If i recall correctly, this place was closed before due to sanitation when it was under a different name! No way this place should stay open.

I gave this place a 1 cause I wanna be truthful to the public. This place is probably the worst buffet that claims to have sushi. Their sushi is very poor quality. The overall food in general is horrible. I feel sorry for the locals. IF you want a great sushi buffet please contact me personally and I’ll be glad to tell you where to go. I seriously just wanna walk off on my tab, but I’m a Eagle Scout and was raised better. Just do yourself a favor and DON’T come to this place. You will be upset like I am.

It is not as bad as some have stated. I have had better and had worse. The bar items are okay with some better than other items. As for the sushi, Ru Sans in Charlotte serves way better sushi. Try it and judge for yourself.

Very disappointing, sushi is nothing to get excited about and the soy sauce taste water down and my hot tea tasted like soap. Friendly staff and that is all this place has going for it.

Disgusting! Only ate their once and will never return. Its your old run of the mill crappy buffet that includes French fries and pizza… The fried chicken still had feathers on it? Food was Mediocre and it was my fault for not checking the price because for my husband and I both ordering water and a buffet our bill was $ 30!?! Will never return.

We’ve live in Mooresville for a while and wanted to give this place a try! That being said, we’ll never go again! The Buffett was full of dried out food, old crusty food, the bar was caked in grease. Nothing was pleasant about this place. The food was bland and everything tasted about the same. I would recommend driving a mile down the road to Rice Fun!

If I could give this place a 0 star review I would!!! This was such a nasty gross place. The food was awful and the place is so out dated. I question the sanitation of that place. The food tasted so strange, I hope that I don’t get sick. Please do not waste your money here! This place sucks.

If marrying a restaurant was a thing… The food here is glorious but you have to know what to get. The buffet is huge. Don’t go for the sesame chicken. It’s horrendous. Go for the Hong Kong chicken, fried rice, noodles, crab rangoon, fish, rolls, veggies… ect. It is on the pricey side, but to me… Worth it. I’m just broke.

My boyfriend and I went here for an early dinner(a little before 5) on a Saturday. I guess since it was before the dinner rush, they weren’t really putting out much new food. Everything tasted great, but the food could’ve been warmer. The staff was friendly. We’ll probably go again, but maybe at a later time.

Food was good. I went an hour before closing and they kept the food coming. The food had good flavor and there was a good selection to choose from. Our waitress kept checking on us. I liked their fried rice, lo mein, chicken and broocoli, pepper chicken. Husband thought there wasn’t enough to choose from since they had a lot of seafood.

As those of you who may follow my reviews might note, I enjoy Chinese buffets. I like the variety of the food available there, rather than only having one entrée available as in a sit down Chinese or takeout location. Some might counter with an argument about the freshness of the food typically found on the buffets. Of these thoughts, I would typically be in agreement. Often times, the food is not as fresh as might be found in the other locations. This is the tradeoff made for the aforementioned variety. Usually, it is a trade I am willing to make gladly. So, being in the area and following this habit, I decided to try the Hong Mei Buffet in Mooresville for lunch yesterday. I had read their middling Unilocal!reviews, with mixed thoughts. Nevertheless, I was hungry for Chinese and decided to take the chance for lunch. Mediocre is the adjective I would certainly apply to practically the entire meal. Not good, not bad, just mediocre. Positives: Despite coming in relatively late in the lunch period(2:30), I found the food to be all relatively fresh and not dried out nor soggy. Huge, huge plus here! Hong Mei had all the typical Chinese buffet mainstays available, and in suitable quantities for the number of guests in the room. Service was OK for a CB type restaurant. The price was reasonable. Negatives: Sushi bar needs help badly. Quantities poor, and many too warm for comfort. Men’s room needed a good cleaning. Not confidence inspiring of how clean the kitchen could be when the visible facilities need help. Summary: if I were in the area and it was lunch time again, I would return. However, I wouldn’t go out of my way nor gloriously recommend this establishment. It was just an acceptable lunch experience, but a better one than many other reviews here describe.

Ate here on Sunday which is a busy time was up at the bar getting other food and the waitress came by holding dirty plates and spilled stuff on my plate and the surroundings. When I got back to the table my son told me this so I wouldn’t set down in the mess in the seat that they didn’t clean either. I had to go ask them to clean the mess they had made and trashed the plates I had including drink I am really concise ring calling the health department on this. Not only nasty but dangerous.

Food is ok. We get their early for dinner so its not dry or congealed. Or soggy! Sounds yummy lol. Sushi is good depends on who is making it that day. Its a bit 80‘s chic décor. Tuesdays I believe kids eat for 1.99 check before.

Food was great. If you go pay cash though. My husband and I went this evening and the guy didn’t know how to run the register and charged our card 4 times! That’s $ 100!!! Not too happy about it. We did get our money back for 3 out of 4 times even though since they messed up I feel dinner should have been free. We had to sign the roll saying they gave us money and my husband saw where they charged someone else’s card twice as well. So great Chinese buffet but if you go buy cash!!!’

Have ate here a few times ordinary everyday run of the mill Chinese Until tonight. . I was summoned from my home around 945pm by some good friends of mine. Some well dressed upper society types no less. People that look like they belong in high end establishments. One of them was a victim of fraud forcing her to change bank accounts. The bank had not updated her account properly and her Debit card failed to work. Neither had cash or credit card on them for some reason I laughed at them afterwards. What wasn’t funny is the restaurant manager would not let them leave wo paying the bill. They had to meet me across the road at a gas station. In order for them to leave wo them calling the cops they forced the guy to give up his cell phone so he could leave to attempt to take care of the bill. How embarrassing and unprofessional of a company to do that That insures they r never coming back and basically accusing them of a dine n dash. I let it be known when paid the bill to free the phone up what I thought of that. Ridiculous to say the least

I would be embarrassed to recommend this place to anyone. Aside from being outdated, the windows were so disgusting, you couldn’t see out of them. They seated our large party beside a dirty curtain, and then the servers tried to tell us who to sit beside in our own party! The workers also yelled across the restaurant at each other in Chinese, which was really uncomfortable to listen to. The food was average. We had to ask time and time again for refills. The sushi was warm and fell apart before you even had a chance to eat it. My ice cream had not one, but two hairs in it. The buffet costs $ 10.69. Way overpriced. I will never, ever go back here.

Now called Hong Mei. Third name for the same restaurant in less than three years. We had lunch there today. First time from my wife, second visit for me although I’ve been to Eiko, NY Hibacchi and now Hong Mei Hibachi. It curious that the name changes but same menu, same venue, same staff, same phone number etc. Last place under the name New York Hibachi did get some bad press because of an incident and I’m going to speculate, they owner decided easiest course was to change names. They did not have to do that. The place stands on it’s own. Very large selection to choose from. Very fresh and constantly being changed. Sushi is great. Service is great as well. It’s a great place for a great lunch, all you can eat and at a great price.

Gross gross gross — don’t do it. I can’t believe my friends made me eat here — my European friends! I guess they were drawn to the mussels with melted cheese on them. The won ton soup and sushi rolls were OK, but overall there were not many healthy options. Desserts were very artificial tasting.

I was overall happy with this place. In my time around this area north of Charlotte I’ve had a hard time finding a decent Chinese buffet with a large selection. This is the first one I’ve come across and I was happy with the variety, the sushi choices and especially the hibachi grill. The staff seemed overall nonchalant about working there but my server was a special case. He was very friendly, prompt and helpful with suggestions. He suggested I try out the hibachi grill when he had the acute sense to notice I was unsure of what to pick off the buffet. He even picked out the ingredients and brought the plate to my table when it was done. I’m pretty sure I’m just echoing the sentiments of the reviewers before me when I say the sushi chef was indeed a real prick. I asked him a few times what something was and I’m sure he just snapped back in Chinese with some one liner insult. It’d be a good idea to just avoid the guy altogether and ask somebody else if you really want to know what something is. Beyond that I was filled up nicely on Chinese food and Oolong tea so I can’t complain.
