We were craving Chinese after getting home late from a thanksgiving trip. I decided to pick a place we haven’t tried but based on the good reviews. So i placed a phone order, and 15 minutes later, walked into the biggest dingiest dump to pick up my order. My first instinct was to turn around and walk out, then I thought that maybe the food was really good because there were enough good reviews to support that idea. I proceeded to pay cash while watching a worn out woman help me with her baby running around the kitchen. Well it was as bad as the place looked. I mean, I’ve had bad Chinese before, but this place took the yuk prize. The hot and sour soup tasted like canned tomato soup with tabasco, the mongolian beef was as sweet as candy with over cooked veggies, and the general tao chicken was basically sweet and sour chicken without the sour. Eggrolls were stale and the topper was the packaged fortune cookies were stale too! My husband and I couldnt even get through half a plate. The entire $ 32 worth of food went straight into the compost bin. Im all about supporting local ma and pa businesses, but this place is an insult to Morgan Hill.

This was probably the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I’d never been here before even though I live a mile up the road from this place for the last 15 years. I had a hankering for some Chinese food; it was raining so I didn’t drive to my usual south San Jose place. Hindsight: I should have just braved the weather and drove there. I ordered my food at 5:02 pm. I was told when I ordered it would be ready in 15 – 20 minutes, I gave them 25. Showed to pick up my food and waited an additional 25. The place is small but there were quite a few people waiting(this giving me hope that the food would be decent). Got home, opened the bag and pulled out the cartons. They were pretty heavy. The first contained Mu Shu pork. It looked like a salad with BBQ pork. It tasted worse. The Kung Pao shrimp was albeit spicy, but that was it. It was a vegetable medley with some shrimp that was bland; none of the normal Kung Pao ingredients. The fried rice was about the only thing I could get myself to choke down. Saying their food was a complete disappointment is an understatement because it was just plain olé’ terrible. Do not let all the other good reviews sway you into trying this joint out. All those 5 stars are lies. The service is terrible and food is at best craptastic

A good friend of mine told me to try this place, so I decided to give it a try on my lunch break the other day. I must say that I am very impressed. The only reason it is not a full 5 stars is because it needs some cleaning up on the inside, but really that doesn’t bother me too much. After all when you get Chinese food it is usually take out anyways. What really impressed me the most about this place is the flavor. I got the Pepper Steak dish, and it came with fried rice, chow mien, an egg roll and the pepper steak. Everything was just so good. It actually tasted real, and authentic. I plan to come here more often now, and you really can’t beat the price either. My whole lunch came to only $ 7. Overall, if you like Chinese food, and if you haven’t tried this place yet, you need to get in here. I promise you will not be disappointed.

One of the best Chinese food places I’ve eaten at. Kind of takes awhile but that’s because she cooks it after you order. I say reasonable price for such great taste in food.

Garbage! 12 Health Violations with Santa Clara County Dept. of Health!!! copy and paste this and hit search! 12 violations recently!!! I read all the Unilocal, and everyone talking about huge portions! Rice and chow mein??? Its all starch, a filler, you’re not gettin a bargain, its over priced rice and phony chow mein. There was nothing in the chow mein, not even cabbage. I went there for lunch and the food was warm, no where close to 140 degrees. The BBQ Pork literally had bbq sauce on it and it was drier than Death Valley. This was obviously yesterdays meat and they attempted to use the BBQ sauce to give it some flavor and moisture. I’ve never ever had BBQ Sauce on any chinese before! The place is filthy and dirty, We didn’t see anyone cooking, the gas pilots weren’t even on. Not even the smell of cooked food was in the air. If you are looking for low low quality cheap chinese food help yourself! Mr. Hongs down the street is way better!

My Chinese goto for years! I love their potstickers… There’s a special ‘spiced’ soy sauce that I just can’t get enough of(: Beef and Broccoli is another one of my favs. The family has always been short spoken, but very generous. Even after moving away for several years, where good Chinese food is hard to find… I have returned here and still give it 5 stars.

I’ve been coming to this place ever since I was a child, and it has never once changed. The food, the portions, the prices — it’s ALL stayed the same for over 20 years, and that is a great thing. I moved up to the Sacramento area in ’05, and every time I come back to Morgan Hill I will ALWAYS go out of my way to go back here. Call me biased with the 5 stars, but I love this place and it brings me back. Could the interior use some work? Sure, without a doubt. But I come here the way I did 20 years ago with my mom — take out. Where else can you get a large combo of beef broccoli with fried rice and chow mein for only $ 6? Not even Panda Express. I hope to see this place never change.

Good food at very reasonable prices. I ordered one of the lunch/dinner combos for only 5.99. This combo had fried prawns, an eggroll, chow mein and fried rice. Very good portions! Not too much and not too little, although I really couldn’t finish all the prawns. The very thing that someone on here didn’t like was actually what brought me in. Their fried rice has no peas and carrots, which I hate! This is just BBQ pork, egg and rice. The chow mein is a bit plain too, but that’s how I like it. Hole in the wall place so I recommend getting food to go. I’ll be back for sure.

Good place to eat if you love Chinese food. Cheap prices but the portions that you get are so worth it.

We decided to try this place due to reviews on Unilocal. We were looking for a good take out Chinese place and sad to say, this was not it. This place was simply just ok. The food was nothing special and chow main we got was somewhat cold. The Kung pow shrimp was yummy but we didn’t really enjoy their lemon chicken or fried rice. We were also disappointed with their fortune cookies, which were dark and seemed extra crisp. The place was dirty and old. There were dirty plates and trash and candy on the floor. This is definitely not the place to sit down and eat.

The food is so good. Everything we have ever had has been amazing. Only problem is that they have the worst customer service, and they are rude every time. But the food is so good we keep going bad.

Food definitely was okay and I’d go again especially if it’s close(this is near a quilt store where I was attending a class). Don’t ask for chop sticks for more than the number of entrees you ordered because they won’t give ‘em to you. We had a couple people that shared an entrée and the waitress would only give me 3 chopsticks because I had 3 entrees. Guess that’s a way to keep costs in check !? :)

This review is about their lunch only; I haven’t tried them for dinner. Fast food decent taste. If you are looking for a quick bite under $ 5 in under 10 minutes this is the place to go. Nothing to write home about but it does the trick. They take cash only which can be inconvenient and they don’t speak much English so don’t try to ask any questions about what you are ordering. The fried rice is one type: shrimp. So don’t ask to have it subsituted. The restaurant is more of a take out, but they have two or three tables. Its your traditional whole in the strip mall. I prefer Panda Express to this place, but if this is all you’re near, it will do the trick.

It may seem like the food may not taste great but it really is great. It’s comfort food because carbs on carbs is like heaven. Family owned restaurant. No BS, just very cheap and delicious chinese take out.

Very reasonable. Good portions. Not too much not too little. Crappy location(next to liquor store frequented by bums), but do-able — we ate there Sunday night and no bums/homesless were around. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. the only Chinese Restaurant open on Sunday in MH, other than Panda Express — YUCK!

One of the better chinese places I’ve been to. Food is good, and the restaurant seems clean and well kept. Service can be a little slow sometimes, but overall 3.5 stars, rounded to 4.

Cheap, cheap, cheap! Not the best Chinese food in town, but for the price you can’t complain. The lunch/dinner specials are huge with heaping amounts of chow mein, fried rice and whatever«main course» you choose plus an egg roll. It’s enough for two meals! Their beef with broccoli and their shrimp with broccoli are quite good, but my favorite is their house won ton soup. The won ton soup is loaded with shrimp, beef, pork, chicken, veggies and won tons. More«stuff» than broth. One thing about this place is they aren’t chinchy with their portions! And it’s CASHONLY!

I love this place. The owners there are always very nice and friendly to us, and they REALLY pack in the orders for us! I always go for the vegetable chow mein and there are actually lots of vegetables in it! They know that I’m a vegetarian and so they usually throw in an order of vegetable egg rolls for me, even if I didn’t order it. I’ve come here periodically since I’ve been in high school(over 6 years ago) and they’ve always been great! Of course, you might want to just take this to go. The dining area is pretty dingy, and it is the EPITOME of HOLEINTHEWALL chinese food place. I’m not sure how often they clean the tables down, and there’s only a few tables with seats to sit on anyway. The place is located in the plaza where the Old Albertsons was located, in the same place as The Dollar Tree store and now Ross. The food is cheap. The people there are nice. Besides, it’s not like there’s a whole lot of choice in Morgan Hill anyway!
