Went to see Dr. Crowe yesterday. I haven’t been to the eye doctor in about two years. I usually don’t like going because of all the drops and poking of your eye. Well what a relief when I didn’t have to get my eyes dilated and the doctor said my vision is a bit better then it was. Got seen and a new pair of glasses in under 1 hour! Dr. Crowe and his staff are great. I had heard he was the best eye doctor in MH and it’s true!!!

Very disappointed in experience at this office. Everyone was nice, but I was talked into getting $ 400 glasses, when my $ 10 reading glasses work just as well for my purposes — mainly brief stints at the computer, needlework and reading. I was told these would make a big difference and that I had«great insurance». Interestingly, when I asked for frames covered by my insurance, there weren’t any. I only need glasses for close work and have easily used reading glasses without any problems. This was my first and only time at this office and will not be back. My husband wears glasses full time, and has done so for many years; he refused to get his glasses here, as they are more expensive than anywhere else he has gone. They do not routinely give you your prescription; you have to ask for it. He got his after his exam, but I forgot and had to call for it; I have still not received it. A very disappointing, and very expensive, experience and neither of us will ever return here.

I had only one visit with him. He was pleasant and kind… I thought it was odd that he wanted to take my contacts off for me and place them in my eyes for me as well. I didn’t let him, but that was a weird moment. The office staff are knowledgable and pleasant enough… but I find that they can be a little snooty. The lady who helps with insurance stuff did help me with finding the right frame for me and when the ‘sunglasses’ that i ordered for my frames broke they helped to have them replaced. Again, they are pleasant and answer your questions, but not overly very friendly or welcoming. I never walk away feeling good, but more like I’ve bothered them. I haven’t returned, mostly because of that feeling that I get from the office staff. I have received hand written letters in the mail from the doctor to have another eye exam, which is an nice old fashion touch. He is an older doctor… I remember him looking a little like Santa Claus(but it was so long ago, i could be wrong!). I’m looking for another optometrist… but if I don’t find anyone, I’ll probably go back. It wasn’t that bad or great an experience, just ok.

I was in need of glasses but wasn’t sure where to go. A family member referred me to Dr. Crowe. I called to schedule an appointment and was shocked at how informative the gal was and that I could be seen on Monday evening. Candee even offered to check my insurance to see if my appointment and eye glasses were covered. I was a bit nervous on my way to the appointment due to the fact that I hadn’t had an eye exam since I was a child. But my nerves were instantly calmed by the warm greeting I received by Dr. Crowe’s front office staff. Dr. Crowe’s assistant explained what would take place during my examination and when I met Dr. Crowe I was treated with respect and kindness. Dr. Crowe took the time to listen and answer all my questions. This wasn’t something I was use to. Having Kaiser for years I was use to «your 15 minutes are up» sort of treatment. When it was time to pick out my glasses I actually had fun. Almost like trying on shoes. The gal who helped me(Ali) gave an honest answer when I asked«how do these look on me»? I settled on a pair of glasses that have gotten me more complements then I ever thought possible. I’ve actually had people stop me on the street and ask me where I got my glasses. I respond Dr. Crowe’s office! And the fact that I can now see so much better is an added BONUS! So if your looking for the old fashioned personal patient experience with a modern selection of glasses go see Dr. Crowe, Ali, and Candee! Tracy Morgan Hill, CA.

I’ve been going to Dr. Crowe(optometrist) since I was 16 and went to get my drivers license. I nearly failed the vision test! Anyway, 23 years later, he’s still providing quality care and always has nice office staff. It’s a quiet little office right on the main street of Morgan Hill. I only go once a year, so not a big deal to drive here. He’s calm, and nice, and reassuring(I needed that as my eyes got worse and worse through the years). And he impressively remembers details about your personal life(I suspect he jots down notes) and brings them up at the yearly visit. Seems to always have the latest equipment in his office. I have nothing but praise for him.
