This Cheddars in Morgantown WV is one of the filthiest bar restaurants around. Example: we watched the bartender drop the cork from a wine bottle(on to the bar floor), pick it up and jam it back into the bottle. Just one of the many things that really grossed us out.

A good place to eat, reasonable prices and good amount of food depending on what you get. Great service and very friendly. It’s pretty full on weekends and nights.

Traditional American food done right! The service is nothing special and the food is your basic American chain restaurant with burgers and soups and such. The food is quite good and they have certain things you cannot find at most American traditional restaurants such as Shepards pie. They decorate the place very nice for lots of holidays and the inside has great décor. One thing I can say too is that everytime I pass cheddars, the place is always packed!

No points! I never send food back but I did here! Even changed and paid for the meal that was absolutely the worst food that has been put in front of me! Waiter was very good! He felt my pain. Don’t know who they have cooking food in that kitchen but they need to be fired! Floor was sticky at my booth, the only good thing. Mohamed the waiter, he was great. DONOTWASTEYOURMONEYHERE! The service is horrific. I brought my kids(7&4) in for dinner early(445pm), before the rush so we could get in and out quickly and unobtrusively. We got our app pretty quickly and put our dinner order in by 455. But No Food Ever Came. Alyssa never checked on us, never checked the kitchen. The manager comped our meal because by the time he reordered the food it was 550pm. Ridiculous!!! The food was fair… typical ‘merican fried fare.

Was in town for a convention and upon a request and recommendation from a friend– decided to give it a try. Was greeted and waited about 15 minutes to be seated on a Saturday night which wasn’t too bad. Ordered loaded nachos as an app and a steak for myself. ATMOSPHERE: Kind of an up-scale Ruby Tuesday is what I would liken this place too. Black paint, light tile, booths and tables with cloth napkins and shiny utensils. I appreciate it– wasn’t too load or crowded. Place was clean and well-kept. FOOD: The nachos were good– but an odd way of presenting nachos, as each nacho was addressed with chicken and cheese; placed around the rim of the plate surrounding dipping sauces.(5⁄5) The steak I ordered with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The steak was on top of fried onion straws– which at first I wasn’t aware of(and I’m not a big onion guy) but it was a GREAT addition! THEPORTIONSWEREAWESOME compared to a Ruby Tuesday, and the food was done right.(5⁄5) SERVICE: This was the only area where there was a hiccup. Our server was friendly but man if I could get a refill, it would’ve been huge. Each time he would stop his attention was elsewhere– literally turning his head and looking at something in the distance, like dude was a wanted man. Man that refill. Would’ve been huge. WILLBEBACK– RECOMMENDTRYINGIT.

Went for lunch with my husband and 2 girls. They got the junior burger with apple yogurt and they loved it!!! Ate everything on their plates!!! I got the grilled salmon with steamed broccoli and green beans, the salmon came on top of a bed of rice… It was AWESOME!!! The only complaint was the restaurant was freezing cold and no bread to start. I am just used to having the restaurants give bread to tide you over until the meal comes lol

I was just at this Cheddar’s location yesterday and I’m definitely not coming back. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich, and I’ll be honest, I must have missed the words«deep fried» in the description. But when it arrived everything looked delicious, until I took a bite. The sandwich was drenched in grease. Dripping. Oozing. I swear to you it was like I ordered some grease with a side of sandwich. To make things worse, the inside was still gooey, as if the batter wasn’t fully cooked. So it was a greasy, doughy, mess of mayonnaise, turkey, and ham with what looked like Kraft singles american cheese product. It was sickeningly greasy. The side of french fries, were okay. Definitely not as greasy as the sandwich. They weren’t seasoned at all, which is unusual, but not exactly a deal-breaker. Overall, I was disappointed with my meal and I would not recommend ordering the Monte Cristo sandwich.

Pretty great place to grab some food and drinks. I was there with some coworkers and it made for a great meeting place. The food was very good and the drinks will catch your eye! It’s not very expensive either if you ask me. Compared to some of the other places I have eat around Morgantown WV. I recommend this place to anyone who wants great food and a good casual place to have nice conversation. Oh and before I forget the staff was also amazing. Our waiter was one that you alway wish you get when you go to restaurants.

Nice restaurant with cool décor. Service was sketchy though. I ordered the southwest salad with no dressing and no cheese and he brought me cheese with no dressing and no corn. If you’re unsure, just ask. Coworker ordered the surf and turf and it was pretty good. Food is good here, service is not.

It’s nothing special, but it’s also not horrible either… Just not my cup of tea. It’s all american food which is bland enough for the general populace but not savory enough to capture my attention.

Came here for dinner with a group of 26 people. We were attending a professional conference and decided to do at least one group dinner together. Environment: I liked the light and fun atmosphere of the place and they had music playing when we walked in. They managed to fit our group of people in an area that looked sectioned off but we had to split into groups at different tables. Food: I would call it mediocre at best. Food was practically tasteless on my plate and I had steak! It also was not cooked well. I asked for a medium-rare I got well done. I finished my food because I was starving and the portion was good and filling especially for the price. None of the people at my table finished their food(bc of taste not portion) and one girl refused to eat after 2 bites. I don’t think it was as terrible as their reaction but I was very disappointed. My friend was disappointed at the Shepard pie because… well it didn’t look like a Shepard pie. It didn’t even have the pie crust! I ran into the same problem when I ordered an apple pie for dessert… it was a plate with ice cream and cooked apples on it and a very very very little amount of what I think was pie crust. Service: I was glad the server remembered to take my dessert order after the meal. I thought she’d forget cuz she wouldn’t take the order with my regular order. However there was a few mix ups with some peoples dinner and my dessert initially went to the wrong table. Overall: 2 stars Great price, not so great food, flat service

It’s with mixed emotions we award this Cheddar’s a 3-star rating. On a positive note, it’s likely the best chain in the area. The food is much better than Chilis, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and the other chains in this area and it’s the most affordable, bringing a tremendous amount of value. Where else can you order a chicken dish that brings two sides and two pieces of decent chicken for less than $ 10? Meanwhile, the few times I’ve been here over the years, the service has been suspect. Last week, they sat us at a table than hadn’t been wiped down(there was sticky, slimy stuff on it and simply getting a refill was a chore. In fact, we ordered our meal and 20 minutes later the waitress came back to ask us if it was ok that the chicken pot pie was going to take 20 minutes or if we wanted to order something else. And, she meant 20 more minutes, but had forgot to come back and ask us. We switched to a burger, which she said would be ready in five minutes. You guessed it, 20 minutes later we asked another server to check on our food. Meanwhile, the food at Cheddar’s isn’t bad. In fact, for a fast food chain, it’s pretty good. The chicken dishes, the salads and the Cajun catfish are solid and more than affordable. I keep reverting to value. That’s the best aspect in this casual chain. The trick is getting a good server. Good luck on that.

Where’s the sauce Checked out Cheddar’s before a rowdy football game in West V. I liked the look of the place, very farm and comfy even in the bar area where I sat. I was straight to the point and wanted a burger with bbq and bacon on it. Like most places, they had what I desired so I ordered up. Food service seemed slow but it was pretty crowded. The burger was tasty and had flavor to it. The only problem was each bite was dry. I realized I was missing bbq sauce on it. Maybe that would have made the burger outstanding, but as such it was just ordinary. May give them a chance at redemption in the future though.

I don’t know what happened to this location, but the last few visits have been terrible. The portions have gotten smaller, our food came out cold, and it is insanely overpriced. The saving grace was our waitress who was incredibly kind and attentive, especially regarding my food allergies. We paid 60 bucks(including tip) for a vegetable plate, chicken tender platter, and 3 drinks. Nowhere near worth it! I’d rather go to the grocery store and pick up some nice steaks for that price. Avoid!

Really? A 40 minute wait for a table when there are at least 25 empty tables in the restaurant.(It is 5:00 on a Sunday by the way.) I overheard the hostess tell one of the servers to just tell people that are complaining that it is shift change«or something». Looks like very poor management to me.

Price was good and service was as well. A bit of a wait to get in and lots of open tables tells me that they need some more staff. I had the ribs, and they were quite good. Cookie for dessert, and it was yummy too

«…Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.» — «Ozymandias,» Percy Bysshe Shelley This Cheddar’s has given up the ghost. Like the ruins of some monument, it manages to still stand above some wreckage, but its uprightness is a miracle in its own right. While I can only speak to this location’s quality, I get the feeling that Cheddar’s in general are simply no place to be. Let me tell you why… Despite being seated in an empty bar area at 8:30pm on a Saturday night, the wait for our food was over an hour. We had a hard time tracking down our waitress, and when I asked if we could change the channel, they simply said they didn’t know if they got the channel I requested(Fox, by the way). When I asked what beers they had on tap, I was told they had ONLY2BEERS on tap: Budweiser and Coors Light. But that’s all just inconvenience — the kind of inconvenience you’d put up with if the food was worth it. Let me spare you the suspense — the food is not good. My dad ordered a cheeseburger, which they ONLY serve Medium Well. My dad asked if they could maybe cook it Medium, and we were told it really wasn’t possible. What?! He ordered it anyway, asking only that they leave off the mustard. When the burger came, it was dripping with mustard. When he asked for the mayo that he ordered with the burger, we waited 15 minutes for our waitress to bring it. Although we didn’t ask to speak to a manager, our waitress still sent one over. The manager was kind, apologized, removed the burger from our bill. Apparently, that the burger was served with mustard was the reason for the removal, not the fact that they literally refuse to cook anything other than medium well. Spare yourself. Listen to the other reviewers around here. If you’re looking for a burger, try Atomic Grill south of Morgantown, Tailpipes downtown, or Five Guys at the Suncrest Towne Center. If you’re looking for good food of any kind, look elsewhere. However, if you’re looking for subpar fare and 2-hour waits, Cheddar’s is your place.

It just wasn’t good. The menu itself was typical American fare, fried and smothered in some sort of cheese, sauce or gravy. We ordered the chicken fried steak, and it took forever to come out, then they were out of gravy, then they had it, and the food was some lukewarm rubbery concoction by the time it was straightened out. Service was spotty and would disappear when she was needed. Give it a pass.

It’s a chain, located in an area where you have about 10+ other chain restaurants, but being from out of town, this was the only one that I haven’t been to before. I couldn’t believe how good the prices were. It’s mainly comfort food and nothing that extraordinary(again, a chain), but plenty of options for everyone to find something they like.
