Read the good reviews and decided to give it a shot. Ordered the Pei Mei spicy chicken dish with white rice which I was told was pretty spicy and was their version of General Tso. Couldn’t wait as I was starving. Dish was served pretty quickly and piping hot. Not only was it NOT spicy contrary to the name, but it was lathered in a sweet goop that didn’t taste good at all. Ended up leaving half the entrée untouched. Pretty bummed as I had high expectations. Perhaps I chose the wrong dish but just wasn’t impressed.

Something about Chinese food makes me happy. Its my form of comfort food. Pei Wei is basically the PF Changs of Chinese fast food. Its actually owned by the same company. The quality is really good for Chinese food. A little greasy, yes, but that’s to be expected. You walk in, you order your food, grab a drink and they bring out your food. Its not necessarily the cheapest fast food spot of its def worth it. Portions are big and the food is very good. I got the kong po chicken extra spicy, great choice and my fiancé got the beef with broc, it was great! Glad this spot is pretty close by. Def planning on stopping in more often and take out from here.

I went to pei wei about 5 years back, had the worst pad thai i ever tasted… Went back today with my girl, tried the pad thai again, stupid move, and again it was the worst meal i ever had at any restaurant!!! I’m a professional wine taster, 35 years of experience in food and wine, & this place is the worst!!! 1. Pad Thai was spaghetti with catsup!!! Tasted awful again!!! 2. My girl had shrimp @ rice– both half cooked and tasted bad! 3. The chai tea tasted like Poison!!! This pei wei is for losers, without brains or taste buds!!!

I have eaten at this chain in this town a few times and I think I never had better than the first time I ate there. Seems like the shrimp count in my dish gets less and less, began having the wrong orders set in front of me recently and no mushrooms in the dish I ordered which clearly says is supposed to have mushrooms. It was 7:30PM at night. Is this too late that they are tired and their efforts show this to the customer? Really having a second thought if I will continue to go back now…

I’ve been to this location and cherry hill and they are both awesome. But what I love is their crunchy shrimp sushi. I usually let my friend order for me cause I never know what to get but its good anytime he orders it. I usually have my food rather quickly and always a comfortable setting. I absolutely love those soda machines because of the wide variety of sodas and juices that you can customize.

Today at 12.30 I went to this place with my family. I ordered broccoli chicken. The noodles tasted very bad. It’s like not clocked properly. My son order shrimp lo mein. This is what said — «The noodles tasted like plastic and smelled like plastic». He also complained the place smelled like chlorine or bleach. My wife says — The dishes are dirty and there is like brown colored liquid in plates”. My daughter said, she never got the cookie she asked for. She ordered honey seared chicken with rice. But she found noodles in rice. Our day was screwed up with that lunch. Worst food ever in a restaurent. This is classic example of what happens in a chain of restaurent run by people with no quality inmind. I blame the CEO of this company and its board of directors for this. My family has confirmed that we will never visit this restaurant again. Please don’t visit. I really wanted give 0 star but that option was not there. Thanks, Family from Mt Laurel

Went there with my kids. My son had lomain shrimp and ate the whole thing. My daughter had sesame chicken and ate all of it(and she usually is hard to please). I had Mongolian beef and that was great.

Ok, I’m a slightly reluctant fan of this PF Chang spinoff. I have visited the parent restaurant several times but today was my first at this more casual chain. The menu is similar to what I have experienced at PFC, and the prices are lower, so far me likey. How could I not try the lettuce wraps, I’m obsessed with them and order at almost anyplace that I encounter them. Here there are 2 versions, I opted for the Thai and it was good but not great, but kudos to them for providing enough lettuce to eat them with. Next time I’ll the original version. A few entrees looked enticing but in keeping with a Thai-ish theme I selected Dynamite chicken. I liked this a lot, crunchy chicken pieces that were slightly spicy. The veggie pasty of the dish was sparse, mucho scallion but just some shredded carrots and red pepper. Sauce was almost non existent. Trish ordered her favorite here, chicken Pad Thai. I tasted and thought it was ok, not quite what the dish can be in a good Thai shop, but for the price and quickness, very acceptable. They offer a good rewards program that probably helps bring back repeat customers. At our early lunch arrival we noticed that the place filled in quickly. This is a good choice for a fast and filling meal at a reasonable price. 4 why do I feel slightly guilty Unilocal

This place is my favorite. Nice clean restaurant. Fast friendly service. I love the pad thai with veggies and tofu. The hot pepper sauce is so spicy and addictive. Their prices are reasonable especially since we always have leftovers. They also have really good iced tea. Pleasant experience every time we dine there. Really wish they would open in Philadelphia.

Very good food and nice concept to select a protein, sauce, rice or noodles with sides

When I come for lunch it’s always really busy here. The Asian food here is very Americanized. Though the food is still better than getting your typical Chinese takeout. I personally don’t like this place because when I want Asian food I look for authentic taste I tried their sushi and it was really bad. The rice was dry and the fish quality was low. I recommend not getting any sushi here Another dish I tried was their chicken pad Thai. Again, I personally thought the chicken was terrible. It was over cooked hard, dry and flavorless. The noodles were mediocre, nothing special. I will not be coming back to this place. The food quality is just not good enough. The only good thing I can say about this place is the layout. It’s a pretty cool setup inside. I also like their soda machine

Moorestown location. The place is hit or miss. The last couple of months its taken a turn for the worse. After today, it might be my last time. The owner really just doesnt care anymore and you can see it in the staff. He got a little nasty with a old woman because she kept asking for stuff and they were short staffed. He told her it was all at the self serve station. The girl that takes your order has been there for months and yet everytime i order she has the same confused look and overwhelmed. I should have taken a photo of todays meal because it was that bad. Crab won tons over cooked. Fried rice with raw egg. Kung pao steak chewy and barely covered in sauce. When the owner doesnt care, no one does. Sad because i liked this place when it first opened years ago

Pei Wei is basically like an Asian version of Chipotle. You pick what type of meat you want, what flavor you would like it, and then if you would like rice, noodles, etc. If you like spicy food, get the Kung Pao chicken, it is super good! After you order they will give you a number(similar to corner bakery) and then they bring you your food! Overall 4 stars for the convenience and quality which is pretty decent for a quick service type of restaurant.

I’ve tried Pei Wei a few times and I just don’t like it. I love PF Changs but this simpler take on the restaurant just doesn’t impress me at all. I think the food lacks flavor, its small portions and overpriced for what it is

This location is newer than the Garden State location. I find it to be less busy I have only been to this location twice. The restaurant and restrooms are spotless and the staff quick and friendly. Pei wei is a great chain. Try their lettuce wraps and choose the brown rice over white it is so fluffy and nutty. Each time I order to go and they do not miss a thing and have perfected their packing skills. My favorite is the lettuce wraps.

Pretty ok food. Gluten free options available however I always end up getting the same thing, the gluten free Pei Wei spicy chicken, which is always overly sweet and never spicy. I once ordered the edamame as gluten free and ended up with a glutenous noodle in the box, so I’m not sure how well their cooks are trained on allergen. Not a good option for vegans or vegetarians either. I will probably return but it’s not my first choice.

The place is usually very clean and the service is not what you would expect from a fast food chain. I always order the honey seared chicken over Brown rice. I love and crave it! Lettuce wraps are a great appetizer.

Holy Moses! I get the same dish — chicken Pad Thai every time I go here b/c I don’t want to be disappointed and it’s just THAAAAT good — no — DELICIOUS!!! The rice noodles are devine, the chicken, always tender and I like the taste that the peanuts give it. The eggs in there are nice and protein-y too :) Pretty healthy and I like the ‘kick’ to it — not too spicy — perfect for this wus! The décor is very plain but nice and clean — even the bathroom is! I will go here again and again — yumsters!!!(once I went three times w/in 2 weeks and had the same dish! — haha!)

I love Pei Wei– it is one of my favorite quick serve restaurants around. I go at least once a month and get the same thing every time– Crab wontons and the Beef Lo Mein– delicious. I always go to this location over the Cherry Hill one, it is normally less crowded with tons of easy parking. As soon as you walk in you are faced with the menus– don’t feel pressure to pick quickly, take your time and let people go in front of you. Once you put in your order you get a number to place on your table. The back of the restaurant has all the silverware, napkins, to go boxes, sauces, etc. Pei Wei also has one of those cool soda machines which have every soda flavor you could ever imagine. I always ask for the to-go cup so I can take some soda on my way out. The seating area is okay. The tables are all crowded together, so you sit pretty close to the people next to you. It really isn’t the ideal place for big groups. There are a few booths and a few high top tables. They also have a nice outside seating area. The crab wontons are a MUST. They are packed with warm crab meat and covered in a crispy shell. They sit in some sort of sweet and sour sauce. The Beef Lo Mein is also great– it comes stuffed with beef and veggies mixed into thick lo mein noodles. The service is okay here– they never bring all the food out at once and sometimes i’ll get my appetizer after I’ve gotten my dinner. The place is pretty clean and they turn the tables around quickly. The service used to be great– but recently it seems like they’ve gotten lazy. At the end of your meal you can grab some free oranges for dessert. The fortune cookies have been moved up to the register– I guess people were taking too many when the cookies were left unsupervised in the back. Regardless– I still take at least 3 on the way out.

Getting into a PF Changs can be frustrating since they fill up very quickly and the wait times can be long. When I need a PF Chang food fix and am in a hurry, I go to this Pei Wei. The menu has several similar offerings and the prices are better although it has a cafeteria style service vibe. The orange peel dishes(beef, chicken, shrimp) are a favorite. As mentioned by some, the food can be inconsistent — outstanding once time and just OK another. My hit rate is about 80% positive with the shrimp occasionally being bland and the rice not as moist as I like(although easily fixed with lots of soy sauce). Bottomless soda and fortune cookies keep the kids happy too. The place can be noisy and the selection is limited to keep prices low but overall it’s easily a 3 ½ star to 4 star place. We eat here about once a month and like it for what it is — fast, tasty food. Recommended — especially if you are in a hurry or are bringing along the kids… By the way — today’s visit was excellent(read check in) but the bottomless fortune cookies are gone.
