in my opinion. We came on our second to last day of our vacation to Colorado. We walked around and did the hike up to the theater. It’s about 2 miles and about level 4 experience needed to hike. It’s so beautiful here as a lot of places are in Colorado. We went just to walk around and there was no event that day. It’s cool how they just have it open for people to see. A lot of people work out here dying the day which was cool to see too. Would love to go to an event here.

Prior to attending the Bassnectar Tour this summer, I had the pleasure of visiting Red Rocks for other touristy reasons. None of the prior visits required security measures, however. For the type of event Bassnectar is, I completely understood the«additional security measures» they warned patrons about on the tickets and website. Yet, my husband and I were in for a rude awakening with(lacking) protocol upon arrival. Let’s back up… when we purchased our tickets, we looked online for entry rules because it was explicitly written on the tickets that«additional security measures» would be taken for the event. Even after looking online, I called TWICE to ensure I was on the same page as security.(I mean who wants to drive 45 minutes to Red Rocks in traffic to be denied entry??) So, I made sure I had factory-sealed lipstick & water bottles, I rid my purse of access trash & anything that could appear sketchy, and made sure my GoPro & Selfie Stick were left at home. For what? The woman who checked my bag literally peaked inside and let me in! You’re talking THOUSANDS of people in one venue and she didn’t even take the time(while being paid an hourly wage) to actually dig around my purse? People from all over the country, all ages in attendance, all demographics to consider, and that was the«additional security measures» we were warned of? Not to mention the number of patrons under 21 who couldn’t drink so instead they were all bombed on drugs. Unless Red Rocks condones selling drugs onsite, such people had to bring them in somehow! I could have brought my Camelbak water bottle, instead I bought new! Same with my chapstick! I could have left work a bit later had I know I didn’t need to go home to clean out my purse! I could have easily snuck in my GoPro, etc! What a joke! And then there were the Bartenders that Red Rocks hired. Are you serious? Who handles event management for Red Rocks? For the handful of 21+ Guests at this concert, that’s the best you could do? The one bartender didn’t even fill the jigger to the top when making a Margarita! I essentially drank Sour Mix. I walked to three different bars and all had terrible service with high stickers too. Quite disappointing. Lastly, the bathroom situation. When your venue can accommodate 15k guests, why on Earth would you only have one bathroom open? One girl — clearly more honest than me — said she had been waiting 37 minutes to change her tampon. Wow. Once I heard that, I ran to the front of the line with her and acted like I was bleeding bullets so we could cut the line. People obviously let us through.(Sorry for the overshare, but Red Rocks should consider female issues, diabetic emergencies, etc. when only having ONE bathroom open for that number of guests). Bassnectar put on one hell of a show and I got AWESOME pictures(I uploaded a few), but I doubt we will see another concert at Red Rocks until its security, hospitality and logistics improve.

Came by the Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater with my husband last Friday(9−18−15). We were fortunate to find parking right at the visitor center and walked on inside to use the restroom and check out what the center has. Inside you will find a gift shop and a small little museum. Here you will see all of the names of the bands that have performed which is pretty impressive, as the amphitheater has housed a whole lot of big names. I have to say that this place reminds me of Griffith Park and the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. But I would have to say that the Red Rocks Amphitheater has a much better background view(you can see some trees and part of the mountain at the Greek, but it is nothing compared to this). Just like the Griffith Park, there are plenty of hiking trails around the theater, which was the main reason my husband and I drove out to Morrison from Denver. We did a light trail, which was about a 5 – 6 mile loop hike. It was nice but wished it was a bit more shaded. Be sure to bring plenty of water, a hat to shade your face and good hiking shoes(the trails are also dog friendly). But anyway, back to the amphitheater, when we came in the morning, we saw staff setting up for a concert(Railroad Earth). They even did sound checks so we could hear how the noise can truly amplify throughout the park. There were plenty of people exercising on the steps, which again was cool that they were able to do that while the crew was setting up. Which is pretty unique because most concert venues do not allow the public to be around while they are getting things ready. I think the only negative of this concert venue is the seating. Seating is just on concrete steps and no backing to rest your back on. So be sure to bring a seat pad if you do come. Also may want to bring a blanket to keep yourself warm(I can imagine it being pretty cold here at night). Maybe some day I will be able to see a concert here(when there is a band I like and know plays here) on my next vacation to Denver.

114.2% stunning and awe-insipring! On my recent trip to the Denver area, many awesome things were seen, done, and eaten, but Red Rocks was far and away the awesomest. .and there wasn’t even a show taking place.(Despite being a bucketlist-worthy concert venue, it’s also a park accessible at no charge to the public when a concert’s not taking place. .surprise!)(And despite the fact that there was a Mad Decent Block Party show going down in the evening of the day we visited Red Rocks — soon enough that they were charging for show parking by the time we headed back to our car — not once did we feel hassled or rushed by the staff to leave. .thanks, guys! !) The climb to the top will make you remember thigh muscles that you didn’t even realize you had, and recognize, even if you hadn’t before, that the air truly is thinner at that altitude, but the view from the top is so, soooooo worth it. .breath-takingly beautiful! Can’t wait to pick the perfect show for the setting, and actually see a band at Red Rocks!

PARK/HIKING REVIEW Unfortunately, I did a shotgun vacation to Denver and the tickets to all the shows at Red Rocks were sold. I will definitely have to come back here for a concert. However, I did go hiking here. There is a nice short 1.5 mile trail that goes around the perimeter the beautiful rock formations. Pictures just don’t do this place any justice. It’s just absolutely gorgeous here and the walk was really nice. We also did another short hike up a bunch of stairs. This is great for the family to come to. It’s just absolutely gorgeous!

Hands down the best outdoor music venue in the country! I came here for my first concert this summer and had such a lovely evening! You get to see the spectacular sunset while enjoying the music. And the night comes alive after dark! The sound system is top notch and the natural surroundings only enhance the sound effects. The vibe is very relaxed and family friendly. You can even bring your own food and set up a picnic before and during the concert. Of course there’re drink and food stands if you choose to purchase them. Red Rocks is also a perfect place if you’re a fitness fanatic like me! There’s yoga on the rocks and cross fit in the summer. You can always challenge yourself with a creative workout routine inspired by many pros who come here! Movie on rocks is another great event in the summer and it’s good for the whole family. This Colorado landmark is simply a must see if you live here or just a visitor! You haven’t seen a real concert until you see one at Red Rocks!

Wow. All I have to say is wow. This place is awesome. I never want to see a concert anywhere else. I might have another opinion though if the weather wasn’t good. Sound quality was amazing. It’s been said before, but be prepared to hike. We got there around the start of the concert and had to park on the road near the 93 and walk in. I walked past a woman wearing what appeared to be very uncomfortable heels. She looked miserable. That being said, there were cabs and Über drivers there offering rides for money. There wasn’t anyone checking tickets for reserved seating when we were there. Lots of GA people ended up in reserved seating, either by mistake or because GA was full. There was a lot of shuffling around before the concert because of that. Bring cash. I didn’t see any vendors accepting credit cards.

The Red Rocks Amphitheatre is the stuff of concert legends. I mean, the Beatles played here for crissakes. Located about a 25 minuted drive away from Denver, visiting Red Rocks was well worth the trip. The amphitheatre is situated on top of a mountain giving visitors an awesome view of the city and beyond. Heck, the drive up that mountain alone was pretty scenic. Parking was plentiful and we snagged a VIP parking spot in the paved parking lot right at the entrance to the amphitheatre. At 9AM on a Sunday, it was pretty busy. Most people were working out on the stairs of the amphitheatre. Others you could see off in the distance hiking. After taking a moment to people watch and enjoy the view, we headed to the Visitors Center to learn a little about the history of Red Rocks. Most of the focus is on all the live music events that have been held here. Did I mention the fact that all of this is FREE? Access to Red Rocks, parking, and the Visitors Center. All free. Yup. You’d be a special kind of crazy if you were in Denver and didn’t make the trip out to Red Rocks. Prepare to be amazed. Unilocal100CHALLENGE2015: #211

This is by far, the most beautiful venue I’ve ever been to in all of the grand old USA. There’s not much better in life than listening to your favorite artist, in beautiful Colorado overlooking the mountains and rocks. The sound system is great — I’ve only been to one show so far, Bassnectar for 3 days. If the sound system could handle his bass, I have faith that other shows should sound acoustically sound as well at this venue. Price wise, their domestic beers are $ 8.25 versus $ 8.50 for crafts. The crafts are 12 ounces, the domestic are larger. either 16 or 20 I’m not sure. You’re allowed pre-game /tailgate the concerts in the parking lot — and parking is free! I found everything well organized — friendly parking staff, security and all around great experience. highly recommended!
