We were there over the weekend and at first when we went in we felt cozy. Shortly into our visit the pub began to fill up with a very unsavory and loud crowd who seemed to be the local regulars. We were sitting eating our meals at the bar and the waitress came over and asked about our food and we were honest about the Shrimp Scampi separating and loaded with oil and was very very greasy, the shrimp were good and eaten, then we got the wings that they dumped every sauce apparently that they carry on them and they were so awful they could not be eaten. All that was said to her was«everything was ok and at least we tried these items and not a big deal, the meat loaf was awesome and gave great reviews on that. Instantly the attitude changed, she came over and cranked the juke box up full blast that was directly behind us then proceeded to ignore us for the remainder of our visit. To be honest and polite about it these days goes no where and fast. We did not offer the comments on the food nor had any intentions to as we didnt think anything of it and didnt really care. But what came from the staff for treatment was absurd and the crowd was deplorable. Beware, If I could give this place a minus I would.

Great food and great service. The food was super fresh and you can taste it in every bite. Worth the effort to go there.

the restaurant is well lit so easy to find on Broadway at night. They have a sign up stating new ownership. walked in we were greeted in seconds and takin to our table. The waitress was knowledgeable and sweet. The rib eye was perfectly cooked. The smashed potatoes were fresh and so were the green beans. my wife had the roast beef open face and that was really good also. It came with thr same sides. prices are good service is quick amd my wifes mojito was done right.

We were in town visiting and stopped by the Nugget for dinner. We were given a very warm greeting and had our pick if tables(it was a Monday night). The entire staff from the hostess to the bartender to the waitress were extremely nice. The menu had lots to offer. My daughter had the half rack of ribs and loved them. My wife the vegetarian picked the vegetable lasagna and I had a steak. The food was very good but not amazing. We had the Heath Bar cake and Apple Cobbler for dessert. Both were excellent. All in all I highly recommend it.

This restaurant is the definition of «don’t judge a book by it’s cover» we walked in thinking shit there’s no way this could be a good place to eat also we had 9 people in our party. Sitting there being the only people really eating at about 5pm we were a little concerned. I ordered the nugget wings. This swung the mood to something amazing, they are crispy and very flavorful. They brought out home made cinnamon bread which was AMAZING! The whole table then ordered Rib Eye steaks which was 9 steaks. They each came out PERFECT they basically fell a part in your mouth. The place is an awesome spot and definitely a must when coming through town. I promise you will not be disappointed.

What a pleasant surprise! We decided to try The Nugget after driving by and noticing it had re-opened to new owners. The meal was EXCELLENT! Traditional American cuisine and one of the best meals we have had in a restaurant in a long time. We had the chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The chicken, moist and meaty. The potatoes melt in your mouth and the zucchini delicious. A gourmet meal in a relaxing and comfortable setting. This restaurant deserves to be open for a long time! We can’t wait to try something else on the menu, although I might just do the chicken again.

We finally made it. The food was everything it claimed to be. We had the blue cheese tid bits and an insanely huge triple decker Reuben. The only reason I am leaving off a star is because of the service. She was nice enough and impressively memorized all our orders(kids had quesadillas — with modifications). I would 100% recommend eating there.

We went back to check out the food quality as well as the ambiance .To our pleasant surprise the service was prompt, courteous and excellent. The owners came to our table and we seemed to have made new friends. The steaks were comparable to Peter Lugers but at a fraction of the cost. Adding to the great dinner was the fab jazz quartet. We will return.

Had a NY strip. It had lots of fat to trim but it was pretty good. Cooked just how I wanted. The sweet potato fries were amazing. Some of the best I’ve had. Veggies were fresh and tasty. I’d come back.

I’m sad to say the Nugget appears to have closed their doors. :(This was one of my families favorite places to grab a bite in Monticello. Going to miss the good times we had there… Their fantastic burger selections, nugget chips, fresh cut fries. Really sorry to see them go. Dang. Hopeful that someone will reopen it and retain the former menu.

Went there for lunch yesterday for a friend’s birthday on a whim. Good food, good drinks, no complaints. :) Little pricey, but doesn’t bother me.

It’s places like these that really make me smile. Small town bar and restaurant really kicking ass at what they do. Sat at the bar and played games on my phone while waiting for my food. I tried really hard to make pleasant conversation with the bartender lady but she wasn’t really having it. Oh well. Ordered an irish coffee to stave of my impending headache. It mostly worked. To start I had the boneless chicken wings with the thai chili sauce. Tasty and spicy and sweet and yum. The preparation was a little haphazard but it got the job done right. I don’t regret this. Had the Jack Daniels burger for my entrée. I asked them to add caramelized onions(because I saw it on another burger) and that did not happen but luckily, I lived. It was still quite delicious and also HUGE. I didn’t even finish half of it. Glanced at the dessert menu but it was pretty uninspired so I passed. The meal wasn’t exactly cheap but I did have a lot to eat and I probably could have split it. On the off chance that I’m in Monticello again I’m definitely returning to the Nugget. Gotta get my nugget on.

I stopped into The Nugget with three friends during a weekend roadtrip, all of us looking for some local taste. The Nugget delivered. They have a great location and for some reason at 4pm on a Saturday, they were one of the only places open for business. Maybe the competition knew they couldn’t hold a candle to The Nugget’s wings and beer selection. We ate, drank, and chatted with the staff & owner and couldn’t have been more pleased… we felt right at home. Had a bad experience with wings at another pub the night before, and so I was personally looking for wing redemption, and the Nugget did them just right. Food and beer was fresh, the menu was incredible, and the décor was very appealing. You can tell these people put a lot of care into what they do. Later on in the evening, we ran into more out-of-town’ers who were looking for a place to eat and drink, and we all recommended this place without hesitation.

Well, I gave this place another chance… the difference in my experience this time was simply fantastic! I now know what all the others experienced and will DEFINITELY return with friends! I now believe my initial experience was obviously a fluke. I ordered a perfectly seasoned/broiled large t-bone steak medium rare w/mashed potatoes & gravy. Comfort food at its very best! The owner, Pat was an absolutely delightful host as she came over to our table personally to see how we were doing, which turned into many pleasant conversations intermittently throughout the evening. Topped it all off with their delectable, locally made, carmel Apple pie! An extra special treat was listening to and meeting the Jazz band(Barry«Doc» Scheinfeld Group) that was totally«kickin’ it!» as well. Although my initial visit did not go well, this eve. more than made up for our previously negative experience. This is now my favorite resaurant in Monticello! Thanks to Pat and her staff for a wonderful evening!

The only reason I would be up in this neck of the woods is for the golf. Played Grossingers in the morning and needed some nourishment(read beer and burger) for the afternoon round at the Concord. From the outside it does not look like much. But once in it is homey with a full menu that anyone could order from. Our foursome stuck with the burgers(of which there was at least 12 to choose from). Cooked perfectly to order, fantastic char, and perfect ratio of beef, to bread, to condiments. Home made fries that were crisp and seasoned perfectly. For 8.95 I may make the 2 hour trip north the next time I need a good burger. BTW found this place using my Unilocal app. Thanks to the previous reviewers.

We were vacationing on Lake Joseph, we decided that we were going to go out instead of grill for a night. The recommendation from a staff member was Buona Fortuna, an Italian Resturant. As we pulled into the empty parking lot, a bell went off in my head. Just because we are not in NYC, why am I simply taking one person’s recommendation instead of using Unilocal?!! And, validated once again, Unilocalpers convinced us not to dine at the 1st place and to choose the Nugget instead. Place was the perfect non-pretentious spot for us. The menu is seemingly never ending. There is pretty much nothing you could ask for that wasn’t listed. That has us a little worried as it looked like a glorified diner menu. We started with the prime rib french fries with gravy. Yes. Thats right. Prime Rib French fries. They had at least five different types of fries and these did not disappoint. Main course were Fried chicken and the«nugget» cut Prime Rib. Fried chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy, crispy while being greasy ATALL. The dark meat was especially good! After speaking to Chef Andrew, I went with the roughly 2 lb Nugget cut Prime Rib. Over 3″ high on the plate, it was a nice piece of meat. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Staff was great. We sat at the bar and the bartender was personable and engaging without being intrusive. As I had mentioned, chef came out and was speaking with the customers. It is very much a neighborhood place and was pretty full on a tuesday night for dinner. The only knock would be that my meal as per the menu was supposed to come with soup, salad & bread basket but none were offered. I was OK with that though as I knew what the size of the piece of beef coming. I am confident that if I had asked, they would have accommodated me apologetically. Prices were great… but that may just because I have no idea what things cost outside NYC. Lol. All the above food & bud lights $ 100 with tax and tip.
