Don’t ignore the negative reviews like I did. Both my fiancé and I got food poisoning. The tables and silverware were dirty. The area where the food is kept was poorly maintained. The food was bad. How the health department hasn’t scoped this place out yet is a mystery.

Edible much? Milk temp was in danger zone. the cook stuck his bare hand in the food to pick a hair out. person bringing out food dropped a chicken looked around and placed it for someone to eat. management needs to change very soon. calling the health department on this establishment. I’m in shock. 0 stars for me

I love this place. It’s always clean and tidy and the staff are always pleasant. The food gave the 5 people I went with food pisoning but I was fine and I think they just have sensitive stomachs. It’s all you can eat so bring your appetite and be prepared to feast like a king! !!!

I would have been happier starving or eating dust. This place is a wreck and the food tastes worse than Pritikin diet. I’m not fond of PoopPlantation but at least it has flavorful items. If you don’t cook for yourself and tired of fast food, THIS is your place. If you want regrets for consuming stuff that will wreck your gut, THIS is the place.

This place is pretty ghetto. Started with no attendant at the front desk so after tracking her down I had to wait for the manager because she automatically charged us beverages when I didn’t order it. Then she she tried calling for the manager to override the register who was no where to be found as the line was forming quickly behind me. Dirt dessert bowls, chocolate syrup not working, only vanilla soft serve ice cream working. They failed at the dessert area. The only reason why I gave them a 2 star is because their fried chicken and meatloaf is still decent.

Dirty walls, dirty floors, nice employees. Lost my appetite when I sat down was absolutely disgusted with the management handles their restaurant. That place is filthy. The restrooms are terrible.

I hate to write this review but I felt I had too. Because of this restaurant my Family and I will never eat at a home town buffet agin. This place was absolutely disgusting! The bowls for soup were dirty, food was cold and when my 2 yr old son wanted some milk I went to get him some, and the milk machine temperature gage was is in the danger zone! I took some pics and we left. Do yourself a favor people, and find and different place to eat!

I normally eat here for lunch and for hometown buffet it’s alright. But I usually only eat salad and a few sides. No meat or anything. So I never really have any complaints. Except this one time I had nachos, with just cheese and sour cream and I ate a nacho and it tasted like pure soap. When they washed dishes they didn’t rinse the soap off or something. It was weird. But for hometown buffet, I would expect it. Well for the first time I came for dinner tonight and it was horrible. The food was the same but the place was disgusting. There was trash and food everywhere. I mean for hometown, I would expect that but the people who work there were all sitting down eating! I mean it was after 9 but not one person was cleaning or picking up plates. 4 of them were sitting in a booth eating. In the end I got grossed out because there was food in my drink, and I was finished eating so it had to be in the soda or in the cup. But I won’t be coming for dinner, only lunch.

Don’t expect 5-Star dining, but it’s a real buffet. In this case quantity outweighs quality. I only go for breakfast on Saturday mornings; I wish it were longer. Breakfast is 8 – 11, weekends only; if you get there at 10, by the time you finish one plate, they’re already moving stuff around getting ready for lunch. The omelet bar is my favorite. Shout out to Osmin who’s always willing to stop and dice up tomatoes, because I don’t want mine mixed with onions. Shout out to the rest of the staff as well; they’re fast, efficient and friendly.

It was okay. not the best. They could have a bit more selection of food. Ice cream machine wasn’t in service so for dessert they had rice crispies. The meat for tacos tasted different as well as the pizza. On a scale of 1 to 10 I rate the food a 6. And service. 8

I LOVE Hometown Buffet BUT this location was aweful… No meat carving, utensils were not completely clean, the place was dirty, some of the food was cold, the ice cream machine was broken(had we known that we wouldn’t have even stayed) the cakes were dry not moist… a HORRIBLE experience! We will never come to this location again!

Why we did we waste our money here??? They charged us $ 4 for a drink! That’s ridiculously high!!! The food is super processed and bland. They don’t keep it fresh or stocked properly. I really wanted a Cinnabon but of course they were all out! You don’t do that to a pregnant lady! There dessert area was so bare. The staff was also practically non-existent. Will never waste our money at this location again!

Let me say, GROSS !!! Floor dirty, tables dirty. Team walking around like they hate their jobs. The cook(if that’s what you call him) came out to a dirty table to use the salt & pepper to finish making a sauce WTF. Never again !! Items on steam tables were cold. Omg someone is gonna get sick !

Can you REALLY write a good review for HomeTown Buffet? In my experience, it has always been mediocre at best. My review is based off of food(barely, because we all know what we’re getting into when going to eat there,) cleanliness, and overall customer service. The food was pretty horrific, even for HomeTown Buffet. This had to be the worst HomeTown I’ve been to. The roast beef was like beef jerky, the macaroni was overcooked to mush, and majority of the food was pretty bland. Like I said, I didn’t expect much from the place, but I felt it needed to be commented on. The best part of the food selection was the new cinnabuns. The bathrooms made me uncomfortable. I felt like I should have had a can of sanitizer on hand. Every single stall was filthy, full of trash and graffiti. It wreaked of sewage. The employees weren’t helpful in the slightest, aside from one young woman who realized they made a mistake and corrected it right away. I felt like I was being rushed out the door, but was still left with a pile of dishes on my table as I watched employees stand around. I won’t be back here. It was just too much chaos and cringe-worthy moments.

This is by far the worse location I’ve been too. Food is low quality and I asked to speak to the manager about the dirty dishes we are suppose to use but she wouldn’t even speak to me. The bowls for deserts were crusted in dried food because they were improperly washed and the manager and staff acted like I was suppose to eat off those. Very disgusting and bad management. Most of the staff can barely speak English, those in the kitchen can’t speak English at all. Bread for toast was dried and stale, probably they but day old bread I guess. Silverware had food particles hanging from some similar to the bowls. I guess the manager is too embarrassed to speak to customers about her dirty restaurant or maybe she can’t speak English either.

This place continues to struggle in almost every aspect. AND, their prices continue to escalate to the point now where is will cost you almost $ 15 with drink for dinner. For that price you can go to any of the other nearby places like Red Lobster, Lonestar, Outback, etc. who are now ALL offering yummy daily specials in the $ 11.99 to $ 17.99 range. The main issues with my lunch recent visits to HTB are as follows: 1. Lack of proper food labeling and incorrect labeling(calling pulled pork pot roast and beef pot roast«sirloin tips»…This has been a big time issue that management obviously could care less about as it has been like this for 10+ YEARS. 2. Way too many empty dishes due to lack of staffers to replace them in a timely fashion. 3. Chocolate milk machine empty. 4. No spoons available. 5. Old food stuck on plates and utensils 6. Peas put in salad bar still frozen. 7. By 1:30 almost ALL desserts gone. Why are these not replaced at least hourly? 8. Staffers and managers were NOT aware of $ 6.99 and $ 9.99 lunch and dinner special coupons being run in the Los Angeles Times. WHY? Corporate failure to inform the restaurants? On a better note, this location offers a nice Senior lunch special from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. M-F for only $ 8.19 including drink. That is really hard to beat these days! for some strange reason, they no longer have a wall poster for this special as they used to have… so, you have to ASK for it. Also, they have been running nice $ 9.99 dinner coupons in the Los Angeles Times lately, which makes more sense than their regular price points.

Simply put… YUCK! Its Friday night and not very many people in this restaurant. Minimal food items to chose from and not much worth looking at. I waited 19 minutes to get some roast beef — and when the lady finally arrived she gave me a «miniscule sliver» of roast beef. I’m not 5 years old, I’m a full grown adult! Really? Then we go over to the dessert area and there is 2 pieces of chocolate cake and a dish of nasty looking pudding. This place has gone down hill fast. I will not come back to this mess of a restuarant. For the price they charged me, it should deliver a better product. Never saw a waitress the entire visit. What a MAJOR disappointment!

Today I’m reporting on three new dessert offerings at HTB. GOOD: The Choclolate Pudding Parfait Well, actually not that new as they always seem to have some instant chocolate pudding incarnation either in scoop bins, tubs, cups, juice glasses, or now plastic shot glasses. The pudding itself has changed very little and remains dressed in whipped topping sprinkled with mini choco-chips. It’s okay; I usually crumble a Ranger Cookie into mine – way better! BETTER: The Strawberry Cheesecake Parfait This is somewhat new’ish, sort of, new looking anyways. Again, HTB usually offers some sort of government issued cheese cake concoction. This time its reformed into tiny cups and dressed in strawberry sauce, whipped topping, and a pretty sliced strawberry on top! The little dessert is cute cute cute and looks like a little dollhouse toy. It actually looks better than it tastes – not bad, just not as good as it looks – sort of just okay – but better than the chocolate parfait. I think they should whip the topping into cheesecake mix together with some vanilla and a little more sugar – thus making it lighter and sweeter. Maybe tarten the berry sauce a bit with balsamic vinegar. Dream on right? BEST: The Banana Pudding Parfait This little dessert packs plenty of puddingly pleasure, plus it promises actual fresh banana parts perfectly placed inside! Dressed in a whip topping with tiny vanilla wafer. Light, little, sweet, fresh fruit, my favorite new parfait by far! I think the reason this one works is because it’s not too dark and sweet like the choco, and not too dense and flavorless like the cheesecake. It raises above the rest with its fresh banana, light banana pudding, and light toppings. The cookie is pretty but is too soft. I think a dried banana chip would be cute and crunchy! Good job Hometown! Keep reinventing yourself and I’ll keep coming to see what you’re cooking today!

The food quality is worse than Taco Bell and much more expensive. Drinks are expensive and separately priced. The wall paper is dirty and poorly patched throughout. There is a small area visibly torn and hanging from the wall under an unmarked fire extinguisher in the back. There is a musty smell to the place which matches the menu. While there is a national advertising campaign promoting a new better menu that I have seen in a HTB in San Diego I assure you this place did not have the new menu circa 3÷21÷2014. Poor food quality, stale atmosphere, and therefore high prices. Do yourself a favor get better food by paying twice the price to dumpster dive behind a Taco Bell. You will be a lot happier. So will your family.
