I was in Vermont to visit a friend and during my stroll in downtown Montpelier, I came across this cute store! I love shopping for bargains but I also like quality stuff. So it was a pleasant surprise to find a place where i could get designer bags and clothings for way less than their regular prices! I really like the mix of vintage vibe that you typically find in a thriftstore and the option of getting nice brand items. Also, the lady who helped me was very sweet and welcoming. Not sure if my expectations were different from the other reviewers before i walked in, but i was nicely surprised by this cool find during my trip in VT and would totally pay them a visit next time i go.

This store looks appealing from the street. But read the other reviews: outrageously expensive for used items– check; rude owner– check; rank smell which hits you as you come in– check. Frankly, it’s amazing that anyone shops here at all. The sales staff tries hard, but you have to feel sorry for them given what they have to work with. The talk from the owner about careful pricing is an insult to anyone’s intelligence. If you are paying retail prices anyway, you might as well buy new.

This place is dreadful. I’d give zero stars if that were an option. Where to start? Where to start? The sales girls are generally nice and helpful, but they have such a high turnover. Personally, I like to know my sales girls, shopping is a serious endeavor, and I want to go into a store and be greeted by someone who knows my style. Not really possible at One More Time. In a little over a year, I’ve seen 2 handfuls of sales girls come and go… Which leads me to the owner. She is nasty and rude, and is always looking at you as though you aren’t good enough to be in her store. Which is funny since it’s full of ugly clothes, and reeks of mold. Seriously, on a hot day, you can smell One More Time from a block away. As has already been stated, the clothes are obscenely over priced, and many are in less than great condition. I’ll gladly pay top dollar for quality and cuteness factor, but nothing at One More Time is even worth the cost of the several loads of laundry you have to do to get rid of the mold smell.

UGH. Montpelier, must you always live up to your stereotypes? Now I know that most shops in downtown Montpelier are pricey. I get the whole marking-things-up-because-of-tourists thing. That said, One More Time is quite possibly the most pretentious, overpriced, unnessesary store in the whole town. It sells second-hand clothing, for completely outrageous prices. Everything is *way* too expensive; regardless of «brand».(and really, unless you are some sort of self-important aging hipster, who would really even desire any of these«brands»??) I couldn’t even recommend this store for its variety, considering how most of it was old out of style stuff you would see on the sale rack for much cheaper at the actual store. or online. or ANYWHERE. I know they probably thought that since something has a label they can charge ridiculous prices but heres a newsflash, every thrift shop has name brand stuff, i have gotten name brand jeans at salvation army for $ 7. I am guessing this store preys on the tourists who dont know any better, and caters to the laughable Montpelier elitists who think they are saving the world because they paid $ 200 on a purse instead of $ 500. hilarious! $ 18 for a used T-shirt, only in Montpelier! Oh, and not only are they WAY overpriced, but the staff are also horrible. Super pushy sales people are not going to make me buy anything, thats for sure. They followed me around the store like I was going to steal something, all the while trying to push terrible clothing that I would never ever consider wearing or buying. I would NEVER recommend that anyone go here. There is a Plato’s Closet in Williston with 100x the selection, and there is a fabulous vintage store on Langdon st called the Getup, both of which I would recommend you go to before ever wasting your time here. Or just do the online thing, where you can find anything with no pushy sales people!

As someone else wrote: No, just no… Ugh! Really though, this place is a joke! It sells USED, out of style clothes for more than retail! Are you kidding me? I have seriously seen LOTS of items in this store that I have bought for less, NEW!!! Not even clearance items! I don’t know how they do there pricing but I truly feel bad for anyone who gets duped by this store. Just go to Athenas across the street! Super cute, on trend clothing for wayyyy cheaper than this second hand rip off. They have some«vintage» crap that is so beat up someone who mistake you for being homeless! It is actually quite sad now that I think about it!

Holy cow. This is the most expensive consignment shop I have ever visitied. They had some good brands and quality clothes but. .. uh, no. Just no. This experience just deepens my love for Plato’s Closet.

Selection is good quality but styles are a bit dated. There are a few good deals in there if you have the time to search… like a few pairs of recent styles of high-end denim at a fraction of the typical cost(definitely used but clean and not worn out). A lot of the clothes seem to be coming from about 6 – 9 years ago. I was here in 2010 and it seemed like I’d entered a time machine taking me back to Banana Republic in 2003! If that’s your thing, go forth. Not much in way of appealingly«retro» or «vintage.» The pricing is a little strange at this place. I spotted a few basic H&M tees that I am seriously 99.5% sure retail brand new at H&M stores for $ 12.80, if not cheaper. This store was trying to charge $ 16 – 18 for them??? WTF. I suspect it is because the style is more«on-trend» than a lot of the inventory. I also found some Mossimo tops(sold at the house of Target) being sold here for a handful of dollars more than they do new at ANY Target across the country(btw, I am an expert on Target since I am in there store at least once a week). Whatever the case may be, these shirts are at the very least, «used» or «not new», so you’d expect a 2nd hand store to sell them for slightly less than og retail price. Also, these are some seriously mass produced products from big chains. I highly doubt these have aged(and gained in value) in the same way a Christian Dior gown from 20 years ago might. Anyways, service was okay. The staff check in on you once in awhile but mainly leave you to peruse. No overly sales folks or suspicious staring. I don’t live in Montpelier but if I did, it is probably worth a stop once in awhile to potentially find something basic for a good price.
